Chapter 60: The Mysterious Brother Ma
Zhu Liang had brought at least ten people here from his village. He was originally a villager and decided to find a living in the city for he was jobless where he was from. He had nothing when he first arrived but happened to chance upon a developer named Brother Wang.
He had helped this developer settle multiple points of resistance and had earned the admiration of his employer. Hence, Zhu Liang called Li Shan and the others from his village over. They were all merciless when it came to fighting and they helped the developer to settle many of his problems.
Now, they had a total of about ten people. Although there were not many of them, they had mixed quite well into the society here.
What Zhu Liang had always emphasized the most was being fierce and loyal. Hence, he rushed over when he found out that Li Shan had been hurt by someone.
The group took out all sorts of weapons as they changed towards Xia Tian.
“Stop!!” A person appeared by the cabin next door. He seemed to be in his twenties and was certainly not more than thirty years old.
“Who are you?” Zhu Liang looked at the man and asked.
“It doesn’t matter who I am, what’s important is that you’ve disrupted my meal.” That man stared at Zhu Lian indifferently.
“I’m telling you right now to mind your own business. I’m Zhu Liang and I’ve got plenty of strings and connections among the mafias and law-enforcers.” Zhu Liang revealed his trump card.
“I don’t care about who you are.” The man made sure to not give him any face.
“Who are you then?” Zhu Liang strode towards the man. His subordinates behind him followed suit. It was as if they were ready to attack him at any given moment.
“Hey hey hey!” Xia Tian in the cabin said lazily, “Are you guys idiots? Are you here for revenge or something?”
Xia Tian’s words had attracted everyone’s attention, including the man by the door.
“Xia Tian, what are you doing? Are you not satisfied unless these people skin you apart?” Huo Wennu stared at Xia Tian. Everyone could tell that Zhu Liang and his gang were about to deal with that man by the entrance. She would have the opportunity to call for help then, but Xia Tian had snatched their attention back onto them at the most crucial moment.
“Xia Tian?” The man by the door was slightly startled when he heard Xia Tian’s name. He then smiled when he had a closer look at him.
“You b*stard, I was planning to let you live a little bit longer. Since you really want to die this badly, I’ll make your wish come true.” Zhu Liang stared angrily at Xia Tian.
“I remember telling you to stop.” The man strode towards Zhu Liang.
“Son of a b*tch, what’s with everyone wanting to die this badly today?” Zhu Liang scolded at that man.
“What was that earlier; you’ve got people in the mafias and law-enforcement?” The man asked indifferently.
“That’s right.” Zhu Liang gave that man a despicable look.
“Hehe.” That man giggled.
“What are you laughing at?” Zhu Liang asked confusingly.
Then, the cabin next door opened up and four to five people walked out of it. These people were all in suits and leather boots.
“Zhu Liang, you’ve become more and more arrogant. How dare you disrespect my honored guest.” One of the men looked at Zhu Liang and said angrily.
“Brother Wang!” Zhu Liang was startled at the sight of the man. This man was not just anyone — he was Zhu Liang’s boss. He had his social standing today all because of this developer.
“We’re here today to treat Brother Ma to a meal. Who would’ve thought that you would cause so much disruption.” The developer spoke.
“I didn’t know you would be here, Brother Wang.” Zhu Liang recognized the three men behind his boss. They were all famous developers, just like him, and it was only then he realized that he had offended the wrong people. Only an important guest would have the honor to enjoy a meal with four bosses.
He would never have dreamt that Brother Wang and the rest would bring such an important person to dine at such a plain place.
“Brother Ma, I apologize in his stead. Would you be willing to let this incident go?” Brother Wang pleaded for Zhu Liang. After all, the latter was still the former’s subordinate and he was also satisfied with his capabilities.
“I’ll give you face, tell them to leave this instant.” Brother Ma nodded.
“Well? Scram!” Brother Wang glared at Zhu Liang and his entourage as they left hastily. Before Zhu Liang left, he shot a deathly gaze at Xia Tian.
Brother Ma and the lot then returned to their own cabin. Before he left, he looked at Xia Tian and nodded.
Everything settled down in the cabin. However, other than Xia Tian, everyone else had lost their appetite.
“Sister Wen, why don’t we leave things here as they are today and I’ll treat everyone a meal again sometime in the future.” Tang Yan could tell that the crowd felt uncomfortable and suggested out loud.
“Alright then.” Huo Wennu was incredibly frustrated. She was the young mistress of the Huo Family but a few thugs had bested her. They even threw her prestigious family’s name in the wind when she brought it up.
When Xue Chuan went to pay the bills, he realized that someone had already paid for him. When he asked the cashier who that person was, he could not provide an answer. All he said was that the guy was Xia Tian’s friend.
“Why are you all looking at me? I don’t even know who he is.” Xia Tian looked at the crowd and explained.
As they bid goodbye to each other, Yun Miao and Ling’er went on their way. Xue Chuan drove his car over as he was supposed to send Tang Yan back. Since Bing Xin and Ye Qingxue lived together and Xia Tian planned to stay there for a night as well, they sat in Huo Wennu’s car as the latter sent the three back home.
Meanwhile, the day had left Huo Lajiao absolutely livid.
She had an argument with her grandfather at home after he found out that she was learning martial arts. She was severely reprimanded by her father and as a result of the latter’s rage, she was thrown out of the house. She did not really mind that she was thrown out, but she did not have a single cent on her at all.
She planned to call Xia Tian for help but the latter hung up her call immediately.
“D*mned master, bad master.”
“You should go and choke to death eating, drinking, and talking. I hope you get crushed to death while you’re walking too.”
“I’m so hungry. I need to find a way to make some money.”
Huo Lajiao felt helpless sitting by the street. She had already switched off her phone — she refused to return home unless her grandfather agreed to let her learn martial arts.
“How should I make some money? Should I go and rob someone?
“That’s no good. Who would be scared of me if I rob them with just my bare hands…
“How about begging?
“Can’t do that either. Forget about how much I’ll get doing that, I don’t even look like a beggar these clothes on.”
“What should I do?”
“I’ve got it!” Huo Lajiao purposely made her hair messy and ripped her shirt here and there before standing beside the road.
“This vehicle isn’t good. It’s too old and anyone could tell that the driver isn’t rich.
“That won’t do either…”
After waiting for around ten minutes, her eyes shone brightly.
“There’s a red sports car. I’m sure it costs like a million bucks or two. I’m going to be rich.” Huo Lajiao stood by the traffic light nearby, waiting for the sportscar to slow down as it was a red light. Huo Lajiao grabbed hold of the timing and dashed out across the road and fell on the ground, acting as if she was hit by the car when it was coming to a halt.
“Here comes the money.” Huo Lajiao was incredibly excited.
…
