Chapter 2: This Place is Quite Nice

The cultivation of spiritual power was somewhat troublesome since this world didn't have any spiritual energy to begin with. However, fortunately, the cultivation methods for magical power were different from those for spiritual power.

Magical power came from nature, so as long as there was a presence of nature, one could cultivate magical power.

For the original host, this planet was like a prison, with a harsh and difficult life. But for him, it was simply a paradise. Everywhere he looked, there were pure natural landscapes with few traces of human intervention. Being someone who inherited the bloodline of both dwarves and elves from his mother, he found great love and affinity for the natural world.

Moreover, he learned from the memories of the original host that besides people with special abilities, there was another group of individuals who possessed psychic power. They had the ability to cultivate spirit plants and create potions, which suited him perfectly.

"Young Master, are you really okay?" the old butler couldn't help but express his concern.

The old butler had been brought by the original host's mother when she got married and had been there since the original host's childhood. Their relationship was more like that of a grandfather and grandson.

After the original host was expelled from the family, the old butler made the resolute decision to leave with him, abandoning their previous home.

This planet was one of the private planets owned by the Xiao family. Upon reaching adulthood, every legitimate descendant of the Xiao family, as long as they awakened their beast soul, could claim a piece of land on the family's planet. Those with exceptional potential could even obtain their own planet.

In theory, Xiao Qingyang was not qualified to own a planet.

Although he was the legitimate son of the Xiao family, both his physical constitution and spiritual power were considered subpar, which brought shame to the Xiao family. In order to drive him out without leaving any evidence, the Xiao family transferred ownership of this abandoned, uninhabited mining planet to him, and immediately sent people to accompany him to this place.

Currently, besides the native flora and fauna, Xiao Qingyang, and the old butler, there was no one else on this planet. Even if the old butler was worried and wanted to find a doctor to examine the young master, he had no means to do so.

"It's all my fault. I couldn't protect Young Master. I'm sorry for the Miss's dying wish," the old butler's face, already covered in wrinkles, now had even more creases, and his eyes were full of pain.

It was evident that if Xiao Qingyang hadn't been there to support him, the old steward might have joined his two masters long ago.

"Grandfather Du, I'm really fine. I was just thinking about how to organize this planet and live here," Xiao Qingyang reassured the old steward who had taken care of the original host and his mother for most of their lives. After sorting through the memories of the original host and gaining a preliminary understanding of this new world, he hurriedly comforted the old steward.

Xiao Qingyang knew that the original host held deep respect and closeness for the old steward, and now, having absorbed the original host's memories, he felt an even stronger connection with him. Moreover, the old steward was the first person he had encountered in this new world, and the only person thus far.

"Young master... you want to stay here?" The old steward was momentarily caught off guard by the statement.

Xiao Qingyang understood his reaction. After all, from the moment the original host was brought here and witnessed the circumstances, he knew he had been abandoned by his family. Ever since then, he had been consumed by despair, longing to leave this place and not spend another second here.

"Well, this place is quite nice," Xiao Qingyang fully embraced the reality of his transmigration and accepted the identity and responsibilities of the original host.

Standing up, he surveyed his surroundings and noticed that it wasn't entirely deserted. There were many buildings where people had once lived, most likely remnants from the mining period. After the mining star was abandoned and the workers departed, only these simple structures remained.

Furthermore, the entire planet was adorned with vast forests covered in lush green vegetation and brown mountain ranges. Although it had been abandoned as a mining planet and was too distant from the imperial star to be developed as a tourist destination, it was an incredibly suitable place for Xiao Qingyang to survive, especially considering the depletion of his magical power.

Whether it was dwarves, elves, or cultivators, they all cherished a close bond with nature and sought refuge away from the bustling world. Hence, while this planet may not have been liked or accepted by others, for Xiao Qingyang, it was truly the best gift he had received after transmigrating.

Chapter 3: Assimilating with the Locals

"Grandfather Du, I want to go into the forest and take a look," Xiao Qingyang said.

The original host had reached adulthood and was free to move around. However, considering how he had worried the old steward earlier, Xiao Qingyang felt it was necessary to inform him.

"Alright," the old steward nodded absentmindedly. Clearly, he was still not fully recovered from the shock. However, compared to the previous days when the young master had been gloomy and unresponsive, he was now happy to see him in the mood to explore the outside world. How could he possibly stop him?

Having received permission, Xiao Qingyang immediately dashed towards the forest.

As he entered the forest, basking in the sunlight and feeling the abundant natural energy within, every pore of Xiao Qingyang's body opened up in comfort.

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do." This was the first principle his mother had taught him after revealing her origins.

They couldn't disregard their own abilities; those were their lifelines. But Xiao Qingyang also needed to quickly grow in power within this current world. It was the foundation for his survival here.

Xiao Qingyang's understanding of this world was entirely derived from the original host's memories, but it was only surface-level knowledge.

In this world, people were divided into three categories. The first category consisted of individuals who awakened their beast spirits when they turned eighteen, gaining the ability to transform into both animal and human forms.

When Xiao Qingyang first learned about this information, he was surprised for a moment. It resembled the demonic cultivators in their world, except in their case, they transformed from animals into human forms, while here, it was humans transforming into beast forms. Moreover, it seemed that those who could transform into wild beasts were quite popular, which he couldn't quite comprehend.

The second category of people, equally rare in number, was revered and admired: the alchemists with psychic abilities.

The potions created by alchemists could enhance abilities, heal wounds, and so on—resembling the pills in their world. However, the potions here were always in liquid form. At least in the original host's memories, there was no one who made potions in pill form.

The third category consisted of the most common people, who far outnumbered the others. They neither possessed the powerful physique of the ability users nor the formidable psychic abilities of the alchemists. They were simply ordinary individuals, the most common among humans in any world.

No matter which world it was, ordinary people were always the most abundant.

Although Xiao Qingyang didn't know how potions were made in this world, it didn't hinder him from searching for spiritual plants. After all, he was still an alchemist himself.

"I wonder if the spiritual plants in this world are the same as those in my previous world. If they are, it would be great," Xiao Qingyang mused.

Xiao Qingyang casually walked through the forest, not actively searching for spiritual plants. Bathing in the sunlight and the natural atmosphere, he gladly contemplated spending the night there.

But there was a saying, what was it again? "If you intend to plant flowers, they won't bloom; if you don't, the willows will grow abundantly."

Straight ahead, a familiar plant caught Xiao Qingyang's attention.

Sunflower Grass, one of the most commonly used spiritual plants in alchemy, was a relatively common plant. Its value wasn't particularly high, but encountering a familiar spiritual plant in this otherworldly place brought Xiao Qingyang great happiness.

As the name suggests, Sunflower Grass grows facing the sun and can only thrive in sunny areas. It withers when in shade.

Xiao Qingyang carefully dug up the Sunflower Grass along with the surrounding soil, preparing to transplant it and see if it could survive.

Without spiritual power at the moment and unable to practice alchemy, he could only take care of them for now.

By the time Xiao Qingyang returned to the temporary residence in the afternoon, he held seven or eight Sunflower Grass plants with soil.

The old steward had already tidied up the place. Previously, he had been constantly focused on the young master, fearing he wouldn't be able to accept reality and might do something reckless, leaving him with no time or energy to clean up the house.

Now that it seemed the young master had accepted the reality, and they had no way to leave the planet in the short term, they could only temporarily make their living place clean and comfortable. Even if they were only going to live here for a while, he couldn't let the young master be uncomfortable.
