C29 – The Joint Visit of the Two Eldest Sisters
At night, Wen Huaimu and the elfin both slept deeply. The day had been short, yet incredibly fulfilling, with events unfolding one after another. In fact, more had happened to Wen Huaimu in that single day than in the previous decade.
The busier the day, the more exhausted he felt. And although his psychic force had grown slightly, it overwhelmed his mind. As soon as he hit the bed, he plunged into a profound slumber. The elfin, too, curled up in Wen Huaimu’s embrace, finding a snug position before drifting off to dreamland.
Upon waking the next morning, he felt invigorated, sensing another slight increase in his psychic force. The constant sense of enhancement was exhilarating.
Glancing outside, the daylight indicated the usual time for students to start their day. His internal clock had naturally adjusted to this routine. He was, after all, still a student.
He sensed the elfin was still in deep sleep. Tucked in the crook of his arm, her lips pursed and drooling, she looked utterly adorable.
Wen Huaimu couldn’t resist tapping the elfin’s nose before using the ring to transport her inside it. Her consumption of magic and psychic force was greater than his; she truly needed more rest.
After freshening up, it was no surprise to find his parents had already left. Accustomed to their early starts and late returns, he often missed seeing them.
He ate the breakfast his mother had prepared and then set off for school.
Midsummer was upon them, and the semester was drawing to a close. Despite Wen Huaimu’s personality transformation and his newfound wealth, he remained committed to his studies. He was the beacon of hope for his parents and was determined to produce results that would put their hearts at ease. Besides, pursuing his education was fitting for someone his age.
Arriving at school, it was time for the usual classes to begin.
His classroom, Grade 11 Class 3, was as lively and noisy as ever, with many seats vacant—a testament to the students’ disregard for school regulations.
This time, however, the commotion was different. The class was divided into two distinct groups, and it was clear that there was no love lost between them.
As soon as Wen Huaimu entered the room, the two rival groups fell silent and all eyes turned to him.
Truth be told, Wen Huaimu was taken aback. Had his reputation in the class soared to such heights? Could his mere presence really quell a brewing storm?
But it didn’t take long for Wen Huaimu to understand the reason for the gathering. Both factions were circling around individuals.
One group was huddled around Mu Jingbai, who cast a disdainful glance at Wen Huaimu, while the other group eyed him with curiosity. However, they too were centered around a girl—a cute one with large, innocent eyes.
Was he even human?
With a single palm strike, he had sent a man weighing over a hundred kilograms soaring through the air!
Could this be the fabled inner strength of martial arts?
“Look, Sijia, Wen Huaimu must be a martial arts expert,” exclaimed a scrawny young man with thick glasses beside Geng Sijia, his eyes shining with admiration and excitement.
“My brother practices martial arts too, but he doesn’t seem to be quite this powerful,” Geng Sijia mused, her gaze tinged with curiosity.
“You dare to harm my man; do you have a death wish?” Mu Jingbai stood up furiously, glaring at Wen Huaimu, though her expression betrayed a hint of shock and caution.
Mu Jingbai wasn’t foolish. She had come to check out why Wen Huaimu, the usual target of her bullying, had suddenly grown so bold. She hadn’t anticipated his formidable transformation; none of her brother’s lackeys could match it.
Wen Huaimu paid her no mind, his gaze settling on the student still seated. His look was one of utter indifference.
The student had hoped to seize the moment to make an impression, a chance like this was rare.
But Wen Huaimu’s following palm strike shattered the student’s courage. He was even scrawnier than the one who had passed out, and he dreaded pain!
At that moment, the student remained seated, paralyzed as his legs had turned to jelly.
As Wen Huaimu’s gaze fell upon him once more, he couldn’t shake the feeling that a multitude of sharp spikes had suddenly sprouted beneath him, prompting him to leap to his feet. With a smile plastered on his face and a nod of deference, he quickly put some distance between himself and Wen Huaimu.
Wen Huaimu was simply too intimidating, resembling a ferocious beast in his presence.
Taking his seat, Wen Huaimu’s attention shifted to Mu Jingbai. To his surprise, she appeared to be without makeup today, exuding a fresh, youthful charm.
Yet, the memory of her past actions towards him cast a shadow over this revelation, leaving him conflicted. She was so stunning; why did she insist on being his adversary?
