Chapter 239 - I'll kill you, kid!

He wanted to grab some of the gold bars with him first, and he made her stand away from the entrance as he greedily stuffed the gold bars into his backpack.

Little Fan Wushuang watched his movement as she slowly inched toward the next door. He was so engrossed and happily stuffing his backpack that he did not notice that she was already at the front of the door.

He thought that this door was like the previous ones, where it would take some time to open. Unknown to him, all the doors could be open fairly easily and within seconds. It was just that she had been faking it all along in order for her plan to work out.

Little Fan Wushuang faced him as she stood next to the door. She placed her hand on the wall behind her, making it appear as if she were bored and just touching around like what kids were prone to do.

When she found a small unstable part of the wall, she carefully pulled the lid up open and pressed her thumb onto the sensor that was hiding beneath the lid, which then opened the door.

Click!

The sound of the door being unlocked alerted the man. However, it was too late. By the time he looked toward the door, Little Fan Wushuang had already slipped past it and closed it behind her.

He then cursed and looked toward the entrance, hoping to run out from there. Afraid that the door might be closed by winds or something else, he had placed a wad of money as a stopper at each door. He figured that with so much cash, he could use some as doorstoppers without feeling guilty.

Unfortunately for him, this vault was designed by President Fan Lei and his wife himself.

When Little Fan Wushuang used the fake-wall sensor, she activated all the hidden automatic doors. The man did not notice this previously, but all the walls that were next to the doors were actually sliding doors.

The moment Little Fan Wushuang closed the door behind her, all the sliding doors closed themselves at the same time. Except for the first entrance, all the other entrances were sealed off from both sides.

Once activated, these doors would not budge. The only way to get out was to get the people whose thumbprints could unlock the doors, and it had to be unlocked one by one. And in this world, with President Fan Lei and Chen Qingting's passing, only Fan Shaohang and Fan Wushuang's thumbprints would work. Well, that and a secondary passcode, which was completely different from the passcodes that Little Fan Wushuang used earlier.

"F*ck! I'll kill you, kid!" the man yelled as he banged at the door. He even picked up some of the gold bars and threw it at the doors. The gold bars barely left dents on the doors. "F*CK!" he cursed. "You won't be able to leave as well!"

He figured that she had to come out of the room sooner or later.

A while later, he heard a static noise, followed by a cold voice, "What is it like to be the one in captive now?"

It was Little Fan Wushuang's voice.

After she closed the door behind her, she had gone straight to the last room. Unknown to the man, the last room had an exit, which led back to a different room in the house.

After Little Fan Wushuang climbed out from under an a.d.u.l.t-sized bed, she went to the IT room, which was hidden behind a bookcase, which was also basically a surveillance room.

She lied to the man earlier. There might be no surveillance cameras inside and outside the house, but there were hidden cameras under the house.

She was looking at the man through a TV now. Her father had taught her how to operate everything from the moment she was old enough. And each year, on her birthday, he would take her back so that she could relearn everything.

"Guess what, this isn't just a toy house... It's a safe house built specifically for me..." she said with a sneer through the microphone.

"I'll kill you!" the man yelled.

Little Fan Wushuang could not hear his response since she could not be bothered to turn on the microphones on his side, but she could tell what he was saying by how twisted his expression was. She laughed into the microphone and taunted, "Why don't you try to use your phone and call for help?"

She watched as the man stood there for a few seconds before running to his backpack. He took out the gold bars as well as the wad of cash inside before throwing them aside, as if they were no longer important to him.

When he found his phone, he tried to make a call, only to find that there was no signal.

Little Fan Wushuang laughed. "Oops. I forgot. Not only are you underground at the moment, but there's also something here that interferes with your signal. I won't be playing around with you anymore. I hope you are happy that you can die rich, because I won't be letting you out. I wonder how you will die... Starvation, thirst, or lack of air... Hmm... Anyway, ciao~"

She watched as his face turned pale. He got down on his knees and appeared to be begging, but Little Fan Wushuang turned off the TV coldly. She knew that her uncle and her aunt would not know how to go through the underground, but just in case, she got rid of all the evidence.

She messed up the dust pattern in the house to throw off any leads. She then went back to the room with the kid-sized bed. After rummaging around her desk and found the scissors that she was looking for, she went to the bookshelf and cut off the wire that would release the trap door of the bed.

She then went to the kitchen and found a few cans of SPAM. Some of it had expired, but she found two cans of SPAM that were near the expiration date.

Even though it was gross, she still opened it and ate it. It had probably been two days since she last ate. When she felt thirsty, she just drank from the pipe. Once she was done eating, she took the other can of SPAM with her and went back to the room with the a.d.u.l.t-sized bed.

She looked at her hand with the cut, which was still wrapped in the piece of dirty cloth. After thinking for a while, she went to the small bedside table and took out a small first aid kit from the drawer.

Once she washed her hand clean, she sat down on the bed and slowly treated her hand while crying softly. "Daddy, Mummy, this world is so scary without you guys..."

She could still remember her parents who would bandage up all of her wounds lovingly. Whenever she got injured, they would carefully clean her wounds and blow air on them so that the cold air would soothe the wounds.

"I miss you guys..." she cried loudly all of a sudden. She cried out all of her frustration and her pain of losing her parents, of being betrayed by her uncle. She cried out the fear that was in her heart as she tried to trick the kidnapper. Everything...

However, she knew that she could not stay here for long, so she did not allow herself to cry for too long. She did not know if her uncle and aunt would look for the kidnapper. Hence, she had to move fast.
