Chapter 43 - et’s Go Together

Yang Dashan smiled honestly, but he didn’t know what to say.

Yue Jiaojiao looked at Li Miao in a daze and spoke in a teasing voice, “Li Miao, I think Dashan is quite good to you, you know.”

As she spoke, she used the serving chopsticks to pick up some tofu and bean sprouts for Li Miao. “Try Zhao Zhan’s cooking.”

“I’ve never seen something like this before. We’re just here for a casual meal. How could you prepare such a precious looking meal? You’re too much!” Li Miao said as she looked at the white, tender, and golden looking sprouts in the bowl.

“It wasn’t too much of a hassle to prepare. Try it first.”

Yue Jiaojiao admired Li Miao’s generous personality. It showed that she didn’t like to take advantage of others. Moreover, she had a straightforward personality, but she was also considerate of others. Her husband, Yang Dashan, was also a simple and honest man.

Yang Dashan didn’t think too much into it. He picked up a piece of tofu with his chopsticks and put it in his mouth. He widened his eyes and said in surprise, “What is this? How is it so soft and delicious? This is the first time I’ve tasted something more delicious than meat!”

“Dashan, try this yellow bean sprout.” Zhao Zhan nodded his chin at the plate on the table. “This tastes amazing.”

Yang Dashan couldn’t wait to pick up a piece with his chopsticks.

“This is also delicious, how do I describe the feeling when I eat it?” Yang Dashan couldn’t think of it for a long time. “I don’t know, all I can say is that it’s delicious.”

Li Miao, who was sitting next to him, was the first to laugh.

“Since we’re already familiar with Jiaojiao, I feel more at ease to ask. But, how did you make this? It’s so delicious. Winter is coming soon, and my cellar is only full of cabbages. Can you eat this in winter?”

“Of course you can. Whether it’s tofu or bean sprouts, you can eat them during any season. But Zhao Zhan has always been in charge of farming. You have to ask him if you can plant these first.”

“What does this have to do with farming?” Li Miao asked, confused.

Although Yang Dashan was young, he had enough experience in the field. At this moment, his eyes lit up and he looked at Zhao Zhan. “Was this the thing you planted in the field recently? The seeds you planted made these?”

“Dashan, whether it’s tofu or bean sprouts, they’re all made of soybeans,” Zhao Zhan said with confidence and clarity. “After the soybeans are harvested and processed, they can be turned into many different ingredients. What we made today is actually only two types. There are many other ways to eat them. As for the millet pepper that I planted today, Dashan, you can try this plate of chicken.”

Yang Dashan saw the plate of chicken on the table as soon as he sat down.

However, it was suspiciously red. He didn’t know what he had used to burn it, so he hesitated and didn’t eat it at first.

When he heard Zhao Zhan asking him to try it, Yang Dashan couldn’t help but pick up some chicken with his chopsticks with excitement now.

Zhao Zhan made the spicy chicken while Yue Jiaojiao was in charge of eating.

However, considering that it was the first time Yang Dashan and his wife ate spicy food, he didn’t put a lot of chili in it.

The chicken was mixed with the chili that was cut into sections, and the skin of the pepper was mixed in the middle. Yang Dashan put it into his mouth and wanted to vomit but he was reluctant to do so. He swallowed it down.

“Dashan, what’s wrong?”

Li Miao asked with concern. Her chopsticks — which were about to pick up a piece of chicken — slightly hesitated when it was closer to the meat.
