Father Mu immediately replied with a smile on his face: “Yaoyao will be first to perform. Competitors will perform in order of their scores in the previous rounds. Yaoyao had the highest score.”
(T/L: Mu Qingyao was first in the licensed pianist’s competition while Xu Xinduo was first in the amateurs competition.)
Father Shen was surprised to hear that.
Father Mu continued with a proud expression on his face: “It is to honour the performance of the top rankers in the previous rounds. The scores which you earned in the previous rounds are useless in finals. Only your performance in finals matters.”
Father Shen nodded as he said: “Well if Yaoyao is not nervous, I guess there will be no problem with taking first place again.”
Father Mu was very satisfied with this point: “Yes, Yaoyao has worked hard since she was a small child. Her current achievements are simply the result of her efforts.”
During their chit chat, the competition had officially started. After the host made a speech, he invited the first player of the finals on the stage – Mu Qingyao.
Mu Qingyao dressed very well today. Her dress was tailor-made. It could make full use of her strong points and avoid her weaknesses. With exquisite makeup on her face, she looked graceful, quiet and elegant as she walked onto the stage.
Mother Shen looked at Mu Qingyao and said with satisfaction: “Yaoyao’s temperament is getting better and better.”
Father Mu replied: “Yes, she is now grown up.”
Mu Qingyao herself knew that this was an important opportunity for her to enter her parents and Shen Zhuhang’s hearts. She had to grasp this opportunity no matter what.
When she stayed at home because of an injury, she practised playing the piano very hard. Taking into consideration the efforts she put into it since childhood, she was bound to win first place in this competition.
She chose to play《Chopin – Nocturne in C Sharp Minor (No. 20)》
(T/L: Great piece of work. You can hear it HERE.)
The melody was very beautiful. It was very suitable to enjoy in a quiet environment as it could calm down a person’s body and mind, and bring a sense of peace.
Her state and performance were very good this time. She had already played the piece to her extreme. After the performance, the audience’s applause lasted for a while, giving her peace of mind.
Mu Qingyao stood up and bowed, then walked off the stage. The teacher came over to talk to Mu Qingyao and praised her for her performance.
The teacher had met her several times in previous rounds and she had taken good care of her. She was also generous and often bought drinks and lunches for this teacher. The teacher had always had a very good impression of Mu Qingyao.
After the match, Mu Qingyao went to the side to wait.
Mu Qingyao’s high heels were a bit too high, causing her discomfort. When she went to the dressing area to change her high heels for comfortable ones, she suddenly heard a staff member whispering.
“The candidate just now played very well.”
“Yeah, it was really good. It’s my favourite.”
“I guess she will win the competition, right?”
“Not necessarily. On Wednesday, there was a candidate in the amateur competition who played the same piece as hers and scored higher than her.”
“Amateur competition? Impossible? Do the teachers over there have fewer requirements and give high marks if they perform well? “
“I don’t know about that. Anyway, I heard that there are dark horses in the amateur competition.”
Mu Qingyao, who was sitting in the dressing room, was surprised. She couldn’t return to her senses for a long time.
Amateur competition?
