But before I could confront him in the company, I heard Claire has gotten back to their house.

I was suddenly afraid.

She knew what happened and I was faceless in shame.  

How should I approach her?

For a while, I didn't had the courage to go anywhere near her and thankfully an overseas conference saved me some time.

Zhio was there, confident as ever.

Did that fucker really used Zhio as an excuse?

Would I believe that lie?

After the conference, I dared myself to face Claire.

But she wasn't there anymore.  

Dexter took her to the airport as if to take her away from me.

And Claire's family, unlike how they treated me before, has been cold to me.

They told me I have lied to them.

They said it wasn't me who helped them before.

Well, they didn't ask me before. And I never claimed to have helped them.  

I was about to leave their house when Dexter arrived.

"I knew it," his fist flew to my face.

He punched me to his heart's content until I was thoroughly beaten like an egg yolk.

"Liar! How dare you to make my family believe that you're the hero who's been trying to help us." Fuck.

I never knew they were assuming and that was my fault? I never pretended.

But still, I didn't will myself to talk back.

I just left the house to hopefully see Claire before her flight departs.

I have to explain myself to her. I don't want her to disappear in my life.

I nonchalantly passed the cars and sped up until I got to the airport.

Where in the world is she going? Because my family has a name in society, I immediately asked for her name to be looked up in the passengers list.

"We're sorry Sir. No Claire Masadra booked a ticket in any flights available." I punched the reception desk.

"I'm sorry Sir." Does that mean…Zhio was indeed playing games with me?

And I'm certain he's behind everything that Claire received.

While on my way to the company premise, father called.

I had to go to Europe.

As soon as possible.
