Chapter 76 - I'm making snacks for that kid there

With a polite smile, he said, "Just a while more… I'm making snacks for that kid there. That's the youngest member in this family, Tian Le, and that guy getting pummeled by a kid there is Lu Ziyan, my housemate." 

Angela Zhang nodded. 

The other two people in the house finally noticed her, and Tian Le immediately sat up straight. When she saw his artificial limb, she did not say anything. Instead, she merely waited at the dining area. 

Tian Le and Lu Ziyan exchanged glances but they did not say anything. They figured that she was probably shy, and so, they went back to their games. 

Once Han Ye was done making the egg sandwich for Tian Le, he said to Angela Zhang, "I'll go change. After this, we can go out." 

Angela Zhang nodded. 

Han Ye took the sandwich to the couch and gave it to Tian Le before he said, "We're leaving in 5. End him." 

"5? I can end him in 3 minutes," Tian Le bragged before he took a huge bite out of the sandwich. With his mouth full, he murmured, "Drank qiu…" 

"I've been practicing!" Lu Ziyan said with a frown. He might probably be the world's best hacker, but when it came to games, he kept losing to Tian Le. 

When Han Ye came out of his room in a fresh set of clothes, Lu Ziyan was sitting in his wheelchair with his head down. 

"Did you lose again?"

Tian Le smirked, "I'm the best in gaming. There's no way you can win me…" 

Lu Ziyan rolled his eyes. He then looked up and said, "Ready to go?" 

"Yeah, let's go…" Tian Le said as he wheeled Lu Ziyan around.

After Lu Ziyan and Tian Le left the house, Angela Zhang tugged Han Ye's sleeve and whispered, "They are coming with us?" 

"Yeah, it's Sunday. We hang out together every Sunday," Han Ye answered nonchalantly as he put on his shoes. 

Angela Zhang had a disappointed look on her face. Despite their looks, she did not care much for them. She just wanted to hang out with Han Ye. However, she could not let it show. Not now…

He then helped Angela Zhang by letting him use his shoulder to stable herself while she put on her heels.

Their close proximity caused Han Ye to blush slightly, especially when he could see the top of her cleavage that was peeking out from the dress. While he did his best to keep his eyes up, he whispered, "Ready?" 

Angela Zhang nodded, all the while smiling inside. 

When Han Ye and Angela Zhang finally left the house, he saw Lu Ziyan and Tian Le talking to their new neighbor. 

As his view was blocked by that person's door, he could not see it clearly. 

When Tian Le saw Han Ye, he said, "Oh, that's our oldest brother. Han Ye, meet our new neighbor. Her name is Xiao Xiao Lei." 

When Han Ye and Xiao Lei heard each other's names, they froze. The former froze because he was just surprised by her sudden appearance as his neighbor.

The latter froze because she knew that she had been played by Luo Guangying and Callum. There was no way they would not know about Han Ye living here.

When they sent her over last night, they merely told her that she would be safe here, and if she ever needed anything, her next-door neighbor was their friends and would be able to help her. 

When she asked them about the neighbor, they did not mention the neighbor's name. Instead, they merely told her that her neighbor was a good cook and could clean well too. And if she needed help for either, she could just ask him for help. 

Before they left her alone last night, Luo Guangying said, "Director Shenlong and I might be busy, and if you need us, we might be unable to come. And we might be going overseas to settle something. So, if there's anything urgent, just go next door. You can trust everyone that lived next door. They are all our friends." 

Xiao Lei was so grateful to have a place to stay in that she did not ask them any further questions. Besides, because Callum kept yawning the whole time, she felt that it would be rude of her if she kept them there with her questions. 

"What the hell…" she cursed in her heart before she walked out further so that she could see Han Ye. With a fake smile plastered on her face, she waved and said, "What a coincidence…" 

"Xiao Lei… How?" Han Ye asked with a curious expression. 

"Guangying and Callum…" said Xiao Lei. Since those two were insistent in her calling them by their names, she decided to do as they wish. "They don't want me to stay at the hotel every day, so they sent me over last night…" 

Han Ye thought for a moment before he nodded. "I think it's better this way. If Callum and Guangying are busy, it'd easier for me to take you to and fro the hospital, and if I'm busy, Ziyan works from home most of the time, so there would be less for them to worry about."

He then looked at her and smiled. "Besides, the hotel has too many people coming in and out. It would be safer here. The security here is very strict and every entry is recorded. While the security at the hotel is tight, here is still better." 

Xiao Lei nodded. "That's what Guangying said as well…" 

"Oh! So you guys met before? You even know Brother Guangying and Brother Callum?" Tian Le asked.

When Xiao Lei nodded, he then smiled and asked, "Great. Since you know them, Sister Xiao Lei, do you want to go for breakfast with us?"

At the mention of breakfast, her stomach growl. With her cheeks reddened, she nodded. "Yes, please… If it's not too much trouble… I don't know what's nice here yet…"

"No trouble at all…" Lu Ziyan said with a smile. "Let's go, before Tian Le complains again."

"Hey!" Tian Le rolled his eyes at his older foster brother. 

"Just come with us, Xiao Lei. It would be much more fun to eat with us then by yourself," Han Ye said graciously. He then glanced at Angela Zhang before he looked back at Xiao Lei. "I nearly forgot. This is Angela, and she's... my friend."

Xiao Lei nodded and offered a hand to Angela Zhang. Angela Zhang looked at it for a second before she shook it half-heartedly. Her action was noticed by Lu Ziyan, who was the only one who saw it. 

However, he merely dismissed it as Angela being shy. 

"She's Han Ye's new special friend..." Tian Le smirked as he leaned forward to whisper to Xiao Lei. When Han Ye narrowed his eyes at him as a warning, the teenager merely laughed before he walked to the lift.
