Chapter 223 - You. Talk

As far as he knew, Yun Qi was not someone who would talk to her family about their conversation, especially when her father and older brother hated Xiao Zhihao and his parents.

Yun Wei shifted his eyes suspiciously as he mumbled, "Y-Yun Qi told me."

Xiao Zhihao noticed that Yun Wei was clenching his fists tightly, and there were beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

He narrowed his eyes suspiciously before asking in a threatening tone, "Where's Yun Qi?"

"She's not here!" Yun Wei said in a low voice. "Leave now... He's still sleeping!"

Xiao Zhihao frowned. He tried to peek into the house, but Yun Wei blocked his view.

"Where's Yun Qi? She usually stays at home on weekends. Where is she?!" Xiao Zhihao demanded to know as he glared at Yun Wei. He had a bad feeling about this, and his guts were telling him not to let this matter go.

"I told you, she's not here!"

Xiao Zhihao did what his father taught him before; a technique to be used when dealing with someone bigger than him. He landed a sharp, quick punch on Yun Wei's guts. He might be small, but he inherited his mother's strength. The unexpected punch to the guts caused the thin older boy to clutch his stomach and bowl over.

Xiao Zhihao then pulled Yun Wei out and threw him into the lawn. Without caring for the older boy's wellbeing, Xiao Zhihao then ran all the way back into the house. He ignored the messy state of the house and went straight to Yun Qi's room, which was next to the stairs, but she was not there.

"Something's not right..." he thought as he glanced around her room. There were cigarette butts lying around, as if someone had been smoking here. Xiao Zhihao frowned. Yun Qi would always clean up her room.

He walked in and placed a hand on her small desk. "Dust..." he thought worriedly. For someone as studious as her, her desk should have been the cleanest. But given the thickness of the dust, it had not been used for a while.

Xiao Zhihao went to her room window, which was directly opposite his, and he smiled slightly at the memory of them talking at night. Well, mostly gesturing. Her father did not like noise, so they would often communicate with facial gestures and simple sign language.

Xiao Zhihao was about to turn away when he noticed something. In his small backyard, there was a small area that looked to be different from others... almost as if someone had been digging there.

He stared at it for a few seconds before shaking his head. Based on the state of the backyard, broken lawn chair, beer bottles were strewn everywhere, cigarette butts, and torn clothes, it was obvious that his "kind" neighbors had been using it as some sort of base for their notorious activities.

They probably dug up the soil in their drugged state.

"F*ck them..." he thought angrily. How could those people desecrate the house that his father bought with his hard-earned money?!

He turned away, only to see Yun Qi's father at the door. His previously huge beer belly was even bigger now, and his face was flushed and smudged with dirt while his eyes were unfocused. Xiao Zhihao frowned. His nose twitched when he smelled the odor that was coming from the man. It was a putrid smell made from the combination of alcohol and pee.

The man narrowed his eyes at Xiao Zhihao for a few seconds before he mumbled, "You... You're the b*stard's son..."

"Where's Yun Qi?" Xiao Zhihao asked with his fists clenched. Truth be told, he was a little afraid of the man. No matter what, the man was a lot bigger than him. "I'm looking for Yun Qi."

The man sneered, "B*tch left the world for all I care..."

Xiao Zhihao frowned. He walked past Yun Qi's father and accidentally bumped his shoulder hard as he walked past the narrow door, which caused the man to be angry.

The man watched as Xiao Zhihao walked to the top of the stairs and began to descend. When he thought about the time where Xiao Yunjie humiliated him by beating him in front of everyone, his drug-fuelled anger blinded him and he rushed toward the boy.

He raised a leg and kicked Xiao Zhihao in the back, catching him off guard, and causing Xiao Zhihao to fall down from the stairs.

Thud!

Thud!

Thud!

Xiao Zhihao winced with each impact, and he would have knocked his head against the floor if Yun Wei did not catch him at the bottom of the stairs and broke his fall.

