"The bitch!"

Jessica stormed outside the car but I was fast enough to grab her arms.

"Get your hands off me Derick!"

"Stay here…"

I pulled her back to her seat and locked the doors so she couldn't go out no matter how much she liked to.

"Okay Mother Ema, we'll be going now."  

I heard Claire's voice from inside by the chapel entrance.

(CLAIRE)

"Be safe, both of you," Mother Ema bid,

"And Claire, please always take care of yourself for your little angel."

"Yes Mother Ema."

My scarf fell off my shoulders as the wind blew harder when we got to the outside.

I bent down to pick it but was surprised when somebody held my hands.

I lifted my gaze to see who it was.

It was Derick…

"Derick?"

I felt a sudden shiver.

His eyes….made me slowly remember what happened that night.

Once more, it made me feel the fear I've felt before.

And there was nothing else I could do but let my tears fall.

"Clai---"

Her tears fell bitterly but she pulled her arms away from my grip.

She ran fast from me so I tried to follow but three men stopped me from getting any closer to her.

Obviously enough, they're Zel Cantheliz's men.

What was that for?

"Claire! Let's talk!"

She immediately rode Dr. Eriez's car and the vehicle sped off in a blink.

The men remained and pushed me to the grass.

Why did Claire react like that when she saw me?

That thought held me still on the ground as the men sped off their own cars.

Why was Claire like that?

Everything that happened unsettled me so much.

Especially because Claire was still crying as we arrived back in the mansion.

She immediately locked herself in the room and hasn't eaten a bit of her lunch.

…so despite the privacy protocols, I entered the room without her permission.  

The lights were still off.

And when I lit the lamps,

"Miss Claire…"

She was still in tears and she looked really exhausted from crying.

"What's happening to you?" I approached her and tried to stroke her back.

"Don't touch me!" she suddenly yelled.
