Chapter 21: Light Mage
When Adam came into contact with the squirrel, he immediately swung his axe and tore apart the pitiful creature. At that moment, Adam had already entered the berserk mode and his strength had already been increased drastically.
Immediately after he was done with that, he immediately charged towards a tiger that was approaching them with steady steps. From the movements of the tiger, it was clear that it had already become a level one existence. But nevertheless, Adam cared less about that fact.
He swung the axe again with all of his strength. For berserkers, they didn't know what it was to hold back and neither would he have held back had he chosen another profession?
The tiger immediately felt that danger was descending upon it. For that reason, it tried taking a few steps back to evade the attack. But still, its speed was lacking and as a result, the axe managed to inflict a big wound on the rib of the tiger.
Roar!
The tiger was angered by this. It immediately swung its claws to attack Adam. But, the guy didn't even bother to block the attack that was headed to him. Fôllôw new stories at novelhall.com
Instead, he swung his axe once again. And at this moment, a red aura suddenly enveloped him and the axe that he was carrying. Even his eyes had slightly turned red in color. The ferociousness of his attacks increased with his emotions.
The tiger's claws that had not been blocked landed on Adam's chest. But, something that happened next surprised not only Henry and Sarah, but even the tiger was surprised when that happened.
The attack that was supposed to cause a lot of damage to Adam by creating a big wound, did...nothing. It was as if the power of the attack had been dissolved into nothingness. As for the sharp claws, they didn't even leave a single scratch on the red armor that was on Adam's body.
Before the tiger could react, Adam's attack arrived and landed on the tiger's side of the neck. The sharpness of the axe and the strength of Adam's blow immediately severed the head of the tiger from its body.
Thud!
Without even understanding what had happened, the tiger died with a grievance in its heart.
The moment that the tiger's life faded, the red aura that was around Adam suddenly increased in intensity. And at the same time, Adam who was already getting lost in his intent to battle was brought back to his senses.
Feeling the strength that was coursing through his muscles, Adam's eyes shone with excitement. This was something that he had been looking forward to all along. He could only stop being a burden to his brother only if he was strong enough.
"Let Sarah start doing the most of the work. She has a total of one hour to do it, so that her profession can reach the best grading." Henry stated as he observed Sarah shot the arrows one after the other, each one of them hitting the target.
He was surprised by the talent that was showcased by Sarah. She was able to learn after just a few instructions from him during the time she was using the gun. And now that she was using a crossbow, her abilities had been raised to a higher level..
From the way she did things, he had the expectation that she was going to choose the archery profession. After all, her marksmanship was not to be underestimated.
So, the two of them accompanied Sarah as she killed monsters for a whole hour. The more she used the crossbow, the better and more efficient she was at killing the monsters.
Finally, as soon as the one-hour countdown period elapsed, a white light suddenly shone around her body. The light was both relaxing and gave a holy and peaceful aura. As the white light surrounded her, she looked ethereal.
Both Adam and Henry were dumbfounded when they saw that. The reason behind this was simple, they could tell just from the light that was surrounding her what profession she had chosen. But, what about archery? Weren't her archery skills going to be wasted if that was the case.
After Sarah was finally done with receiving the profession, she turned towards Adam and Henry. She saw them looking at her with strange gazes and she couldn't help but wonder what had happened that she had no idea of.
"What profession did you choose?" Henry asked after a moment of silence.
Sarah's heart skipped a beat when she heard the question. She wondered if Henry had some kind of expectation about what profession she had chosen.
Grabbing the helm of the lab coat that was still draped around her, she lowered her head and replied, "I chose the ma... mage profession. A... a light mage to be precise."
Henry was silent after she proved his prediction was wrong. Yes, she had abandoned the archery profession and selected the mage profession. But still, that was completely unexpected according to the skills that she possessed in archery. To say the least, Henry was a little disappointed. But still, there was nothing that he could do about that considering that she had already made her choice and there was no way that could be reversed.
"Come on. Why did you select a mage profession while you are so good when it comes to archery?" Adam asked as he looked at Sarah.
Sarah on the other hand could feel that Henry was disappointed by her choice. But still, if she was given a chance to go back in time, then, she would still make the same choice as the one that she had made, not changing it at all.
To Adam's question, she responded, "I chose the mage profession and the light affinity because I like being a doctor. It has always been my dream to be the best doctor in the world. As for archery and the skills that I know about using the guns, the reason as to why I trained them was simply because my father forced me to do that."
