I heard the sound of dishes breaking on the floor and looked over to see Clive staring at me with a blank expression on his face.
He seemed to have dropped the tea set in his hand, which is unusual for a man who does everything perfectly. The floor is covered with tea and scattered dishes.
The maids appeared out of nowhere, cleaned up the scattered dishes and wet floor as if Clive’s little mistake had never happened, put a new tea set in his hand, and disappeared from the room.
“Our maids are as efficient as ever,” Clive thought to himself.
Clive seemed to have come to his senses, but he was still upset and put the tea set on the table with a trembling hand.
“What is it, Clive? If you are not feeling well, why don’t you go to your room and rest?”
“Lydith-sama…… How kind of you to care for my health, you are my goddess, Lydith-sama.”
“I know how you feel, Clive. I know how you feel. So take it easy and go rest.”
Clive kneels at my feet, reverently takes my hand, and puts his forehead on it as if in prayer.
I wish he would stop praying and get some rest quickly.
However, seeing Clive’s condition, neither my brother nor the maids say anything in particular. He rarely drops
dishes, but this kind of behavior by Clive toward me is a rather common occurrence.
He looked up from his prone position and stared at me with sad eyes.
“Did you say you were going to the king of the demons, Lydith-sama?”
“Yes, Clive! Lydith said she wanted to …… bridge the gap between the demons and the humans, but I will not allow that.”
Her brother said in a very emotional voice.
The beautifully sculpted face is clad with a tragic sense of fragility that would cause a girl of her age to swoon if she saw it.
It’s my brother. He is an exceptional modeling beauty.
My maids are so used to it that they are not fooled by my brother’s good looks.
Apparently, they are divided into the forbidden brother-sister love group of my brother and me, the goddess and servant group of Clive and me, and the prince and fiancée group of Rafael and me.
But even if my love is equal, I have only one body. I’m sorry I can’t give them all the love they want.
Unfortunately, there are things that even the perfect me cannot do. It is difficult to divide my body into three equal parts.
In the kingdom, you can have a concubine, but it is forbidden for women to marry polygamously.
But definitely, when I become the companion of the king of the demon tribe and reign over this world, I will change that system.
I have a duty to love those who love me equally, so I will have to ask Clive to wait a bit.
I have to worry about my brother, though, because he is in conflict with my ethical standards.
“What will Rafael-sama do?” Clive says in a matter-of-fact tone.
“You ask the same question as my brother, Clive. If it is about being Rafael’s fiancée, there must be someone more suitable than me. The kingdom is stable and peaceful at the moment. Even if a woman whose only merit is her loveliness becomes queen, the kingdom will not be shaken. However, I am the only one in the kingdom who can win the heart of the king of the demon tribe. I am sure that Rafael-sama will understand. My actions are in the national interest and, to put it more broadly, for the benefit of the world.”
“I have never been so happy to serve Lydith-sama…. My dear goddess. We must order a sculptor to erect a statue of her in the town square.”
“I agree with you, Clive, but will you stop Liddy?”
The money for my statue in the town square would be better spent on other things. The duke’s property is a tax paid by the people of the territory, so I hope my brothers understand that and use it properly. (T/N: When the FL said ‘my brothers’ she literally referred to butler Clive as her brother too, which made it plural. She has only one blood brother, which is Soleil.)
I can understand why you would want to build a statue of me because it would be beautiful, but I can do that comfortably when I become the queen who rules the continent, so it’s too early to say.
Besides, if they are going to build it anyway, I want it to be a statue of me matured in a few more years. By then, I will grow up beautifully.
“I cannot stop the noble aspiration of Soleil-sama and Lydith-sama. For a thousand years since the country was closed, the demons have feared people, and people have forgotten the demons. I believe that Lydith-sama will be able to make them open up to each other and bring them back together as one world.”
“That…. I believe in Liddy, too. There is no one more pure, hardworking, straightforward, and fair than Liddy. And with all this loveliness, even I sometimes feel like taking her away like a noble rose.”
I appreciate my brother’s sentiments, but I would like him to wait a little while until I change the law on such things.
As it is now, and as I have said many times, it violates my ethical standards.
