Chapter 75 - Should we up his allowance?

Han Ye smiled and shook his head. "That kid…"

Lu Ziyan smirked, "This is a good lesson for you in case you want to have kids… I think with the current competitive world, the kids are going to start getting white hair earlier than before."

"Should we up his allowance? He can buy himself some nourishment," Han Ye asked. He was sure that the allowance that he and Lu Ziyan gave to Tian Le was at "market price", but he could not help but worry if it was not enough for the boy.

Lu Ziyan waved his hand dismissively. "No need. Now that he has a girlfriend, do you really want him to be so nourished?"

"Erm… Yeah, you're right. When we go out tomorrow, remind me to buy him a few packs of chicken essence. He just needs something for his brain. His body can rot until he's done with school," Han Ye said with a chuckle. Obviously, he was joking about his last sentence.

Lu Ziyan nodded. He then yawned before he said, "I'm going to shower and sleep. You?"

"The same… I'll clean here. Go."

"Goodnight, man who takes care of my brother…"

"That is gross! Can't you just call me older brother? Hyung if you want."

"How about oni-san?"

"Still gross! I'm in my thirties, and so are you! Anyway, go away. Goodnight."

Lu Ziyan laughed softly as he wheeled himself back to his room.

Once Han Ye cleaned up the dining area, he went back to his room. When he got in, Tian Le was still reading one of Han Ye's economics books. Tian Le's artificial leg was on the floor next to the bed, and he had covered both his legs with the comforter.

Even though he had accepted his disability, Tian Le still hated it if someone were to stare at his stump.

"It's late. Stop reading. Didn't you say you're tired?" Han Ye said. He removed his contact lenses and put them back into their case. He then put on his glasses before he turned off the light.

When the room turned completely dark, saved for some light that came from the moon outside, Tian Le switched on the light beside the table before he said in an annoyed tone, "Hey, at least give me a warning. I'm reading an interesting chapter… I'll sleep after I finish it."

"You're going to need glasses like me one day if you keep reading like that…"

Han Ye removed his glasses and placed it on the nightstand at the side of his bed before he climbed in. He then took a peek at what chapter Tian Le was reading.

"Oh, closed-end fund… That's an interesting chapter."

"Yeah, I can tell by all the notes you made on this book…" Tian Le replied as he flipped to the next page.

"So… First girlfriend, huh?" Han Ye asked as he lay on his stomach and rested his chin on his palm while he looked at Tian Le.

Tian Le groaned and covered his face with the book before he mumbled, "Please leave me alone. We just got together recently, and it's not stable enough. That's why I didn't tell you guys."

Han Ye chuckled. "Fine, I won't ask you… I'll ask her when I see her next time. So, how's school?"

"It's good."

"You aren't getting bullied, are you? If you are, you can tell me…"

"You asked me the same question every time I come back. It's annoying, do you know that?" Tian Le said as he rolled his eyes. However, despite what he said, he had a slight smile on his face.

When he noticed that Han Ye was still staring at him, he then closed his book before he continued, "There are idiots who like to annoy me every now and then, but they are merely using their words. Nothing I can't handle myself so far."

There were some kids that called him "Robot Leg" or just outright mean stuff like "Crippled Boy". Since he grew up in an orphanage and took over the role of a carer from an early age, Tian Le had plenty of patience dealing with immature kids.

He basically just treated them like how he did with the babies at the orphanage.

Tian Le then placed the book on the nightstand next to him. He switched off the light and completely lay down on the bed.

"I just want you to know that if anything happens, there's me and Ziyan," Han Ye said as he lay down on his back. "We are not just here to take care of you until you're 18 years old. We really want to be your brothers."

Tian Le slapped a hand down on Han Ye's stomach which caused the man to cry out.

"Hey!"

Tian Le laughed. "Don't be so mushy, please… Besides, I'm not a pushover. I'm just a patient person. If someone dares to get physical with me, I'll fight back. After all, I can't let my Mama Zhen down…"

Han Ye chuckled. "Fine… By the way, she asked for you. I think you better visit her soon before she gets crazy…"

Tian Le closed his eyes and yawned. He then said sleepily as he turned to face the other side, "We can drop by their place tomorrow before I go back to school. But I'm really tired now… Let's talk tomorrow."

Han Ye chuckled. "Fine… Goodnight…"

....

The next morning, when Angela woke up, she was just about to think of what to wear when she heard a knock on the door.

"Angela, are you awake? It's me, Han Ye."

"Yes… But I'm not ready yet."

Han Ye placed the bag that he was holding down on the floor before he said, "I had someone brought over a set of clothes for you to change into. I'll leave it outside the door. If it doesn't fit, you can just let me know. I'll think of something."

"Alright, thanks…"

After she heard him walking away, Angela opened the door and quickly took the bag that contained clothes before closing the door again.

He brought her two sets of clothes: a simple t-shirt and jeans, and a dress. There was also brand new underwear in it. She chose to wear the dress. By the time she was ready, it was already 11 am. When she got out of the room, she was surprised to see a teenager, who was laying down on the couch, and a man in a wheelchair.

They were playing games intently and did not notice her at all.

Based on what Han Ye told him yesterday, she figured the teenager was his foster brother, Tian Le, and the wheelchair guy was his housemate, Lu Ziyan.

"F*ck… Everyone in this house is so good looking…" she thought.

"Oh, you're out," Han Ye said with a smile as he looked at her.

He was in the kitchen when he noticed her, and he was wearing a blue apron with the words "Oldest Brother" embroidered on it while holding a spatula.
