“Prince Edward, we have located the whereabouts of Prince Kyle.”
“Where is he?” Edward, with a calm gaze, sat in the cockpit of the flying spacecraft, his fingers tapping the table impatiently as he inquired.
Ever since the news of Kyle’s escape broke out, their father was furious. The wrath was directed towards Consort Katie and the Basalom family he was affiliated with. Many of their assets were seized, and Consort Katie was confined, unable to leave.
Externally, it appeared as if Prince Kyle had offended the Third Prince and was now sentenced to death.
The Basalom family had fallen out of favor and was on the brink of collapse. Their noble business partners publicly announced the termination of all relations with the Basalom family, leaving them in a desolate state.
One would have thought that Consort Katie and the Basalom family had learned their lesson. Yet, they had the audacity to meddle in Kyle’s exile!
Didn’t Consort Katie realize that if his brother, Si Huaixi, discovered that Kyle’s death was staged and they had conspired to deceive Si Huaixi, Kyle would face the uncontrollable rage of Si Huaixi? At that point, not even the entire Odysseus Empire could save him…
Prince Edward’s face turned ominously dark, once again filled with extreme dissatisfaction and anger towards the Basalom family.
The Odysseus royal family was already scarce in members, and though he felt a slight sense of complex guilt for sparing Kyle without Si Huaixi’s knowledge, he had no choice. If he didn’t, he would be faced with losing one of his brothers.
However, the Basalom family was merely using Kyle, intending to use him up as a puppet king of the Odysseus Empire, with the Basalom family secretly controlling the empire from behind the scenes.
Edward had been observing the Basalom family’s actions all these years. If they truly had Kyle’s best interests at heart, how could they have assisted him in escaping when the order was officially proclaimed as an exile but was, in fact, for his protection?
Edward fervently hoped to retrieve Kyle before Si Huaixi discovered his whereabouts. A glint of fierce determination flashed through his eyes, harboring hidden fury.
— This time, even if he has to break Kyle’s limbs and imprison him, he would never let him go.
One of his subordinates hesitated, hesitant to speak, but eventually spoke up, saying, “Prince Kyle is on the Angelina Cruise Ship, owned by Duke Basalom.”
Edward’s brow furrowed in warmth, and he said in a deep voice, “How could he go to that place?”
The subordinate revealed another astonishing piece of news.
“The Third Prince seems to have also headed towards the Angelina Cruise Ship.”
After that incident, the empire raised its surveillance on Si Huaixi to the highest level. It was because Si Huaixi, for unknown reasons, suddenly left the capital of the main star, which alarmed the empire’s institutions. They dispatched people to investigate the cause.
As a result, they discovered that it was due to a request made by Si Huaixi’s agent. Continuing the investigation in that direction, they unexpectedly found a person who had communicated with the agent. The voice matched that of Prince Kyle, and further investigation into the origin of the communication led them to the Angelina Cruise Ship.
Following the leads, they uncovered the location of the fugitive Prince Kyle.
Upon hearing this news, Edward’s expression immediately changed. No one understood better than him how much Si Huaixi desired Kyle’s death.
He had once contemplated tampering with the surveillance video, creating a simulated video of Kyle’s execution. However, after careful consideration, he decided to have Kyle ingest the fake death medicine instead.
Although it was a fake death medicine, in reality, it was a shock-inducing drug. If Kyle wasn’t awakened within ten minutes of taking the drug, it would result in true death.
Edward had initially believed that once Si Huaixi saw Kyle’s death, the enmity would be completely resolved. But he never expected that his brother would watch the surveillance video of Kyle’s apparent death for nearly ten minutes, his eyes chillingly cold.
It seemed as if Si Huaixi wanted to drag Kyle’s lifeless body out and subject him to public disgrace.
Edward knew that Si Huaixi wasn’t simply watching, he was using his psychic powers to confirm whether Kyle was truly dead. If Edward hadn’t prepared for this by having someone disguise as a corpse carrier and send the shock-induced faked-dead Kyle away, the plan would have almost failed.
Now, leaving these two brothers consumed by hatred in the same place, Edward couldn’t imagine the consequences that would follow. “Change the course to the Angelina Cruise! Take him away before Si Huaixi finds Kyle.”
However, when Edward arrived, the scene was already in chaos. Stains of blood splattered across the laboratory, and seeing Kyle covered in blood, he almost thought he arrived too late.
The experiment, Angel, was already dead. Dr. Brown’s expression was one of shock. He couldn’t believe that Si Huaixi had truly destroyed his most prized experiment. “How could this happen… If we could have unraveled the secret of Angel’s four-century-long life, it would have been a groundbreaking scientific achievement! And now you’ve ruined it! Do you even realize what that means?!!”
Dr. Brown, consumed by anger, was on the verge of losing his composure. But as he confronted Si Huaixi and met his cold, chilling azure eyes filled with a murderous intent, a bucket of cold water was poured over his head, instantly sobering him up and filling him with fear.
