Chapter 53 - Chapter 52

CHAPTER 52 AN EARLY BLACK SATURDAY

((( ZHIO )))

"What do you want? Date for love or choose someone of your standard for a medically aided pregnancy? "

He grinned,

"Give women a chance. I could even arrange a blind date for you."

"Fine."

Do whatever you want. I don't care anyway.

Deo stood like a niche outside the door when I came out. Behind him were my men who were on the watch at everything I was about to do.

"Keys," I ordered Deo.

He didn't move.

"Your keys!" I repeated.

He remained deaf at my command.

"Give me your fucking keys Deo," I yelled.

Was he defying me?

Few people lifted their heads at the noise.

"But Wenziel…," he stuttered.

"Who's your boss, I or Wenziel?"

He reluctantly snatched his keys and handed them to me. Several of my men tried to meddle but gave up instantly when I glared at them.

"Stay where you are!"

I threatened them as I paced out into the morning view.

The memory of that old chapel replayed continuously at the back of mind. I've been longing to go back for a while now.

I want to see her badly.

So freaking badly…

But the place was empty when I arrived. The sight of Jesus bleeding on the cross stared at me condescendingly.

I have my own burdensome cross that was too heavy to carry.

I felt feverish, smothered. Everything I had just known added to the curse I was already carrying.

Why were these things happening to me? I don't want this!

"As far as I know, the Holy Week's still a few weeks away," a voice said from behind,

"You look as if it's Black Saturday already."

I didn't turn to see whoever it was.

I'm not in the mood to.

"I'm glad you came back to visit, Zhion," she sat beside me.

"Do we have a problem?"

My head remained bowed as I glanced sideways. I only saw the white flowers she was holding. She left the bag on my side and went to the altar to give her little gift.

She gave me the warmest smile she could when she returned.

"You seem to be greatly troubled to have went here this late."

She kneeled down like she usually do and closed her eyes in prayer.

I was mindlessly staring at her again like the first time we met.

"Done!" she exclaimed as she looked around.

"Looks like Sister Ema isn't around. Wait…"

Her beady eyes were back on me.

"Hey. Why do you look like that? Don't you remember me?"

"I need somebody to talk to,"

I finally willed myself to talk.
