Hi, everybody. I have recently started a new novel called I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History. You can read it HERE.
“Hmm, it’s justified and convincing,” Xu Xinduo really followed suit.
In the beginning, Tong Yan intended to comfort her with a hug. But after doing so, his thoughts were in a jumbled mess.
He didn’t know where to put his hand as he thought for a while before hugging her back.
He embraced her more tightly into his arms. As a result, the clothes of the two rubbed and sparked during the action as it let out the faintest crackle, but even Xu Xinduo saw the electric light.
She quickly let go of Tong Yan, but he didn’t want to and continued to hold her stubbornly.
Xu Xinduo realized the ambiguity of the situation as she swallowed a mouthful of saliva and whispered, “Tong Yan.”
“Hmm?”
“I feel better…”
“Mm,” He insisted on not letting her go.
What does it mean for a lamb to enter the tiger’s mouth?
Xu Xinduo finally realized the meaning of that idiom. She was indeed familiar with Tong Yan, but the familiarity didn’t extend to his feelings for her.
But now that Tong Yan had her in his heart and gallantly announced that he was going to pursue her, he really did just that.
Rather shamelessly.
When she was enveloped in his arms, she shouldn’t ever dream of running away.
Xu Xinduo pushed Tong Yan and tried to maintain a good distance between the two of them. Tong Yan finally loosened his grip on her slightly, but did not relinquish the reins of control to her.
Tong Yan kept looking at her, seeing that she was a little uncomfortable and was desperately trying to avoid his gaze. Then, she noticed him edging closer to her gradually, as if he was leaning in for a kiss.
She immediately blocked Tong Yan’s mouth while pretending to be fierce as she said, “Tong Yan! Didn’t I already say that we shouldn’t?”
“You said not to do it so suddenly, I’m doing it slowly…”
What a twisted sense of logic!
She discovered that Tong Yan was a genius with reading comprehension.
No wonder his Chinese results were useless! (1)
(T/N: I’m not from China so I can’t credit myself with the accuracy, but the language papers there are known to ask notorious and ambiguous questions that require you to have sick grammar and vocab to answer. So being good at comprehending texts doesn’t help much on the exam when almost everything required accurate answers)
At this time, Xu Xinduo’s cell phone rang and she immediately turned around to get the cell phone, connecting the call from Brother Zhang.
Tong Yan was particularly upset as he held Xu Xinduo shamelessly, looking like a big dog who was reluctant to give up.
Xu Xinduo completely ignored him, pushing Tong Yan with one hand while answering the phone.
Brother Zhang seemed to be quite happy wherever he was, because out of all things he could have said, the first sentence was spoken with the intent to give Xu Xinduo some New Year’s greetings, “Duoduo, Happy New Year.”
“Mm, Happy New Year, Brother Zhang.”
“Haha, there’s a sudden change of plans— we might need to spend an extra day at work. But, it’s all for a good cause and the entire team is really pumped up about this.”
“Mm, go on,” The hidden meaning in his words was to hint that she had no means of rejecting the extra workday.
“Just now, ‘Fashion Li Liya’ magazine sent us an invitation in hopes that you can have a quick photoshoot for an extra issue of the Lantern Festival—urgently! They couldn’t contact the arranged model, so the opportunity arose for you, on the cover page!”
Xu Xinduo feigned surprise and shock as she gasped audibly, “Really? When?”
