Chapter 83 - Surprised

Sera turned to face Lucifer, her face blooming a beautiful smile, her gentle voice tickling Lucifer's heart as though teased with feathers.

"So? Where are we going?", Lucifer turned to see her smiling face and stretched out his hand to stroke her cheeks lovingly.

"It's a surprise, You'll see when we get there", his vague answer made Sera's curiosity reach its peak, she scrunched her eyebrows in deep thought and turned to look out of the window.

Lucifer concentrated on driving, leaving Sera occupied with her thoughts, a mysterious smile in his gray eyes.

The drive was nearly an hour and half long from Lu mansion, Sera wasn't familiar with the city, filled with curiosity she could only peer through the windows.

The car finally came to a halt and Lucifer alighted, Sera sat perusing around with her eyes wide. Lucifer opened the car door, he ushered her holding her small palm into his large ones, their fingers entwined.

Sera glanced at their hands, then to the man beside her, with the sun shining brightly on his countenance he looked like a heavenly being, she was mesmerized by his magnificence.

Lucifer peered down at Sera, her starry eyes confounding him. He raised his chin asking her what's wrong, to which Sera just shook her head and smiled, sauntering forward with him.

The view ahead was beautiful, the serene beauty of the lake was calming as well as fascinating. The water was blue with birds hovering over it, there were trees in the distance, it was a picturesque sight.

Sera was so enthralled by the sight before her that she had hardly noticed the distance between her and Lucifer, she had left his hand to wander around.

Lucifer who was gazing at her, equally captivated by her allure, her starry eyes, childlike expressions, everything about her.

Sera turned around to see Lucifer's grinning face, she ran back to him and hugged his waist. Lucifer pushed back the stray hairs flying along the wind, to see her face clearly.

"You always seem to leave my hand first..", Lucifer mumbled, Sera couldn't understand him and looked at him innocently. A helpless Lucifer shook his head and pecked her forehead.

"It's so beautiful here..", Sera mumbled against his chest.

"Come on, I have to show you something else..", Lucifer held her waist and walked ahead.

They walked in the opposite direction of the lake, after about 10 minutes walk they reached their destination. Lucifer led her into a huge metal gate, Sera had a puzzled look on her face staring ahead.

It was a beautiful two storied building in white, very huge with glass walls, a rubble pathway that led to its entrance, the compound had a beautiful lawn with plants and trees planted inside. Sera looked at Lucifer who only nudged her to go ahead.

Sera walked inside, the building was empty with only a few art pieces here and there, a vase and a couple of paintings. Sera was confused,

"Why are we here?", she thought inwardly.

Lucifer walked in and stood at the corner watching her, she was looking around with a muddled expression. Her eyes darting around the room confusion clearly etched in them.

Lucifer was amazed at her obedience, never once did she doubt him and followed his instructions. Lucifer felt helpless at her naivety, he decided to lecture her about the importance of safety measures. He's started to feel like a worrywart parent.

"Let's see upstairs", Lucifer spoke and went ahead. Sera heeded to Lucifer and followed behind him

The place was really big and it was perfect for her art gallery. Just as this thought crossed her mind, bewildered Sera turned to look at Lucifer,

"Do you like it?", Sera was feeling conflicted, how? Feeling exhilarated she could only nod her head, with tears in her eyes and a blooming smile on her rosy lips.

Lucifer wiped her tears and turned her around hugging her waist, looking through the glass window they could clearly see the lake from here. The pair stood silently basking in the moment, feeling peaceful and at home.

"How? How did you know?", Sera broke the silence after sometime.

"I'm sorry Sera, I never tried to know you. I feel so ashamed that I had to know about this from Ethan...", Lucifer said earnestly shocking Sera who hurriedly interrupted him.

"It's okay Lucifer, I didn't try to tell you as well. It's not your fault, we both have to take responsibility, it's not just you.. I'm sorry too", Sera held his hand around her waist and squeezed it lightly.

"Well, then, let's forget this and start over", saying that Lucifer kissed her hair softly. Sera nodded with a blissful smile.
