Chapter 393 - 389 Super Deo

((( DEO POV's )))

I had a hunch about what we'd be talking about.

Certainly, Miss Jasmin...

Whenever he felt troubled, he'd go out of rational control. At such times, he really needed a companion. When I left the office, I went straight to the villa.

Rhio left early to catch up on dinner with his son.

"Uncle Deo!" Kevin called me. I didn't expect I'd be godfather to him at baptism. But it's my pleasure anyway.

Gifts for him were really difficult to choose. Because what else does a Zel Cantheliz needed?

"Is Auntie Dennise around too?" he asked.

"She's busy with her band gigs…stuff like that."

"Kevin..." We turned to see Ivy.

"Talk to Uncle later." Then the boy left.

"You visited," Ivy looked at me.

"Rhio asked me for some talk."

"About what? Did something happen?"

I didn't want to answer her. Her vibes felt off since the first time I met her.

I didn't know why though.

I just shrugged and tried to pass her by but…

"You're just a secretary, right?" she said. I was surprised she'd say that.

"But you're acting disrespectful towards me already. Tell me, are you trying to make me an enemy?" she added.

I cleared my throat.

Those were usually the lines of bitchy witches in movies.

"Deo, put it in your mind that although I'm not yet a Zel Cantheliz today...someday I will be. So show me some respect like how you respected Jasmin, right?"

I just stared at her and turned away. What's her problem?

But she got big dreams, ambitious dreams rather. To become Rhio's wife…that would be ridiculous.

I went to the room where I usually stay in whenever I sleepover. There was a soft knock on the door as I tried to nap for a moment. When I opened… It was Kevin. I let him in.

"You're going to tell me a small secret again?" I tousled his hair.

There was time a while ago when I saved Kevin from Ivy's brainwashing about Jasmin. It was the time when everybody received the news that Jasmin has died. Ivy tried to make him believe that but in the end, I convinced him to be as firm as Rhio in believing that Jasmin's still alive.

"I notice my Dad these past days," he said, "He looks troubled. Did he tell you anything?" I patted his head.

"You know you're still too young to know your father's problems. Don't worry, I'm here to help and ease his problem."

"I also want to."

"You can."

"How?"

"Be happy for him. Go to sleep and be a good boy." He nodded.

"Daddy's in the Lanai."

"Yep, I'm going there." He came out.

Kevin's a smart child. And very thoughtful.

I was changing clothes when I realized somebody came in again. A handkerchief was pressed tightly against my nose until the strange scent of chemical started taking my consciousness away.

When I fell down, I saw that unmistakable pair of feet.

"I really hate nosy people," the voice said before injecting something in me.
