Chapter 55 - Hostile gaze

Today was Lisa's first day at work. She spent her day by getting acquainted with her coworkers and took rough knowledge about her duties.

While the manager was introducing her to the colleagues,  she could clearly feel their hostile gazes.

This was understandable.  Afterall most of them had to work for years in the branch offices to prove their worth. Only the best of them had been chosen to work at the main office. But Lisa didn't have to go through the troubles as she directly joined the main branch as their senior. They felt that it was unfair to them.

Thus, All the colleagues began to scrutinize her. Lisa did the same. She looked at the angry expressions on their faces and sneered.

'So you guys think that it is unfair to you that I got this job ahead of you? Try marry someone like Ruhan then. You will know the definition of unfair. Huh!'

Nevermind...if she had to survive in this office she could not always rely on her father-in-law.  She had to prove her worth to win them over. Only by acquiring certain amount of power would Lisa be able to help LiCorp.

Thus, she greeted them politely without any air of being arrogance, as if she was not the daughter-in-law of their boss.

Baki was observing her from a corner and nodded with approval. This girl really had high EQ. To be honest, Baki really felt that Ruhan wasn't suited for someone like Lisa. She was way out of his league.  He sincerely hoped that she was not a spy. Otherwise....

Lisa was busy at getting acquainted with her colleagues and Baki was busy at observing her. None of them noticed that a person snuck out of the crowd and went to the washroom to make a call,

"Hello..it's me. It's about the girl you told me about. She has already joined the office..."
