Chapter 4.2

“Brother, you may rest assured that I am not going to let you do that. Your Lydith will return when she has fulfilled her destiny with distinction. My love for you and for Clive is also true.”

“Oh, Liddy…..”

“My Goddess….”

My brother’s eyes moistened. I got up and decided to hold my brother’s face on my chest as he sat in his chair.

Most of the time he does what I tell him to do, so it’s very easy.

Clive is kneeling on the floor and crouching. He seems to be so immersed in my preciousness that I decide to leave him alone for a moment.

“Lydith-sama, your servant is not afraid to violate the forbidden law for your sake. For your sake, I will open the hidden door.”

Clive said as he got up, fixing his hair, which was disheveled from his crouching.

“What do you mean, Clive? You seem to know a lot about demons.”

“I was going to tell you Lydith when you are older,” Soliel said. “How long do you remember Clive, Liddy?”

I let go of his head in my arms. He held my hands and tilted his head, as if regretting the loss.

“I have known him since I was a little girl, I think he has always been Clive. By the way, I feel like Clive has always been Clive”

I think back to Clive in the past.

He was usually expressionless, but sometimes he would kneel at my feet, or he would pick up my little body and dance the Lydith-sama precious dance, or when my preciousness was too much and reached a critical point in him, he would bang his head against the wall and mumble something to himself.

I was amused by Clive’s eccentricities, and I think I already missed him.

Come to think of it, Clive’s appearance has hardly changed since then. He is about ten years older than I am, so it is not surprising that he hasn’t changed much.

“That’s because Clive is a demon. Clive is a vampire who has served our family for a long time and stayed here instead of going to the other world.”

“Oh, I see. So, in other words, the demon tribe does not age. I had never heard of that before.”

I see. No wonder they look the same.

The white skin, the handsome face and crimson eyes, although not as beautiful as my brother’s, the word “vampire tribe” certainly fits those attributes. I don’t know much about vampires, but I guess they like blood because they are called blood suckers.

I prefer those with special powers, so Clive’s value in my mind has increased.

I smiled at Clive and squeezed his hand, and his eyes began to glisten, probably because he wanted to bow down to my preciousness again.

A long time has passed since we started talking. I had a feeling that the conversation would get even more complicated if Rafael-sama came to pick me up, so I tightened my grip on his hand, not allowing Clive to immerse himself in his own world.

“By bloodsuckers, do you mean blood-drinkers?”

“No, Lydith-sama. I was wounded to the point of extinction after a past war and was saved by the then head of the Anne Maria family. I had nowhere else to go and was placed in the duke’s household, but I vowed never to drink human blood. Even though I don’t drink blood, I am now living fine by sucking the essence of flowers.”

“Oh my, that is so graceful. You are as elegant as a butterfly, Clive. But it must be hard for you not to feed as you should, and if you must, you can have my blood…”

“Lydith-sama……!”

“Well, that’s a quick story. I was just troubled because I didn’t know how to get to the land of the demons. Now, Clive, please send me to the king of the demons.” I grabbed Clive’s hand when I sensed that Clive was about to step back

When I smiled at him, he nodded repeatedly.

“Now that you’ve decided that, let’s get ready. I’ve already packed. Would you mind doing my hair?”

“…… Liddy, are you sure you want to go?”

“My brother, it is for the betterment of my future and yours. Please give my regards to  father and mother. The most important thing to remember is that there is no  difference between going  to the royal academy or to the land of the demons.

“Liddy….. your brother thinks of you no matter where you are.”

I hugged my brother.

I know very well that if I do that, my brother will do whatever I tell him to do.
