After Jake was done mastering the new items, he began to head to the final part of the dungeon. The walls were completely overtaken by ice and some cold crystals. Even though the snow couldn't enter this dungeon due to the direction of the wind. He wondered why things were like that... he always imagined that the design of the dungeons was random...
As usual, he waited for the monsters to show him the right path whenever he found it split in three ways. Thanks to it, he found the last room after just one hour, even though the dungeon was pretty deep in that mountain. Unlike Jake had imagined, he found the boss right behind the crystal of the dungeon. The creature wasn't much bigger than the previous grizzlies, but it was a lot more humanoid. It could even sit cross-legged while its arms were crossed. By the look of things, the monster was also meditating, so it should have some level of intelligence.

Jake's Appraisal finally reached a level where he could see the passive physical skills of the bosses, but that only made him frown… why the heck would they have skills at level five hundred when the others barely reached level one hundred? Could it be a bonus granted only to the bosses?
"That is hella weird…" Jake thought. "Regardless, this thing will be a lot tougher to take out than the previous boss. It can't fly, but it looks a lot smarter and its body is also optimized for direct combat. I lose in all aspects, probably. My only advantage is that I can use potions."
Fighting that thing head-on right now would probably be one of Jake's worst ideas, but he was too excited for a good fight to care about the dungeon. He wondered if he got some brain damage in the previous fights, that would explain the insanity that he was thinking of doing.
Jake at least had the idea of thinking for a while about how he could deal with the fact that all of the parameters of the boss were higher than his. While fighting an enemy like that wasn't something new for him, it was the first time that Jake truly felt that he would be in trouble if he fights like usual. His instincts never failed him, so he couldn't fail his instincts.
After thinking for a while, Jake managed to have some ideas about how to handle all those aspects, the ideas weren't perfect, but at least he now could see himself defeating the monster and that was some progress made since he didn't see that before… Even though he never thought of retreating.
After that, Jake entered the last part of the dungeon and the boss get up while facing him with serious eyes. The monster truly wasn't just a bloodthirsty beast… It was a creature that could understand every single of Jake's actions.
"Can you understand me?" Jake asked.
"What is the point of your question?" The boss asked.
"There isn't much of a point, but I think I should treat you with enough respect instead of just thinking that you are like the other bosses," Jake said. "My name is Jake, what is yours?"
"Vare," Vare replied. "Human called Jake, why are you here? Do you want to stop our goal or are you working for the system?"
"I wouldn't say that I am working for the system, the system is just offering a reward good enough for me," Jake replied. "By the way, who is the us that you are referring to and what is you goal?"
"You don't need to learn about that," Vare said and then assumed a battle stance. "Knowing that you are here and working for the system alone is enough to make us enemies."
"If I were to say that I weren't, would that change things in any way?" Jake asked while reading his sword and shield.
"It might have given room for us to negotiate, but that is irrelevant now," Vare said.
Jake couldn't understand how that would be possible, but he understood that the talk was over and that Varr wanted to fight. He dashed at Jake and he barely saw the boss moving. Still, Jake reacted on time to jump to the side and when he saw the image of Vare suddenly appearing in front of him, Jake almost swung his sword, but a blast of wind pushed him away. Jake barely could believe that just the shockwave caused by the movement of the enemy made him fly for a couple of meters…
When Jake landed, he immediately saw the enemy's claws approaching his face, but he kicked the ground and then used Explosive Touch to escape the attack. The sudden boost in speed made him succeed in his escape and he also attacked Vare's wrist, but his fur and muscles there were so thick that Jake's sword barely cut anything.
Jake barely could believe that Vare could have such high defense without wearing any piece of armor. It was almost cheating considering that he also had some crazy skills. Still, instead of wasting time thinking about that. Jake just prepared himself for the next step.
Vare turned around to attack Jake and then he charged, but then Jake did the same while aiming at that guy's claws. He used Sonic Thrust and then his weapons pierced a few centimeters in the enemy's hands, but not deep enough to prevent Vare from attacking using the remaining claw…
