Chapter 88 - Tired

From the moment Lisa began to suspect Ruhan, she started to become restless again.

She was exhausted but couldn't sleep.

After tossing for a while, she looked at the man lying beside her. He looked more handsome and innocent under the moonlit night.

1 month ago he intentionally damaged the side room and shamelessly shifted into the bedroom.

In the last month he was comparatively well behaved. Although he tried to take advantage of her every now and then and chanted about her duty as a wife, he had never crossed the line. He also didn't try to interfere with her work. That was why Lisa had slowly let her guard down and didn't pay much attention to him.

"Just thinking...human are really vulnerable while sleeping. I could strangle you in your sleep you know..." Lisa tried to take back her hand.

Ruhan chuckled, "What happened to you at this time? Did you see a nightmare?"

"Nothing. Let go." Lisa slapped his hand away.

Ruhan turned towards her, "You are not wrong. Human are really vulnerable at nignt. I could attack you now you know? And you can not blame me. Afterall you are the one who assaulted me in my sleep." he took a peck at her cheek and prepared for her backlash.

But to his surprise, she didn't hit him or kicked him away as usual. She just glanced at him and slept with her back facing him. "Go to sleep."

Her response made him surprised and regretful.

'If I had wanted to be more intimate with her today would she have let me?'

He looked at her lecherously and then lied down to sleep. He should not push his luck. Lisa's strength could to be neglected. It really hurts him when she hits her.

Lisa still couldn't sleep. Her father's advice began to play in her mind repeatedly.

'You must always be careful. In business no one is your absolute friend or enemy.'

'The one you trust the most is the one who can hurt you the most. So always keep your guard on. '

'Enemies can attack you at any time behind your back. So always pay heed to your surroundings.'

While Lisa was at LiCorp, she always followed her father's advices. But while she was at Ahmed Corporations, she didn't work as hard as she did at LiCorp.

First of all, she wasn't as affectionate to Ahmed Corporations as she was to LiCorp.

Secondly, she had always heard that the employees at the main branch were specifically selected after years of observation and training. So she didn't keep her guard up.

'What if the one who stays with me 24/7 is the one who wants to hurt me? How am I supposed to guard against him?'
