"Fine."

"How's the talk with your family been?"

"Just fine."

"Did they agree with you going abroad?"

I was suddenly tensed. Dennise and I looked at each other in unison.

"Dennise will tell you about it," I sighed.

"What is it?" I could tell he's running impatient again.

"I'm sleepy. Just ask her," I handed the phone back to her.

(DENNISE)

Claire gave the phone back to me and walked away.

"Claire's brother want to take us to the airport to make sure we're telling the truth."

"Talk to Deo about it. He'll handle that," Zhio answered quickly.

"Where's Claire?"

See. This guy's deeply obsessed with her.

"Dead."

He remained silent.

"I mean she's went to sleep," I took my joke back.

Zhio doesn't have a bit of sense of humor when it comes to Claire.

"I have to end this call,I still need to talk to my little brother."

"Fine. Just make sure Claire's okay. Three hours from now, both of you have to go back here."

"Okay."

"And tell her…I'm not coming home tonight."

End call.

I quickly dialed Deo and talked to him about the flight. He's usually unavailable because he's always busy but he said he'd take care of it. But currently, he'd have to go somewhere with that grumpy CEO.

(ZHIO)

"The plane's ready," Deo said while scrolling some documents in his tablet.

I took some more papers from my case and handed it to him.

"About Claire…"

"All good," he answered.

"Alright. Call your sister every five minutes and update me if they got back to the mansion."

"Understood."

(CLAIRE)

I feel sleepy.

And hungry.

Cold sweats were all over my body and I felt bouts of dizziness again.

I went to the kitchen to get some foods and saw Dexter there. He's preparing some home-cooked afternoon snacks on the table.

"Eat all you want," he told me, "You look starved."

"Thanks. I'll call them all," I smiled at him.

Just as I was about to go, they swarmed at the kitchen area. I sat instead and took my plate. As we ate, they chattered in pairs…

Nadine and Amy…

Dexter and Dennise…

Ma and Lilibeth…

I felt isolated.

"Oh right. These past few days I wasn't able to contact you," Dexter turned his gaze at me.

Right.

My head ached at the sudden remembrance of a hurtful memory. It has gotten vaguer now though.

"Clarita?"

Dennise stood up and approached me.

"I-I'm just giddy," I tried to refuse her assistance.

"You need some fresh air. I'll take you outside," she offered.
