Chapter 234 Law Of The Jungle

Name:The Supreme Level Up System Author:
The entrance of the labyrinth was a hole in the ground that quickly became a tunnel that was emitting some cold wind from the interior, enough to make everyone tremble a bit. The surprising fact was that the walls, the ground, and the ceiling seemed to be made of ice, but it wasn't that slippery. Aion felt like changing his class to get Cold Resistance, but he decided to endure it.

Although Aion was lacking in the physical attack department, for now, he had his magic, and he could level up his class as well as use coins to increase his parameters. He refrained from doing so since getting used to the labyrinth would be better that way.

"It seems that there are some groups around, so it might take a while until we find any monster," Sauros said when they found the path splitting into three, and most of them went to the left and right side. "According to the maps I bought, the middle path is the right one."

"This might be good for us since we have been walking for a while, and this cold is hard to get used to," Seris said. "Still, keeping walking would keep us warm…"

The cold was preventing her from speaking logically. In the end, Aion sighed. He didn't want to use that so soon, but he was forced to change to the necromancer class and create some warm air around them.

"Hah… so good…" Seris said while showing an expression of pleasure.

"... Who is spoiling who now?" Sauros asked, and he saw Aion shrugging.

It was only for a while. Sooner or later, they will have to get used to the cold… but it was more likely that Seris would do something about it with her skills.

In any case, even though it was just mid-morning, they saw several groups heading in the opposite direction while carrying monster materials. Some of the adventurers looked blue to the cold, and some had lost fingers after working years inside the labyrinth and due to the frostbites.

After walking for around two hours, they finally stopped seeing other groups every ten minutes, and the aura inside the labyrinth got more oppressive… Sauros, who was busy making his own map, decided to be more cautious of the surroundings. He also got more relaxed thanks to Aion's magic…

When they found the next area where the path split in three, they suddenly stopped when they heard some wings flapping… in the next moment, some flying blue monsters approached from both sides. They looked like bats, but their heads were a lot bigger, and they had only one eye as well…

"Aion, you take the left side," Sauros declared.

Aion was too weak to face those things with the Lancer class, and he could tell. Still, that didn't stop him from changing the class and equipping the extreme spear. There were three monsters on his left side, and they approached his head with their mouths open…

Aion used Force Release and then fired three fireballs at their eyes that made them tremble and squeak in agony. During that short window of time, he made his spear pierce one of the eyes of a monster, and while he was pulling it, he jumped and then hit the top of another monster's head with his left elbow. When he was falling, he used his own body's weight to pierce the fallen enemy's head.

The last monster recovered in that short window of time and then tried to bite Aion's head, but he made the creature eat some fireballs instead. The impacts inside made the creatures burn and kill them.

When Aion turned around, he saw Sauros and Seris splitting two enemies in half. Those creatures were too weak for them but a bit troublesome for Aion's current parameters…

After making the spear absorb the monsters and begin to process them, Aion wondered what he could use from them. They were essentially just big heads and wings…

When they reunited and began to move, Aion noticed Seris' stare. As expected, she had noticed that his strength was different than usual… he just shrugged at her before she decided to forget about it.

After a while, Aion confirmed that he got some ice scales, leather, and some of the monsters' blood when the processing ended… he had never gotten blood before, so he wondered why that happened now… in any case, the spear got to get the scales, so Zane was fine with it.

Around the time Aion was checking the processed monsters, they found another part where the path was splitting into three… so far, the labyrinth wasn't living up to Aion's expectations… just walking in a straight line to reach the end wasn't fun at all…

"Don't worry. This is just the first area of the labyrinth, and that is why it looks a bit like a dungeon," Sauros said.

"This isn't like the type of dungeon that I know of," Aion said.

"You know about how dungeons are born, but the different situations also affect how they are formed," Sauros said. "Let's say a single large battle that destroyed a nearby forest due to the use of magic. The two incidents will make a dungeon without bifurcations to appear. Meanwhile, something like this appears when continuous destruction happens over time in an area for long periods."

"But this is a labyrinth," Aion said.

"Labyrinths appear in areas suited for their needs," Sauros added. "It isn't abnormal that they would also devour newborn dungeons."
