Silence reigned in the court when Noah's body hit the ground and refused to stand.
His arms weren't bleeding. He had also stopped the empowerment process, meaning there wouldn't be cracks anymore. Still, Noah instantly regretted taking that action.
His mind was In turmoil but his body failed to reveal the immense amount of pain he was undergoing. He wished he had died.
Noah simply lay on the ground and soon passed out.
The others were firstly stunned by what they had witnessed. Even the knight who had been pushed back was still in shock.
Nevertheless, when Noah's body didn't move for an awfully long few seconds, he rushed forward to crouch before the man.
His eyes instantly fell on the cracks within the very fabric of his arms. He had never seen an injury like that. But to his fear, he realized that Noah's breaths were getting slower and slower.
At this point, the others were also worried and rushed forward. The knight had already carried Noah in his arms, however.
"What happened? Bon had been the first to ask, then his eyes fell on Aiden's fair hands. He was appalled by the strange sight and took a step back.
Madison saw it too and felt her heart skip a beat. Still, she managed to hold in her horrific surprise at the beyond-strange wound to glance at the armored expert, who was already being questioned by his colleague.
"I'll go bear this case to Lady Liya," The knight who still had Noah in his arms announced startling the other knights.
"She'll be furious!" One of the other knights exclaimed as though that decision was the stupidest one he had heard in his life.
"There's no other choice," the expert stated in a tone dripping with resolve. He bent his knees alerting the others, who grabbed Bon and Madison.
The knight took off shattering the sound barrier in the process. They were unable to use their flight powers, but leaping at their full might was completely possible.
His action had caused the entire court to tremble. Even the barriers flickered a bit. Thankfully nothing more happened.
The other Knights muttered curses and grabbed Madison and Bon before leaping toward their friend.
Tier 4's were capable of leaping through kilometers of distance in mere seconds. The castle was immense and its compound even spread for miles.
The knight holding Noah arrived on a large pond, but he stepped forward, leaping again. His departure had caused an explosion of sorts. Spreading water on the grass around the pond.
His destination wasn't too far anymore.
Lady Liya. A tier higher stage 4 expert who would be considered an Imperial knight due to her power and loyalty to the royal family. Still, rather than her battle prowess, she was known for one thing. Her status as a Deviant.
Deviants being rare even amongst the ranks of the royal, she was known for her useful ability to heal.
Her ability made her presence vital amongst the ranks of the imperials and went on missions with them. Her ability had been confirmed to heal all diseases that could afflict cultivators.
Those within the third tier and above hardly had any diseases that could affect them, but there were cases where even tier 4's died from something their body simply couldn't combat.
Nevertheless, mostly wounds and lost limbs were ever needed to be healed.
A silver tower somewhere northeast of the grand castle appeared in the knight's eyes and he swallowed hard when he saw it but would not turn back.
A wide garden befitting of a person her status unfolded in the knight's eyes and he landed on the cobble path right before the front gate.
Immediately passing the gate he strode down the cobbled pathway to reach the tower. Her garden was incredible. Even Noah would admit that.
He reached the front door and knocked on it. Coincidentally he had recently been there. Nevertheless, his aura was tense.
The simple-looking bronze-colored door trembled a few moments after he knocked. He could already feel her presence on his body.
"I need you to check this young man out. He seemed to have injured himself and they are one of the guests of the council.
Silence.
Loud bangs reached The knight's ears and he turned to find that his colleagues had arrived already. They didn't sound happy.
Before they could reach him, however, the door flung open and a force pulled him from its insides
The expert found the world spinning around him, but he was calm. Lady Liya's tower was known for its weird mechanics. No one, even tier 5's could directly find out her position without her permission.
According to what people knew, she had layered a few traps that led to small dimensional pockets, all of which were powered by the purple mana stones.
The only tower that had this even more than she was Princess Riveta's tower. Being the daughter of the king and queen, she had access to many things. The number of traps placed with her tower was rumored to have crossed one hundred.
Noah had never experienced any trouble because Riveta had been the one to initially bring him in, and had marked his figure as not-dangerous, allowing him unrestricted access to the tower.
If only Noah knew he could actually spend centuries' worth of time within the traps. Riveta had been very trusting of him, and he had not disappointed.
The knight regained awareness inside an ash-painted bedroom featuring a table and chair, one that overlooked the world through the window.
Shockingly, rather than the castle itself, that window seemed to overlook the very city.
Even if the sun shone brightly outside, the room was relatively dark and hid the individual sitting behind the chair and table. Still, the Knight could notice the glowing pair of green eyes which had their gaze on the man in his arms.
"What do you want," A feminine voice reached the expert's ears and for the nth time in his lifetime his heart fluttered at how great and cute the voice sounded.
"Him," the knight responded quite somberly. The expression within his armor bespoke of sadness.
"I know you told me not to return here, but I did so not for myself, but for him," the knight explained.
The woman remained silent, but the sound of her chair scraping the ground filled the room, then she stepped into the light revealing her features.
The knight drew in his breath at that sight. No matter how many times he gazed at her, he could not get used to her features.
Or maybe that was due to the growing feelings of affection within him.