This was no ordinary experiment to be disposed of at will. He had watched the footage of Si Huaixi confronting the entire Imperial Army’s mechs hundreds of times but had failed to find any weakness. He was like a flawless humanoid weapon, possessing extraordinary agility, reaction speed, and immense strength. He could effortlessly wield heavy weapon mechs with his bare hands, standing alone against the might of the Empire’s thousands of soldiers.
If it weren’t for Dr. Brown having watched the footage hundreds of times, he wouldn’t believe that a human could reach such a level. If Si Huaixi wanted to kill him, it would be no more difficult than swatting a mosquito.
“I misspoke. Angel, the experiment, is dead. I’m just a scientist tasked by the Odyssean Royal Family to research psychic abilities. What Kyle, the Second Prince, did has nothing to do with me. Please, don’t kill me…” Even though Si Huaixi hadn’t done anything yet, Dr. Brown’s imagination had frightened him to the point where his heart skipped a beat, his face turned pale, and his legs trembled, as if he would collapse any second.
Fortunately, Si Huaixi’s attention was focused on Kyle at that moment, leaving no room for Dr. Brown. Seeing this, Dr. Brown immediately scrambled away, rolling and crawling as far as he could. He didn’t want to end up like Kyle, with his legs disabled. Dr. Brown’s hasty footsteps as he tried to escape didn’t stir any interest in Kyle Odysseus, who had a vacant, hopeless gaze. He had completely lost his fighting spirit.
His hope shattered before his eyes, and he no longer wanted to struggle. Si Huaixi was undoubtedly going to kill him, and there was no escape. He had resigned himself to his fate, regretting why he hadn’t stayed in exile. Tears of regret welled up in Kyle’s despair-filled eyes. If he had been exiled, at least he would still be alive.
Si Huaixi’s gaze was chillingly cold, as if he didn’t want to waste any more time. In silence, he aimed the gun.
Prince Edward arrived just in time to witness this scene, Si Huaixi holding a gun and Kyle, his head hanging low, covered in blood.
“Wait…” Prince Edward hastened his steps, rushing towards Si Huaixi, only to be abruptly halted by the barrel of the gun.
Si Huaixi furrowed his brows, and his deep, icy eyes gleamed with a cold light. He aimed the gun at the person who was interfering, someone related to the bloodline—Edward had deceived him.
Si Huaixi hadn’t yet settled the score with Kyle, who wasn’t actually dead.
Prince Edward’s imposing demeanor receded, replaced by a gentle smile. As he cast a sidelong glance at Kyle, who was barely breathing but not yet lifeless, he turned his head and tried to initiate a conversation with Si Huaixi. “Let’s calm down for a moment. There are some things I need to explain and apologize for…”
Si Huaixi remained silent, slowly lowering his finger onto the trigger. His eyes were icy and indifferent, showing little interest in Edward’s explanations.
Prince Edward’s expression changed, and he quickly said, “In the name of Queen Vanessa, I beg you to spare Kyle’s life. If you hold any grudge against him for causing the death of General Pei, I can avenge you by torturing Kyle and making him live in prolonged suffering and repentance. Wouldn’t that be better than ending his life prematurely?”
Edward, in his attempt to prevent Si Huaixi from killing Kyle, was willing to employ any means necessary to spare Kyle’s life. To prove his words, Edward approached Kyle and dislocated his hand.
A click.
Kyle, in a lifeless state, let out a muffled groan. He hung his head low, resigned and without resistance. Though Kyle, resembling a limp ragdoll, appeared pitiful, Edward had actually exerted a considerable amount of strength to restrain himself. Once Si Huaixi was willing to spare Kyle, the dislocated joint, which was not a severe injury, could be treated in the medical cabin.
A glimmer of darkness flashed in Edward’s eyes as he turned to Si Huaixi, his face filled with sincerity. “Now that Kyle is already a useless person, he can no longer harm anyone. If you desire to torment him, you are free to do so… But as a member of the Odyssean royal family, I hope that we can achieve some level of ‘harmonious coexistence.’ The only condition is that you spare Kyle’s life.”
Si Huaixi’s sharp eyes narrowed slightly.
Observing this bizarre pair of deeply connected brothers, Si Huaixi couldn’t help but admire Edward’s resolute and ruthless nature when it came to persuading him not to kill Kyle. It was indeed in his blood, flowing with the Odyssean royal lineage, just like a foolish, cruel, and indifferent-to-life brother.
Si Huaixi made it clear that he had no fondness for tormenting people.
However, it had to be said that when Edward let go of his cherished younger brother’s hands, he caught a fleeting glimpse of hatred and murderous intent in Kyle’s lowered eyes, a scene that revealed the ugliest side of human nature, akin to the end of the world.
Edward wanted to save his brother, but Kyle had long desired to kill him.
“You want to save him?”
Si Huaixi asked, even though it was a rhetorical question.
Prince Edward nodded with a composed gaze.
“Then it’s up to you to decide Kyle’s fate.”
