After one week, Aion managed to make one-third of the road… it was over eight hundred kilometers long, and he was exhausted. At least Aion knew that the job would become easier from that moment on, thanks to his new class.

Aion slept very little during that week, so while he was flying home, sometimes he fell asleep in midair and then began to fall. Whenever that happened, he woke up soon after, so disasters were avoided.

When he arrived home, it was in the middle of the night, so Aion jumped into his bed and slept like a log until the following day. He was too used to sleeping only enough until his body felt rested, so he woke up when it was fine for breakfast.

Although he went to have breakfast while still running his eyes and with his bed hair, Aion blinked a few times since everyone looked too well dressed so early in the morning.

"What do you think, Aion?" Artemisia asked.

She said that and then showed Seris and Arlana. The first was wearing a dark blue dress filled with floors of the same color and a red hair ornament. She looked quite bashful since Seris was more used to wearing more practical clothes.

Arlana was also wearing a simple green dress, but it looked really good on her since the life on her timeline made her become really thin. She got better in the last few days, and she looked a lot tidier than before with her shoulder-length silver hair that had been properly combed.

Arlana didn't look bashful, only a bit uncomfortable since she never wore things like that. She tried to check all her body while wearing the dress, though.

"... It is all right," Aion said while eating a loaf of bread. "Are you guys going somewhere?"

"... How could I have forgotten this?" Artemisia asked, visibly astonished. "Your father has always been popular, so he never taught you how to compliment girls."

"I did compliment them, didn't I?" Aion asked while frowning. "If you wanted me to elaborate, you should have told me sooner."

"Then elaborate," Artemisia said.

"It won't feel genuine now, don't you agree?" Aion asked.

"I guess so… anyway, I take it that negotiations ended well," Artemisia said and then told the others to have their breakfast. "I heard a report that someone like you built a bridge that connected to an island. I guess it makes sense that Vangel would ask for more."

"Being considerate because of stuff like politics is a pain in the ass, though," Aion shrugged.

"You sound like more brother… good to lead, but not to rule," Artemisia said and then showed a lonely smile. "I am glad that you don't have such inspiration."

"Speaking of him, he began to send me his mana as well, but grandpa said that he doesn't want to talk," Aion said. "Vangel also said a few things about grandma."

"I can imagine what he said, and I can't deny them…" Artemisia said and then sighed. "Putting that aside, how are things with the road?"

Aion told his mother that he had finished one-third of the job and that he also can create things like iron. She assumed that it was just thanks to the fact that he improved that much by building the earth bridge.

"Have you settled down yet?" Aion asked.

"I guess so… I was starting to wonder what you were going to make me do," Arlana said. "I am not fit for this noble lifestyle of just eating and doing nothing, and I feel pretty shameful when I see your mother working."

"Well, you didn't look that healthy before, but now you look fine. We can start working," Aion said. "Explain in detail how your power works."

"Let's see… using my mana, I can create fissures that let me see and interact with the past," Arlana explained. "That requires a lot of mana, though. Gathering Intel by using my mana to analyze people and things is easier and consumes way less mana. Still, for my power to work, I need to know the exact location in time and space where I want to get information from. I can save some mana if I am in the same spot that I want to analyze. Then I will only have to use it to bend time."

"... It feels like a variation of my brother's power that isn't suited for combat," Seris said. "I feel like our powers have become more focused on single aspects over time, so I guess that confirms my theory. We never had anyone that could bend time that much and even gather Intel from other periods of time."

Aion wondered if it was because Malon died or if his descendants decreased in number… it wouldn't make much sense if that were the case since time magic wasn't like a pool that would become smaller the more people use it.

"What are your limitations?" Aion asked.

"The further in time I need to go, the more mana I have to gather. In that mission, when I talked with you, I was starting to harness mana when I was fifteen," Arlana explained. "And only stopped when I was nineteen."
