Chapter 459 - Scope For Improvement

"So Uncle offered to make arrangements for the Hagen family?" Howard inquired once the narration came to an end.

When Viscount Marcus Valente was requested by his niece to ensure the safety of the Hagen family once the contract was signed, he was quick to accept.

Though he sounded mysterious, he assured her that she could leave this matter to him.

The next thing she requested was to help her find a place for the Hagen family to set up shop.

The bigger the place and the more secluded it was, the better for her plans.

She needed to keep the location of this factory to be kept a secret from everyone until they made their debut in the markets after she signed the contract with Tim Hagen.

Thus, keeping things on the down-low would be in their favor for the time being.

Marcus did not immediately agree as this was a big decision and he would have to discuss this matter with his father.

Yvonne was satisfied that he was willing to think about it and asked him to take his time as they still had a week before meeting the Hagens once again.

This was the reason why Marcus had taken his sons and left as soon as they reached the Mansion.

The discussion about the factory land for Yvonne's business venture needed to be brought to the notice of Grandpa Valente who might have a suitable place in mind for her.

"Does this mean that everyone knows about Vonny's business idea?" Howard rubbed his chin while muttering what he had understood from this entire event.

Rutherford and Yvonne nodded as by now, everyone must have already realized what her hopes and desires with her future were.

Though her uncle Marcus had been thoroughly surprised by her vision, he was not disgusted by her nor did he try to talk her out of it.

In fact, he was ready to help her out which was an eye-opener to her.

'Maybe not every man in this world is misogynist and patriarchal.' She inferred after this event.

She had met so many men who had accepted and acknowledged her capabilities until now.

Her father, Rutherford St. Claire, her tutor, Sullivan Samed, and her trainer, Desmo Reel were some of the first men to have accepted her the way she was.

After a few misunderstandings and clashes, she had gained the approval of her elder brother, Howard and with him were the three other boys who also acknowledged her capabilities without looking down on her.

'Though that boy, Damien is snobbish as ever.' She scoffed while thinking of the boy who had tried to hinder her path on numerous occasions, succeeding in wrecking her mood each time.

Now, even her Uncle and his family were supporting her without a second thought which only proved that this world, though flawed, wasn't the worst.

There was still scope for improvement and her actions were acting as a catalyst, inducing that change into this world even without her knowledge.

For the rest of the afternoon, the three sat together to discuss how her Uncle's involvement in their plan would change things.

There was also the matter of how to deal with the remuneration for his efforts.

'He might reject it because he is doing it for his family but I need to keep business and personal affairs separate.' She decided how she would be going about with this.

This was the matter that Rutherford wished to discuss with her and Howard sat along, giving his input during their discussion.

This continued until Raylene returned to the room and urged them to go freshen up so that they could join the rest of the family for lunch.

At the lunch table, Grandpa Valente was eager to hear more about her plans which made everyone wish to hear about it as well.

Thus, the Valente and St. Claire's family sat together for lunch as they spoke at great length about the causes of the little girl's desires of creating her own business and also why she had chosen the soap industry as her company, CLOVER's debut.

"Earl Blaise will not know what hit him!" Knox snickered after hearing everything and pumped his fist in the air.

The room was filled with chuckles and cheers for this statement as that man needed to be taught a lesson for everything that he had done until now.

However, unlike his younger twin, Roman was not so enthusiastic.

"You need to sign the contract before you start celebrating." He reminded them that their main weapon, the Hagen family, had not yet given their consent.

They might change their mind at any time and wreck Yvonne's plans before they could even be set into motion.

The little girl smiled at her cousin while the other two boys were grumbling that he was the one who wrecked the happy mood here.

"Brother Roman is correct to think so but I am confident that they will make the right choice." Her firm words made Old man Valente smile as he turned his eyes towards the family portrait hanging on the wall.

A smile adorned his wrinkled face as he looked at his beloved wife.

'She is just as gutsy as you were.' He thought and felt his eyes sting with tears, causing him to look down into his plate to avoid dimming the atmosphere any further.

His actions went undetected as everyone was busy with their meals or engaged in conversation.

Even Yvonne was being questioned by her cousins about how she trained with Captain Desmo Reel so she too had not noticed the old man's actions.

Lunch came to an end on a happy note and everyone went back to their rooms to rest for the afternoon.

Later that night, during dinner, the Valente family was surprised to hear that Yvonne's sixth birthday was on the day after tomorrow.

Trisha Valente went into overdrive as she immediately began preparing for the little girl's birthday celebration as this would be the first time she could plan a party for a girl.

Raylene offered to help as she knew everything that Yvonne liked and disliked so the two ladies became occupied with preparations in no time.

The Viscount was busy thinking of what to give the little girl as a present and the brunt of his anxious frustrations fell onto Rutherford, the villain who had not informed him about this special event.

In return, Earl St. Claire had only one thing to say.

"I had planned to celebrate Vonna's birthday in my Summer Estate just like every year but things didn't go as planned." He scoffed at Marcus as they should have returned to their St. Claire fief a day before her birthday.

However, that was not possible now that the little girl had an appointment with the Hagen family a week later.

Thus, their initial plans were thwarted and they had to stay in the Valente fief until her work here was seen through to the end.

Marcus was furious to hear about this but thinking of their conversation in the carriage where Rutherford indirectly mentioned that he too trusted him, the Viscount set his anger aside and huffed before leaving to find the perfect present for his niece.

As for the youngsters, while Roman was still calm on the outside, Knox was visibly panicking as this was the first time their cousin would be celebrating her birthday here.

This made the two young boys act secretive as they tried to put their heads together and think of a present for the little girl whom they wished to impress.

Old man Valente and Howard were the only passive spectators of this chaotic atmosphere in the Valente household.

The cause for this was that they had already prepared a present for the little girl a long time ago and only needed to wait until it was time to bring it out.

As for Yvonne, she spent her time eating the new delicacies of the Valente Fief while spending time with Demon.

She was treating this as her mini-vacation during a work trip, something that she had never been able to execute flawlessly during her last life.

Therefore, this time, she was going to cherish her free time and spend it doing the things that made her happy.

'Is this how SO feels while relaxing during his work trips?' She suddenly thought of her strange pen pal who had done her a favor in exchange for a chance to meet with her in person.
