Andrea had been busy with her laptop since she left the mansion. Her eyes only rested upon boarding the plane with Hanxi, Li Wen and the kids.
Hanxi kept telling her to relax, but she just did not feel comfortable. She may be overthinking things, but it irked her to the core that another woman was claiming to in her shoes.
After taking her seat, she received a call from an unknown number. She frowned but answered it, regardless.
"Babe, It's me. My phone is missing. I have a phone in my possession and it looks exactly like mine... I don't know how this happened. Did you try to call me?" It was Lu Fang on the other line.
"Babe?" He asked again.
"Who are you with? Where are you?" In a stiff voice, Andrea replied. She spoke her words candidly. "Is there a woman staying with you?"
"What kind of question is that? You are acting like a jealous wife for no reason?" The man asked her back, utterly taken aback.
"So what if I am acting jealous? Do you have any objections?" she asked, her tone now slightly raised and her eyes thinned as she held her phone with one hand. She was still working on her laptop as they spoke.
"Absolutely not! I love it when you are jealous. It means I'm rooted in your heart and you love me! That's fine because I love you too," Lu Fang replied straight away. He did not know the reason for his wife's sudden suspicions, but he needed to clear the air.
He could only assume it was because he failed to answer any of her calls.
Andrea tried to hold her blush but she could not help it. Li Wen witness her turn from being agitated to self-conscious in a split second. She was quick to cover her face with her hand and resumed talking to the man, "Tell me where are you exactly?"
"I'm staying at the Hilton in Shenzhen. Bolin is in the other room and he also lost his phone," said the man. He began to tell her about leaving his mobile with Bolin and upon retrieving it, he, apparently, was giving a different device.
"Are you lying to me?" She asked.
"Never, Andy. Come on. When have I ever lied to you?"
"When you told me you liked cheese." It was Aunt Rosa who told her how the man struggled to keep cheese in the mansion despite having difficulty keeping it down. However, just a few days ago, she was sure her husband said he liked cheese.
After confirming his said location was the same as what was earlier reported by Pie Wang, she softened. She was relieved to learn she was merely getting jealous over nothing.
She heard the man chuckle on the other line before he responded, "I like cheese now. It doesn't matter. Babe, can you trace my phone, please?"
"I already know where it is?" She replied before giving a sigh of disgust.
"Where is it? I need to get it."
"Don't worry. I'll make sure your phone is returned shortly. Where will you be in the next four to five hours?"
"In a conference hall, here at the Hilton. Why?"
There was a moment of silence before Andrea finally responded, "I just missed you… so I'm sending you a special treat."
"Hmmm. I miss you too, babe… but I'm coming home tonight. You don't have to send me anything."
"Well, too late for that. Your sweet treat is coming. At least I know you'll still be at the hotel by the time it gets there."
The man gasped in surrender and said, "Okay. If you say so. I look forward to it."
"I have to go now," Andrea suddenly bid goodbye, not waiting for an answer, leaving the man completely bewildered.
Lu Fang let it be. He had more important matters to deal with for the day. He will have to go through it without his phone.
Just as Royal Dragon's plane was about to take off, Andrea was staring at her laptop browsing through some files. Li Wen who was sitting beside her asked, "What's that?"
"Oh, Megan Wong."
"Who?"
"Look." Andrea turned her laptop to her sister, showing pictures of Megan, the ones that were saved in the woman's laptop. "Global China's new CFO."
"She is beautiful," commented Li Wen.
Andrea glared at her sister in disbelief. "Who's side are you on?"
"What's wrong with what I said? You think she was the one who answered Lu Fang's phone earlier?"
"It had to be her! She tried unlocking his phone just a while ago," she replied before giving a smirk. "She ended up losing her entire work altogether."
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Reminds me of how many women were after Ting," Li Wen said out of the blue. "Some just won't stop until they know exactly who they are dealing with… Make her realize, Andy."
"She is attractive, but you are far more beautiful with an angelic face. You are a smart and strong woman, plus you are Lu Fang's wife," Li Wen added, trying to make up for her earlier comment about Megan.
The two began giggling in their seats and as the plane left the runway, Li Wen got settled and reminded Andrea about the report she received from their organization.
They were earlier told that previous employees of Global China were trying to hire a paid assassin to have Lu Fang kidnapped. No one took the job. However, it doesn't mean that the employees would not act on their own.
"Don't worry, sis. I got that covered," Andrea assured her while giving a wink.
Li Wen had already instructed her pilot to head for Shenzhen as she would drop off her sister before returning to Guangzhou. This way, Andrea and Hanxi would only have to spend three hours traveling.
Meanwhile, in Megan's suite, she was crying her heart out, "Oh, my god! Lu Fang's phone has a virus! Please, please, no! Please turn on again."
She tried accessing Lu Fang's phone earlier but minutes after she had it hooked to her laptop; the windows closed down and her files got deleted one by one. Before she knew it, her system froze completely and lost power.
Another half an hour passed, and she had been trying to turn on her personal computer. She feared she may have lost most of her hard work, worst her personal files. It was only an hour before their meeting when Megan finally recognized her laptop was dead.
She had no choice but to move on and get ready. It worried her that she ended up answering the call from Lu Fang's wife, but she soothed herself down and suggested to herself, "Just remain confident... pretend to be completely unaware, Megan. They will never find out it was you."
