After two weeks being hospitalized, he decided to return to the office. The doctors and his mother were really againts it but Xi Jian didn't care. Feeling boredom in the same room for days killed him. In addition, he needs time to calmed himself and a heap of work to avoid the thoughts that start haunting him.

During his rehabilitation period, Xi Jian realized that his feelings for his bestfriend's sister were feelings that he had never felt before. He thought he was getting crazy. He did not let Ling Yue disappear from his sight even for a bit.

He provided all her necessities so that Ling Yue had no reason to go anywhere. He even told his bodyguard to check the bathroom if Ling Yue did not return in fifteen minutes. Even if Ling Yue just sat with him without saying anything, Xi Jian felt his heart at the fullest.

He only let Ling Yue out of his room when his people told him that a family member would be coming. Xi Jian didn't want them to meet Ling Yue and make her uncomfortable.

Xi Jian even developed a habit of touching Ling Yue. He did it openly and secretly. Sometimes he only asked to hold her hand, sometimes he hugged her for slept and sometimes he stole a kiss when she not aware. Xi Jian really became a pathetic man who couldn't sleep if he didn't see her, and didn't sleep well if Ling Yue wasn't beside him. Xi Jian was afraid of himself, who could not be separated from that little figure. So Xi Jian chose to return to work and limit himself to interacting with Ling Yue again. He wouldn't break his own promise.

He couldn't.

Xi Jian was sure he did not love Ling Yue. He was obsessed with her because Ling Yue was the only woman beside him.

Yes, surely only because of that.

He might not love her.

He could not.

"Mr. Xi, you have a meeting in five minutes. The people from the construction company have arrived." Bai Xu said softly. The boss was a little strange after returning from the hospital. Xi Jian glanced at him and got up from his seat. He then walked towards the meeting room and Bai Xu trailed behind.

Xi Jian stopped walking when he saw Ling Yue heading for the pantry area accompanied by other legal colleagues. The smile on Ling Yue's face looked charming. Her outward appearance had changed a little. In his eyes, she was more attractive.

"Who is that?" Bai Xu was stunned and a second then turned his gaze far ahead. He saw Ling Yue and Bo Xilai enter the pantry together. "That's Mr. Bo Xilai. He was the one who holds the Tong Zhou district case replacing An Ruan."

"Why is he ... no. Let's go." Xi Jian canceled his intention and headed back to the meeting room.

Ling Yue felt Xi Jian's presence before she entered the pantry. She deliberately slowed down her steps and gave time for him if Xi Jian wanted to call her. But she had to swallow her disappointment because Xi Jian only stopped briefly and continued on without saying hello.

Being together with Xi Jian for almost two weeks, Ling Yue found herself cared so much for that man. Out of the cold attitude that he still often displays, Ling Yue could still felt her heart beat happily. She loved it when his childish and clingy act directed at her. She tolerated his anger just because she said she wanted to leave and she didn't mind when he increasingly being touchy-feely. She cared so much that she didn't realize Xi Jian's presence was so large that he took a portion in her heart.

There has been no marriage talks as she had hoped lately. No follow-up occurred. Ling Yue hoped to meet Xi Jian's family and hear even a little about it. Strangely, although she was almost always in the hospital, she had never met Xi Jian's relatives or family.

After returning to the office, he never looked for Ling Yue again in her office to have lunch together. Ling Yue considered her grandfather's words this time to be merely a joke that resulted in growing a bud in her heart.

Buds of love that start to blacken slowly before it could really grow. She looked at Xi Jian's back which began to disappear at the end of the corridor.

"What's wrong?" Bo Xilai followed the direction of Ling Yue's point of view.

"Nothing." Ling Yue turned and smiled wryly.

Maybe she should forget this feeling.
