"I lost my child five years ago."
"I'm sorry."
Alcina laughed, trying to hide the gloominess. "Don't be..."
She said after a while, "My child is alive and well." She paused and saw Zhenyi looking at her with furrowed brows. "It's just that she was taken away from me after I gave birth to her. I haven't ever seen her face. I don't even know what she looked like."
"How can someone be so cruel?" Zhenyi said a flicker of anger could be seen in her volcanic eyes. "Didn't you fight for your child?"
Alcina took a sip of her drink and avoided looking at Zhenyi. "I wasn't fit to be her parent. I'm glad that she had the world's best dad to take care of her."
"I have the world's best dad too but he can't take the place of my mom," Zhenyi couldn't help but speak although the matter had nothing to do with her. "Your child needs a mom too. I'm not trying to tell you what you should have done or what you should do. I'm a motherless child, Alcina. I think I know how it feels to grow up without a mom."
"What if a mother is a danger to her child?" Alcina asked her. " My existence was a danger to my child. So, I let her father take her away from me. I don't regret it for a single second but it didn't mean that I didn't die to have a single glance of her. She is a part of me and it's impossible for me to forget her. Yet it didn't change the fact that I hate her father for being the reason why there is a great wall of estrangement between me and my little fairy."
"You can't blame him when you should have worked on your fears," Zhenyi told her. She didn't realize that her words could hurt the other person. She just spoke what came into her mind. Apparently, the drunk Zhenyi was a talker. "She needed you, but you were not there. Alcina, it's still not late. Take it as advice from someone who didn't get the joy of becoming a mom, go to her, and give her the life she deserves."
Alcina opened her mouth to say something but just then a waiter came and served them the dishes that she had ordered for them.
"This card is for you, ma'am." The waiter gave the card to Alcina and pointed behind Zhenyi.
Seeing the person behind Zhenyi, Alcina froze.
"What happened?" Zhenyi asked her as she noticed that Alcina stiffened all of a sudden.
"I think I just saw someone I know. I'll be right back." Alcina said and left the table.
**
Alcina felt a pull on her hand as someone pulled her by the other side. She felt her back against the wall, and the person who sent her the note previously standing in front of her.
"I didn't know that I was your type," Alcina said with a mischievous smile.
"Although my life revolves around pleasuring and strenuous activities, I n.c.e.s.t is still not my cup of tea," came the sharp retort.
"You haven't changed a bit, Esma," Alcina said with a chuckle. She looked at the dark goddess before her again. Esma was wearing black skinny jeans and a black corset. Yes, corset. Lord, knew how she styled both of the clothing items, but she was looking as usual -- enchanting and s.e.x.y. "And, I see black is still your color."
"Cut the crap," Esma hissed, crossing her arms over her chest. "What were you doing with that bitch?"
To say Esma was going berserk seeing Alcina and Zhenyi together would be true. However, her emotions had nothing to do with her dislike for Zhenyi.
It was just that both of the two women couldn't come together, much less meet each other as if they were two long-lost friends.
Alcina laughed again. Why was Esma so cute? Only Esma would call a brat like her cute. "You still use the word b.i.t.ch to describe the women in your Ah-Jie's life? Why are you so predictable?"
Esma glared at her.
"No wonder, she got on your nerves," Alcina said with another chuckle. She liked teasing and irritating Esma.
"ALCINA!"
"Present mistress Esma!" Alcina saluted her.
Esma placed her hands on her waist and asked her the question. "Why are you here? And what are you doing with that b-- woman?"
Alcina leaned over to see her face clearly in Esma's mirror-made jewelry. This girl had an allergy to normal clothes and jewelry. "Didn't you beg me a few months ago to come to China?"
"And you outrightly refused me, remember?" Esma said, glaring at her." You said that you won't step foot in this country. It was because of you I was caught at the airport. If you hadn't refused to help me then, I wouldn't have to tolerate that alien Feng Siyan."
"I helped you to escape your golden cage," Alcina scoffed. "Who asked you to come and find trouble with Xin Zhenyi? And who asked you to start a feud with Feng Siyan? You could have used him but no, your hatred always outweighs your senses."
"Shut up! It's not Feng Siyan who I hate. It's his self-righteous, Master," Esma said with annoyance and Alcina pressed her lips in a thin line."And when are you going back?"
"Never," came the swift and confident reply.
Esma took a deep breath. If one thinks that they could handle a conversation with Alcina, they should bang their heads on the wall.
Alcina was anything but a simple character. Esma still remembered the day like it was just yesterday when she met Alcina. She would never forget that day. Because it was the same day she met a genius child who was so poisonous, so dangerous that she felt a need to protect her from the wolves disguised as family, who would do nothing but tear her apart.
"You know what I mean. You're not supposed to be here," Esma said and took out her phone. " I'm booking tickets for you. You're going back!"
"I'm back for good this time! Esma," Alcina seriously informed her.
"I dare you to say that again!"
Alcina sneered. "You don't scare me, Esma. If I say I'm back for good, it means I'm back for good."
"Go back, Al. You know I care for you. Go back. These people don't deserve you. They won't welcome you."
Alcina shook her head. "You can't change my mind. I'm tired of living as someone who is not me. I'm here to take the reign of my life in my hands again."
"You're courting death, girl!"
"Moreover, I have to pay respect to my Shifu too," Alcina told her.
"Didn't you say you hate your Shifu?" Esma asked in shock.
"Just because I hate her for making my life hell, doesn't mean I don't respect her for making me who I'm today," Alcina's reply was just as complicated as her.

On the other side.
Gu Tian opened the car door, and Long Jie sat but not before helping Faye inside. He had reached Beijing just now.
"Master, there is something you should know," Gu Tian said hesitantly. As he was sitting in the passenger seat, he had to turn back to look at Long Jie.
"What?" Long Jie's cold voice rang.
"It's about Madam--"
"Is she alright?" Long Jie's cold face finally had an expression on it and it was that of anxiousness.
Gu Tian's face paled all of a sudden. "Master, she has been missing for the last few hours. The bodyguards were ordered not to follow her--"
"Gu Tian, are you just telling me that my wife is missing, and the bodyguards that were supposed to fulfill their duty by protecting her let her get hurt again?" Long Jie asked the question in a thundering voice.
The quiet Faye sitting next to him shivered. She hadn't seen her Uncle Jie like this before. Although he had been cold for the last few days, she still hadn't seen him losing his temper.
"Master, we are still not clear if she is hurt or --"
"She better be alright, Gu Tian or, you don't want to fathom the consequences."
Long Jie took a deep breath and pulled out his phone from his pocket. He checked the tracker app and a red dot on the screen showed him where his wife was.
"Dèjà Vu," Long Jie said. "Secure the club and make sure she is not hurt."
"Master, are you s-sure?" Gu Tian asked. When he saw Long Jie giving him a threatening look, he closed his mouth.
Five minutes later, Gu Tian received a call and after hearing what the other person said, he signed in relief.
"Madam is indeed at Dèjà Vu along with a friend, " Gu Tian reported. "And she doesn't look injured."
Long Jie sighed in relief. 'You scared me again, wife.'
"Master, may I ask how you traced Madam's location?" Gu Tian asked him after a while.
Long Jie just smiled mysteriously, and Gu Tian knew better than anyone else to ask any further.
Nobody knew that there was a tiny tracker fitted inside Zhenyi's wedding ring, and he intended to take this secret to the grave.
