Chapter 151 - Hundredmeter Shot
Ye Hao watched Xie Fen with a playful smile and said, “Time to keep your promise.”
Xie Fen was at a loss for words, internally cursing Ye Hao non-stop.
“If you don't tell Meixue that I have feelings for you, I'll rip your clothes to pieces. You know I'm capable of it,” Ye Hao warned, fixing his gaze on Xie Fen.
“Can't we agree on a different punishment?” Xie Fen asked with a hint of desperation.
“No,” Ye Hao replied, shaking his head firmly.
After a moment's hesitation, Xie Fen walked over to Meixue, aware of the dozens of classmates watching.
Meixue had always been seen as an oddity at Riverdale College.
As the news spread like wildfire, an increasing number of students followed Xie Fen.
Ye Hao and Zhang Lan walked shoulder to shoulder, trailing behind Xie Fen.
“You're wicked,” Zhang Lan chuckled.
“I have to make troublemakers like him pay a price,” Ye Hao replied with a grin. “Meixue is one of Riverdale College's brightest students, after all.”
“How do you know that?”
“Pianpian told me.”
Tang Pianpian and Meixue were classmates. Tang Pianpian was the top student in their grade, with Meixue coming in second.
Zhang Lan's smile briefly waned.
Ye Hao, focused intently on Xie Fen's actions, failed to notice her reaction.
“Meixue,” Ye Hao called out when Xie Fen was about ten meters away from her.
Meixue looked at Ye Hao, puzzled and uncertain.
She couldn't fathom why Ye Hao, a well-known figure at the school, would suddenly call out to her.
At this point, there wasn't a soul in Riverdale College who didn't recognize Ye Hao.
“Xie Fen is about to confess his feelings to you,” Ye Hao announced, pointing at Xie Fen ahead of him.
Xie Fen was tall and quite handsome, known as one of the good-looking guys at Riverdale College.
Meixue was taken aback.
Watching Xie Fen approach, her breath quickened.
Xie Fen, facing the plump Meixue, couldn't hide his distaste.
Nevertheless, he managed to force a smile. “Meixue, I like you.”
Taking a deep breath, Zhang Lan walked towards the distant basketball hoop. Once there, she signaled to Ye Hao.
He smiled, infused the stone with a strand of vital spirit, and sent it soaring over a hundred meters straight into the hoop.
Zhang Lan watched the stone tumble out of the hoop, utterly astounded and at a loss for words.
“This is too shocking,” Zhang Lan said, her face etched with disbelief.
After a short while, Ye Hao approached her. “Do you believe it now?”
”How did you manage that?”
“I've been training in martial arts for many years. If I couldn't do at least this much, I'd consider myself a failure.”
“Could you teach me?” Zhang Lan asked, her eyes brimming with admiration.
“You lack the innate talent for martial arts.” Ye Hao, having mastered Aura Observation from Xiao Ming, could see at a glance that Zhang Lan did not possess a spirit root.
“Who are you to say I don't have the talent for martial arts?” Zhang Lan challenged, lifting her leg to kick at Ye Hao.
With a gentle tap of his hand on Zhang Lan's foot, she spun uncontrollably three times before regaining her balance. She stared at Ye Hao, utterly astounded.
“You could train for another ten years and still not be my equal,” Ye Hao said with a laugh.
“Don't get too cocky,” Zhang Lan retorted and charged at Ye Hao, aiming a fierce knee strike at him.
Ye Hao's body moved with the grace of a drifting willow, pulling Zhang Lan along as they retreated nearly ten meters.
”Was that Lightness Skill?” Zhang Lan asked, amazed.
“You could say that,” Ye Hao replied with a smile.
“It's no wonder you had the courage to leap from the cliff!” Zhang Lan's admiration for Ye Hao grew. She grabbed his arm and shook it eagerly. “Will you teach me Lightness Skill?”
Ye Hao considered for a moment. “Tonight, I'll introduce you to someone. If you pass their assessment, you might have the opportunity to learn Lightness Skill.”
“Who is it?”
“You'll find out in due time.”
“Is it a woman?” Zhang Lan inquired, suspicion written all over her face.
Ye Hao gave her a resigned look. “It's no wonder men find women's suspicions so vexing; they're often too accurate.”
“What's your relationship with her?” Zhang Lan pressed.
“We're colleagues,” Ye Hao answered simply.
Zhang Lan felt an inexplicable sense of relief.
She knew she didn't stand much of a chance against Tang Pianpian, but Zhang Lan had never stopped pursuing Ye Hao.
But she had no desire to gain another romantic rival.
