“Lord Naaotto – please take a good look around you. Listen to the people around you, too,” I said.

“What? Why would I have to listen to the voices of others?” he asked. It appeared he had not yet grasped the situation.

He had never even entertained the idea that the many people he had fed his blood to were no longer under his control.

The King approached Lord Naaotto, who had tilted his head in confusion.

The King was walking with a truly dignified presence. Each of his steps was overflowing with majesty.

“Lord Naaotto, today shall be known as the day you were ousted,” said the King.

“Wha-! King! You told me I would become the crown prince! How has that changed to an ousting all of a sudden?!” cried Lord Naaotto. He couldn’t accept what the King was telling him. I was not in the least bit surprised. The King was one of his yes-men, after all. It was no surprise that he would be shocked upon having the situation upended.

“You’ve gone mad! Lord Yaakummo obeys my every command,” shouted Lord Naaotto, grasping the King’s collar forcefully, “If I told him to die, he would die. Do you not care about that?!”

It appeared Lord Naaotto had lost all sense of where he was and who was around him in his confusion.

“Gah! Let go of me, immediately! You insolent fool!” cried the King, and his royal guardsmen restrained Lord Naaotto at once.

Lord Naaotto couldn’t hide his astonishment upon the guards arresting him.  They had been under his control up until this point.

“God damn it! Why?! You’ve all drank my blood! Why do you ignore my commands?!”

Lord Naaotto struggled desperately, trying to escape, but he was no match for the highly trained royal guardsmen.

Lord Naaotto had probably never seen any training at all and had always depended on the power of his blood magic.

“Ray! Is this your doing?!” he cried, aiming the full force of his rage at me.[Read this novel and other amazing translated novels from the original source at the “Novel Multiverse dot com” website @ novelmultiverse.com]

I smiled at Lord Naaotto, gracefully. I smiled to show him that I had the advantage, now. That was enough for me.

It was enough to make Lord Naaotto’s expression crumbled into despair, too. He looked at me like he couldn’t believe what was happening.

Lord Naaotto (or rather, Naoto) had probably never imagined that after being under his control for so long, I would defy him, and even be the one to defeat him.

“Ray! I won’t ever forgive you for this!!” he cried.

“You won’t forgive me – so what?” I asked, giving him a casual smile.

Word had already spread about what Lord Naaotto had done with his blood magic, and the remaining people under his control had been revived with healing magic. There was no one left to defend Lord Naaotto.

“I’ll feed you all my blood again!” he shouted.

“You still don’t understand, do you? Your blood magic doesn’t work on me,” I said.

“How?! That’s impossible!!” he cried.

“It doesn’t work on people who can use healing magic,” I replied, honestly.

“No way! That’s not possible!! Lord Yaakummo could use healing magic, and I was able to control him! Don’t lie to me like that!”

“I’m not lying to you, Lord Naaotto,” I said.

“What?! Lord Yaakummo!!” he yelled.

Lord Yaakummo, who had probably just finished up applying healing magic to the people who had gathered at the castle, approached Lord Naaotto. He grinned his usual grin.

“Have you not considered that I was pretending to be under your control?” he asked.

“What!!” cried Lord Naaotto.

“Your blood’s powers aren’t perfect, you know,” said Lord Yaakummo, smiling. It was probably just my imagination, but his smile looked black.

“Now, King. Lord Naaotto here is a traitor. Please give him the punishment he deserves,” said Lord Yaakummo, in a dramatic tone. The King gravely nodded.

“Hmm, yes. After thoroughly investigating all of Lord Naaotto’s crimes, I will report upon the matter. Today, though, is a day for a ceremony to announce the marriage of a crown prince. Take Lord Naaotto to the dungeons and restrain him!” the King ordered.

“Yes, sir!” replied the many guards at once, and as they stood up, they dragged Lord Naaotto to his feet, and took him away from the great hall.

Lord Naaotto appeared speechless after hearing the words Lord Yaakummo had uttered.

Apparently, a marriage ceremony really was going to occur. This was the first I had heard of it.

There was no way it would be between Lord Yaakummo, and me, right?[Read this novel and other amazing translated novels from the original source at the “Novel Multiverse dot com” website @ novelmultiverse.com]
