((( CLAIRE )))
We walked through the hallway and I couldn't help but marvel at the gigantic space inside.
It was huge.
"Deo…"
My gaze fell on the woman we passed by.
It was Jessica Mendez.
She looked at me from head to toe, "I think I met you somewhere."
"We're in a hurry, Miss Jessica. If you may, our schedule shouldn't be impeded by pep talks," Deo politely excused us.
"Oh, right!" She ignored his words when she finally recognized who I was, "Derick's fiancé."
Deo didn't allow me to look back at her.
Derick…
His name was summoning a hazy recollection from the back of my forgotten memories. It made my temples throb and my heartbeats race.
I'm scared.
"Is there a problem?" Deo looked at me when I suddenly stopped walking.
I shook my head and continued walking through the hallway.
(DEO)
Her hands were trembling and cold.
As we reached the end of the hallway to the Assessment Section's lounge, which was built with transparent glass walls, every employees turned their gazes at her.
Her head remained bowed as we reached Zhio's suite.
The suite was a pretentious room that looked like a president's regular work office that had one pin-code-secured door and a regular bathroom door.
"You can breathe now," I smiled at her.
I approached the more secured door and entered the pin code.
"And this is where Zhio rests."
When the retracting glass door opened, she immediately peered her eyes in.
It was Zhio's personal space and only a few people had been inside it.
"I thought he never rests in his office," Claire smiled.
"You could stay here while the conference has yet begun."
She entered and gazed around the exquisite room.
"He rarely sleeps here and this place mostly served as his wardrobe."
I pointed to the side of the door,
"Use that phone if you need something. It is primarily connected to my phone and I could redirect your call to other services if that is what you needed. If I am unavailable, my assistant would handle it for you."
"Deo…"
I turned back to her.
"Zhio is still coming back, right?" her voice was heartbroken.
"I think so too. He's still breathing."
She just smiled at me.
"I hope he's alright."
