Aion didn't know if he should feel lucky or not… that class could help him with the construction job, but it would take a while for that to happen. Regardless, he had some materials left, so he began to upgrade the refinement of the weapon and kept working on the bridge even after dark. The grind can't stop.
When morning came, Aion looked at the finished bridge and sighed in relief… he had to use way more mana than to create an easy road. Still, at least it confirmed that he could do something similar in the desert.
Aion ended up talking with some guys in the port to check if there was something else that they needed to connect with the bridge. They didn't ask for anything since they were shocked by the fact that Aion made all that in one day.
After that, Aion ended up flying East to start the road. He needed to level up the Elementalist class in order to gain the skills and passive that would help his earth magic, but it would be hard to do that just by flying.
Once Aion reached the desert, he leveled up a little by killing some earthworms, and then he asked Arc for directions toward the dungeon. Dealing with that problem will make him save time later, so he started with that one.
Although he already expected that, Aion still sighed when he ended up in the middle of nowhere after Arc guided him…. The dungeon had no visible entrance, so he had to dig for who knows how long.
"I should just get going…" Aion said and then sighed before he began to push away the sand around with some giant shovels made with ice magic.
At the same time, Aion began to create some walls around to make sure that the sand wouldn't return and get in the way. After digging for around two hundred meters, Aion saw an underwater cave that was big enough to let the earthworms come out from it.
Aion just waited there for the monsters to come out, and they did every minute or so… their spawning rate was quite short, considering their massive size.
"I guess it must be because the fallen capital is nearby…" Aion imagined how much mana the Millerians had used to change the environment. "Hey, grandpa. Did this kind of thing often happen while you guys were around? I am pretty sure that those creatures can only appear like this because of the mana that was used to create the capital."
"Even if that were the case, it shouldn't have left an effect that would last for hundreds of years…" Arc replied and then sighed. "That dungeon appeared because of us, but not the way you think. It was because our sudden disappearance made things change in the desert."
Aion didn't know if he should accept that at face value… it was too convenient, after all. That being said, they were a group of people that had massive amounts of mana, so it wouldn't be really weird if their deaths changed things somehow.
In any case, Aion kept killing the monsters, and after three hours, he finally confirmed what he was thinking. The next two skills also had a high level of synergy, just like the first two, but they weren't the type that he was waiting for.
Water Manipulation: it grants you the power to control water freely. With higher costs of mana, you can control the water better and increase its power as well.
Water Magic Enhanced: passively increases the power of water magic by five percent per level.
"I basically have those skills since I am a Millerian as well, but it doesn't matter as long as it stacks the effects," Aion thought.
At the end of the day, Aion felt like facepalming… he got two more skills, but they were for wind magic. That was truly a mess, and he was truly unlucky… to think that the skills that would help his earth magic would be learned after levels fifty and sixty… but at least he would have enough improvement points to increase their effectiveness.
In any case, Aion pulled another all-nighter to make the class reach those levels, and he finally got the earth-related skills that would help him on the work. Still, before leaving, he has to come up with a way to kill the earthworms without using his death knights. Otherwise, he won't be able to use the effects of those skills.
For starters, Aion made sure that the monsters would have a single direction to head by covering most of the sand walls in a thick layer of earth. After that, he dug in the area even more and created some earth spikes that were over one hundred meters with earth magic in front and blew the entrance of the dungeon.
After some test runs, Aion confirmed the monsters leaving the dungeon and falling for the massive hole in front of the dungeon… he will have to clean up the hole periodically. Still, at least that would level up his class and the proficiency of the earth-related skills much faster than normal.
"That time I was reincarnated as a magic architect…" Aion thought while he was heading to the nearest fortress of the Zaera kingdom to start the road.
Once again, Aion just showed the scroll with the king's seal and then began to work. In the starting areas of the desert, the sand didn't go that deep, so Aion had an easy time making the pillars that would be the foundation of the road. They only had to be a couple of meters tall as well… but soon they had to get bigger, and that would be too time and mana-consuming.
After some experiments, Aion learned that he could just control the sand in the vicinity for his work and just hardened it to make sure that it wouldn't sink or get damaged over time.