"Urgh..." Yun Wei and Xiao Zhihao groaned from the pain. Even though Yun Wei broke Xiao Zhihao's hall, the pain from the impact when Xiao Zhihao crashed into him was too great for both of them to ignore.

"B*stard..." Yun Qi and Yun Wei's father sneered.

"Dad... Please... Not again..." Yun Wei begged.

"F*ck off!" the man snarled. He slowly stumbled down from the stairs as he snapped, "That b*stard thought he's so powerful... I'm going to f*ck his son up badly... See if he dares to talk down to me anymore!"

He pulled out his belt, the buckle of which was stained with blood, and menacingly moved toward Yun Wei and Xiao Zhihao. When Yun Wei saw the belt, he shivered and lowered his head slightly. Even though by law, he was already an a.d.u.l.t, but when faced with his father, he still felt like a defenseless boy, who was at his father's mercy.

Just as he was a step away, a cold voice said, "One more step and I'll decorate these walls with your brain."

Xiao Zhihao, Yun Wei, and the man turned to the voice.

"Uncle Callum!" Xiao Yunjie called out when he saw Callum, who was leveling a gun at the man's head.

"Are you alright, Zhihao?" Callum asked in a calm voice.

When he and Luo Guangying saw Xiao Zhihao throwing the boy out into the dirty, messy lawn with overgrown weed and grass, they were worried.

"I think he can handle it," Callum said.

Luo Guangying did not reply. He merely kept his eyes on the dilapidated house. After a while, he shook his head and said, "Let me go check on him."

He was worried that there might be someone else in the house, especially when the older boy rushed in after writhing in pain for a while.

"I'll go!" Callum said. He pulled out a gun from under his seat and said, "I'll be back soon."

Because of his previously broken left hand, which tended to tremble, Luo Guangying could only use one hand for shooting, and his accuracy was not the best yet.

Xiao Zhihao looked at Callum and said in a worried tone, "I can't find her..."

Without taking his eyes off the man, who was now trembling in fear, Callum slowly inched his way to Xiao Zhihao and helped him to stand.

"Leave first. Go to Guangying. I'll handle here. Can you walk?"

Xiao Zhihao looked at Yun Qi's father. He then looked back at Callum and nodded.

It was a good thing he did not break anything, otherwise, it would be hard for him to walk by himself.

Once Xiao Zhihao left the house, Callum smirked and said, "I see you enjoy hurting the weaker ones. How about hurting me then?"

"W-who the f*ck are you?!" the man yelled. He had never taken his eyes off the gun.

Callum put the gun away. He glanced at Yun Wei, who was looking at him in fear, and frowned. "The boy's changed..." Callum thought as he looked at Yun Wei, who was nothing like what he remembered. In Callum's eyes, Yun Wei looked thinner and there was more fear in his eyes.

Callum glared at the man and slowly stalked toward him.

Perhaps because the man was high on drugs at the moment, with every step that Callum took toward him, the man saw that a feature of Callum was changed. First, it was Callum's hands, which to the man's muddled mind had turned into a pair of huge, monstrous hands with sharp claws. Then, it was Callum's legs, which turned into thick green thighs.

"N-no..." the man begged as he fell and sat down on the stairs. He slowly inched up the stairs as he mumbled, "N-no! God of Death! Don't kill me!"

"Where's the girl?" Callum asked in a cold voice. "What have you done with her?"

"It was an accident!" the man yelled in fear. "I didn't... I didn't mean to do it!"

Callum frowned. He had a bad feeling about this. He picked up the man easily, as if he weighed nothing, He hated the stink that came from the man's body, but he had to clarify this. "Where is the girl?"

The man's eyes were wide open in fear. To him, Callum was no longer human, but a God of Death who was here to punish him. His heart could not handle it any longer, and he soon fainted from fear.

"F*ck!" Callum cursed and dropped the man onto the ground. He then turned his eyes to Yun Wei and said, "You. Talk."
