Officer Han felt like banging his head on her expensive car, dealing with an eccentric woman was like negotiating with a mosquito -- not to bite you. And this eccentric woman was sucking the sense out of his mind like a mosquito sucking the blood out of his body. Thankfully the interview began, and Zhenyi answered the first few questions solemnly.
"Miss Xin, where were you last night?" the police officer asked Zhenyi as he wrote something on the paper.
He had been noting down everything she had spoken.
'Maybe that was a police thing. So, overrated,' Zhenyi spoke to herself. " No wonder the modern and updated criminals like hers were difficult to hunt.'
"At home. On bed. With my husband. And --- "
"We get it. No need to continue, Ma'am." The officer spoke before she could complete her sentence. The police didn't need to know such juicy and personal details.
Officer Han pursed his lips at the word 'husband'. Not that he was jealous but who would dare to marry such a woman -- eccentric and outwardly.
His gaze fell on her hand and he was surprised to find rings on her finger. She was not joking about having a husband.
"Do you have an alibi, Miss Xin?" Officer Han asked after a pause.
"My husband, if he is counted as one, " Zhenyi answered.
"Yes of course, if he can help us with the case, then why not," Officer Han told her. Actually, he had a hunch that Zhenyi was not the one behind this murder. Someone was clearly sabotaging her reputation and name but the question was -- who? And why?
Zhenyi frowned. "Do you wish to talk to my husband, Mr. Law protector?"
"Sure, that will be very helpful." Officer Han agreed.
Zhenyi dialed Long Jie's number and he picked up the call after two rings. Her phone was on speaker as the officer had asked her to.
Dealing with the police was so troublesome!
"Zhenyi?" Long Jie's surprised voice boomed.
"Hello to you too, husband. Can I ask you something?" Zhenyi spoke calmly as if they hadn't battled against each other. "Nothing related to the morning."
"Yeah..." Long Jie said but he was afraid of what she might ask this time. Her questions were lethal just like her.
Long Jie had just ended the call with his brother when his phone rang. Initially, he thought, it was his brother who was calling again but he was actually surprised to see her name on the screen as she had never called her before. Moreover, how they parted on a bad note in the morning was itching him.
"Where was I last night?" Zhenyi asked Long Jie.
"Are you drunk, wife?"Long Jie softly asked. Did he hurt her too much that she decided to get drunk to forget the morning?
Lord, his hands were shaking. What had he done, goddammit!
"Unfortunately not, too sober to deal with this shitty day," came a sarcastic reply much to his relief.
Not so surprisingly, he would always prefer a sharp-tongued and sarcastic Zhenyi than a solemn one.
"Where are you, cat eyes?" Long Jie asked, his voice naked with concern.
"Getting interviewed by a very gorgeous human specimen. Only if I had--- "
And here she went again, getting on his nerves.
"Goddammit Zhenyi, if you are trying to make me jealous, it's indeed working," Long Jie said, his voice full of impatience." And stop worrying me, tell me where the hell are you?"
"Only if I had not met him under such circumstances."
Zhenyi completed her sentence, stubbornly.
"Zhenyi," Long Jie groaned.
"Apologies Sir, It's Chinese police, Miss Xin is getting interviewed by us on the suspect of a murder. We get to know she was with you last night, "Officer Han spoke reminding her that she was still getting interviewed.
Long Jue stood up from his chair when he heard the word 'police'. Xin Yichen informed him of her dislike for the police.
"Officer, my wife was at home with me from the last two days and hasn't left the home since our wedding. I can send the CCTV footage of our house to prove her words," told Long Jie as he left the office immediately to go to her."And can you please tell me the address, I will be there in a few minutes?"
"No need, I got it handled. Bye husband," Zhenyi said and hung up on Long Jie.
"So, the Chinese police, are you convinced now?"Zhenyi finds the officer scrutinizing her.
"It's not easy to convince us. We have our eyes on you, Miss Xin," He said back.
"Too bad, I don't live to convince anyone."She opened the door to the car and said before getting into the car,
"Goodbye, Mr. Law protector. "
"See you soon, Miss Xin."
"On the contrary, officer. On the contrary." She said while adjusting her shades and left.

On the other hand, Long Jie was worried sick about his wife, she dared to hang upon him, and what was more unsettling was that she was alone with that officer she had called 'a gorgeous human specimen.'
But there was a bit of relief in his heart as he knew the man was a police officer, no matter much handsome or gorgeous he was, he was going to be hated either way. And being the petty Zhenyi she truly was, her hate for police would definitely be rubbed on the officer too.
Long Jie checked the time and called the guards which were following her and get to know that she went to the hospital that he knew who she went to visit and who was the patient to her. He sighed in relief.
"This woman is going to be the death of me," he muttered to himself and went back to work.
