Eventually, the shockwaves began to change the terrain around Aion and Ugren to the point that it looked like they had fallen from the sky like a meteor. The hole around them was getting bigger and bigger, and only the small area where they were standing still was enduring the impacts.
"This son of a bitch is really tough…" Aion thought while clenching his teeth and ignoring the pain caused by Fury.
It was hard to imagine that Aion had less health than the enemy had mana… considering how skilled he was, his mana pool shouldn't be that large. Still, despite that, the one who lost the exchange first was Aion… his muscles suddenly began to hurt a lot more, and each impact made his joints ring like a bell…
"Shit, my body isn't fully developed, so it can't withstand this much impact…" Aion thought.
When the pain made him flinch, Ugren attacked with a wider swing. Aion had no choice but to assume a defensive stance. However, he still was pushed back… he was sent flying in the opposite direction while making a high-pitching sound… he only stopped when he hit the wall of the city two hundred meters away.
The wall got damaged to the point that it looked like it had been hit by a massive boulder. The impact made the city tremble, but somehow, Aion survived that and landed on his feet after coughing some blood. He used the healing magic that his mother taught him, but Ugren charged again. The downward swing forced Aion to bend his knee again, and this time, it touched the ground.
"Not bad, kid," Ugren said. "If you were five years older, this would have been a tougher fight."
"I don't need five more years to defeat you," Aion said and then summoned several fire arrows and bombarded the enemy.
Ugren ignored the first few, but eventually, his wind armor began to burn too much energy, thanks to the flames. He jumped backward to dodge most of them and then canceled the armor. He felt some mental relief since it was hard for him to keep that focus for several minutes straight…
Now that he was thinking more clearly, Ugren realized that the previous exchange of blows made his blood way too hot. He got carried away since he wasn't the type to enjoy a contest of brute strength… he couldn't deny that he liked that exchange, though. Still, his shoulders and elbows were hurting like hell… he couldn't continue fighting like that…
Aion realized that the enemy also put a lot of strain on his body. While it wasn't on the same level as him, it still made him stop for a while to consider his options. Aion decided to use that chance to recover some of his mana, and he also considered if he should use his coins to increase his parameters… he had a lot in store for that kind of situation anyway.
Since things weren't so noisy close to him, Aion could finally see that things were getting heated up around him. Behind Ugren, Aion could see many enemies burning and a lot of noise coming from the camp as well. Both arms were finally fighting… Still, his plan didn't work perfectly since the enemy was the one pushing around… he had to make that guy land in the middle of his own army.
All of a sudden, and yet again, Aion saw the arms and the sword of the enemy getting blurred… He raised his weapon to block the attack, and that worked, but more of that kept coming and prevented him from moving.
The blasts of wind pushed Aion backward until he hit the wall behind him. The blasts kept wounding his body as if that wasn't troublesome enough. Aside from the parts protected by his armor, he got covered in cuts. Aion's right arm that was protecting his neck was bleeding more than a little bit, and if things continue like that…
Still, as if his arms had overheated, the enemy stopped attacking… after seeing that barrage of ruthless attacks from a distance, Aion assumed that the enemy was someone pretty calculative. He traded blows with him without thinking too much about it, but that kind of cold and methodic attack fitted him better.
"Let's try that again…" Aion thought when he saw the enemy taking deep breaths to recover his body from the strain. "Let's spice it a bit with some surprise as well…"
When the enemy disappeared while charging at him, Aion used Fury and Inner Force as well, and then he raised his hammer. It seemed like he had nothing but openings, so the enemy decided to pierce his heart without hesitation. Still, when he was only five meters away from him, he saw Aion swinging down his hammer… at that rate, his head would be smashed, even if he pierced Aion's heart.
Ugren moved his sword to block the attack, but upon impact, a powerful shockwave happened… a blast of window spread across the area, and Ugren was sent flying in the opposite direction while spinning uncontrollably in the air. Meanwhile, Aion hit his back against the wall again. He felt the taste of blood in his mouth, but he smiled when he saw the enemy rolling on the ground and then smashing dozens of his allies.
"Serves you right, asshole…" Aion said.
Aion used again the same attack that he used against his father. Simple and compact attacks that had a lot of speed and power behind them. Still, he knew that only that wouldn't be enough to overpower the enemy. So, he tried to copy him by using wind magic around his weapon. Aion knew that he wouldn't succeed on his first try, so he just accumulated a sphere of wind on the top of his hammer that exploded when the weapons collided.
Usually, such an attack would be devastating to both sides. Still, thanks to the wall behind him, Aion knew that his body was going to stop before it could accelerate too much. Also, Inner Force and Fury increased his endurance and decreased the damage.
