Chapter 49: Curse
After waking up, Zhou Mushi spent an hour eating and washing up, then drank a cup of coffee to refresh himself. He was no longer the naive kid who didn’t know anything.
Before noon, he packed his suitcase, but he didn’t have much stuff. He checked out of the hotel and took a taxi to where Jin Yang was staying.
Just as Jin Yang was helping the boy carry his luggage out, Zhou Mushi arrived.
Zhou Mushi showed his eight big white teeth and greeted the two of them with a smile, “Hey, what a coincidence.”
Jin Yang didn’t expect him to come back with luggage. At that moment, he was more shocked than surprised. Without wasting any words, Zhou Mushi simply grabbed his luggage and moved inside.
Toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, clothes, shoes, small towel, all neatly arranged, and then he lay down in the master bedroom that had been idle for a long time. The fatigue from not sleeping well yesterday rushed up, and he pulled the blanket over himself and fell asleep with a huff.
When Jin Yang came back, it was almost afternoon, and Zhou Mushi was just getting up from the bed.
Wearing a white T-shirt with a large collar, Zhou Mushi came out of the bedroom and took the big plastic bag from the delivery guy at the door. He slowly stuffed fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, snacks, and yogurt into the fridge.
As he watched this scene, Jin Yang changed into his slippers and felt a strange feeling in his heart.
“Are you coming back to live here?” he asked softly.
With a bag of yogurt in his mouth, Zhou Mushi turned his head to look at him. He didn’t say anything explicitly, but the look in his eyes seemed to say, “Why can’t I come back?”
He lay back on the sofa and looked through the floor-to-ceiling window at the trees blooming in the warm spring weather. Then he moved the bag of yogurt aside and said to Jin Yang, “I haven’t congratulated you yet on winning the project from HeHui Group.”
Jin Yang stood at the open kitchen counter and poured water. “It’s not final yet, so there’s no need for congratulations.”
Zhou Mushi smiled and asked, “Are you interested in changing your employer?”
“What do you mean?” Jin Yang frowned.
“Does Director Jin have any interest in jumping ship?”
Jin Yang took a sip of water and answered firmly, “No.”
“Even with a 30% raise and a promotion to vice president?” Zhou Mushi continued.
Jin Yang looked up and saw the man sitting on the couch with his two long and beautiful legs crossed. He had no idea what Zhou Mushi was up to.
Shaking his head, he said, “No.”
“Why not?” Zhou Mushi didn’t understand.
“No reason,” he said lightly. “Why did you think of moving back?”
Zhou Mushi bent his mouth and wiped off a thick dab of yogurt from the corner of his mouth with his finger, “Because I want to dig the corner from the closest distance.”1
Jin Yang frowned slightly, and his expression didn’t look very good.
“For the sake of a few deals, you don’t have to do this.” he said and then walked into his own room without looking back, and closed the door.
Sitting alone on the sofa, Zhou Mushi threw the empty yogurt bag into the trash can and pouted his lips.
It was really a miscalculation, but Jin Yang’s reaction was too big, wasn’t it?
In the evening, past dinner time, Jin Yang finally emerged from his room. As soon as he stepped out, he bumped into Zhou Mushi who was wrapped in a bathrobe and had just finished blow-drying his hair in the bathroom.
Jin Yang walked around him. He had intended to go to the kitchen to cook something, but the way that Zhou Mushi was looking at him made him uncomfortable. So he went to the entrance hall, grabbed his coat from the hanger, put on his shoes, and went out to find something to eat.
“Damn it!” Zhou Mushi couldn’t help but curse as he threw the condom he had prepared in the pocket of his bathrobe onto the table. He was so angry he felt like swearing.
