Chapter 50: Drunk
Zhou Mushi usually hates paparazzi who dig up people’s information, but now due to circumstances, he has actually found a company that specializes in investigating personal backgrounds in order to understand what has happened to Jin Yang over the years.
It is said that as long as the money is sufficient, they can even dig up information on one’s ancestors going back several generations.
Zhou Mushi had no shortage of money. He confidently paid the deposit and waited for the other party to give him the information. However, in less than a morning, he received a refund from that company on his mobile phone through WeChat.
The reason given was: “The other party was too tough and our small company couldn’t handle it.”
Jin Yang came back at night, carrying a few bottles of cold beer and some snacks to go with it.
Without making any noise, he brought the things into his room, and glanced at Zhou Mushi who was sitting on the couch and had been staring at him since he came in.
Before closing the door, the person finally spoke up, “There’s no need to dig into my background if you want to recruit someone into your company. To be frank with you, no matter what the conditions are, I can’t possibly jump ship.”
Sitting on the sofa with crossed arms, Zhou Mushi felt angry.
He didn’t have to poach Yucheng Group’s talent or bring Jin Yang over.
These were just means. He just wanted to get back together, but he couldn’t bring himself to say it.
What can he do? Does he have to kick open Jin Yang’s door and shout, “Let’s get back together!”?
Of course, that’s impossible. Even if you killed Zhou Mushi, he couldn’t do such a thing.
At 25 years old, Zhou Mushi should be at his most daring and impulsive, but even he doesn’t know what’s going on when he faces Jin Yang. He used to want to keep things peaceful between them, but now that he knows some things from the past, he just can’t bring himself to speak up.
He wondered if he was being too ignorant before. Just a while ago, Jin Yang had approached him to reconcile, but he had kept his lips sealed.
Not only did he keep his lips sealed, he also suggested being friends with benefits with him. Not only that, but he also had the incident with Zhou Hang at the hotel, and he didn’t explain anything to Jin Yang afterwards. Looking back now, he really regrets his past actions.
But why is Jin Yang so cold and distant towards him this time? Even the surface harmony cannot be maintained?
Sitting around and waiting for death is not a solution. Naturally, Zhou Mushi cannot allow things to develop in this way.
So the next night, with flushed cheeks and reeking of alcohol, Zhou Mushi, the drunkard, hammered Jin Yang’s door in the middle of the night.
Startled by the sound of the door being smashed, Jin Yang, who had just fallen asleep, got up and opened the door. Before he could clearly see who was at the door, the drunkard had already hugged his neck and refused to let go, swaying on him like a soft, limp rag doll.
Jin Yang was held tightly, unable to break free. He had to let Zhou Mushi hold him, and with a forceful tug of his arm, lifted the entire body of Zhou and took him into the room.
“Thin,” those two words popped into Jin Yang’s mind.
Finally managing to move Zhou Mushi onto the bed, Jin Yang fumbled around in the dim light and pulled over a thin blanket, hastily covering the intoxicated man carefully. Feeling satisfied with the arrangement, he tried to sit up, but found that he couldn’t move.
Zhou Mushi’s strength was intermittent. He relaxed a little when taken care of, but clung to his neck desperately as soon as he felt like leaving. Because he didn’t have time to turn on the light, only the neon light outside leaked in through the window, shining on the brow and eyes of Zhou Mushi, coating him with a layer of tenderness.
Jin Yang silently stared at him, and as he drew closer, his field of vision narrowed until all he could see were the tightly closed eyes and the creased forehead of Zhou Mushi.
As if compelled by some unknown force, he raised his hand and gently smoothed out the furrow with a touch full of tenderness.
