Chapter 248 - Sole Fish

Global China rented a small conference room for their appointment with the new contractor. They discussed the matters of the contract over snacks and coffee. 

Megan covered her nerves by looking exceptionally pleasing for their meeting. She flaunted her beauty to their new partners and put on a confident smile all throughout. 

If anything, she was a very sociable person, and this was one reason Pie Liqin entrusted her with the job. Aside from being loyal to the Pie family, Megan easily won the hearts of investors and associates, especially the men. 

She had a very slender body and although she wasn't gifted in both her chest and behind, her tall sexy figure made up for what she lacked. She also had very fair skin and the most alluring smokey eyes which was often praised. 

Even before they started discussing the terms of the contract, Megan received several compliments involving Lu Fang to it. 

"You are very beautiful and accommodating, Ms. Wong."

"Are you and Mr. Lu a couple? You look good together," said Mr. Zemin. He was the superior of the contractor's team, already in his fifties. 

Megan giggled while covering her lips. She blushed altogether but did not deny the remark. Her actions made Go Bolin's eyes roll. 

"If you are interested with Ms. Wong, you should date her. I, on the other hand, am happily married," the man bluntly said. 

A few interested parties exclaimed happily after Lu Fang's announcement, making Megan's brows drew together. She reckoned it was fine for him to object but he did not have to push her to an old man. Nonetheless, instead of sulking, she fixated herself to impress everyone in the table. 

She comprehensively discussed the matters of the contract, maintaining her pleasant smile and sometimes, she would talk about their personal interest. Megan was prepared with her insights having already done her research about the executives.

"We should celebrate this new partnership. Especially us! It is such an honor working with Global China and Lu-Wei Enterprises! There is a famous restaurant featuring live sole fishes! It is just delicious," Mr. Zemin invited, after signing the contract on behalf of his company. 

"Thank you for the invitation, Mr. Zemin, but I have to get home to my family - "

"I love sole fish! We'd be happy to come!"

Everyone turned their gaze to a slender woman who had the brightest face with brown eyes. She had short, slightly waved brown hair, and she walked collectedly towards them in a casual pink long-sleeved belted shirt, made into a dress. 

The gentlemen in the room were quickly awed by her angelic features. 

"Excuse me, miss. You might have the wrong conference room. This is a private function booked by Global China," Megan immediately approached, suggesting for her to leave. 

Simultaneously, Lu Fang's heart pounded at the sound of his wife's voice. There was no mistake. It belonged to Andrea. He stood up while trying to hold a grin and as soon as his eyes met hers, his face slightly flushed.

It was normal for the old Andrea to come after him, but as for the new Andrea? Lu Fang never in a million years expected for her to come for him. It melted his senses completely. 

Andrea smiled at Megan innocently and replied, "I'm perfectly in the right room. Uncle Pie Wang sent me." 

She was about to introduce herself when her husband came in front of her and gently held her by the neck with one hand. He sealed her lips without warning. She happily opened her mouth, and the two shared a sensational kiss in front of Megan who was standing a meter away from them. 

They pulled away after seconds. Lu Fang gave her a peck before turning to the individuals in the room.

He cleared his throat and introduced her, "I'm sorry, gentlemen. I was surprised and happy at the same time. Excuse me for my sudden display of affection. This is my wife, Andrea. She is also a shareholder of Global China."

"How wonderful, Mr. Lu! Your wife is very beautiful."

"We understand now why you would not give the slightest attention to - "Mr. Zemin cut himself off, changed his line of thought entirely. " No wonder he would not turn to other women!"

"Thank you. She is my prize," Lu Fang responded while putting an arm around Andrea. She also reciprocated by putting her arm around his waist.

While the gentlemen were praising Andrea, Megan was burning in jealousy. She once again witnessed Lu Fang completely changed character with the arrival of his wife. It did not take long for her to realize, however, that Andrea might have come because of her actions. She thought, 'Did she know? Is she suspecting anything?'

'No, impossible. She smiled at me nicely,' Megan told herself silently. She was confident that no one saw her when she took the phones from Bolin, thus she remained composed as she went back to her seat. 

"So shall we have dinner? As I said earlier, I love sole fish!" Andrea said.

Lu Fang looked at her and asked, "Babe? Are you sure about that?"

The two stood as they talked and before answering, she gave him a wink. "Yes, babe. I thought maybe we should spend the night here and leave for Guangzhou tomorrow afternoon instead."

Hearing this, the man shifted to Megan saying, "You may go ahead as we will be returning tomorrow."

Megan beamed at them, but she would not miss it for the world. Finally, she would get to know what made Lu Fang's wife special. She refused to be left out in the gathering, "I'll come along. I'm feeling a little hungry myself. I'll head back with you tomorrow."

"Besides," she added. "I'd like to get to know Mrs. Lu."

Andrea smiled and pretended to look forward to spending time with her. She asked, "Have you eaten a sole fish, Megan?"

"No, I haven't and seeing everyone's excitement, I absolutely want to try it."

"Sole fishes have a flat body. It makes them easy to hide under the sand, making them masters in disguise as they hunt for their prey."

Puzzled with being educated by Andrea, she simply acknowledged, "I see. That's interesting."

"I've heard so much about you, Megan. Uncle Pie tells me you easily blend in and you're very good at striking when the iron is hot." Andrea then covered her mouth lightly as if having a lightbulb moment. She giggled before adding, "Oh my! You are just like a sole fish!"

Mr. Zemin and one the men, who were familiar with fish, laughed at the coincidence that Megan faked a laugh herself. 

"It's a good thing you agreed to come so you can try it for yourself. I love eating sole fishes," Andrea said, enunciating every word towards the end while her eyes glued at Megan. 

Megan gulped at her words, wondering if there was a deeper meaning to it, but she convinced herself otherwise, saying, 'She is just trying to be funny, Megan. Chill.'
