Chapter 67 The World Renowned Trash Is A Limit Breaker?!
'Either way, I can just verify my conjectures when the staff in the Transcendent Association have verified Bell's identity.'
With that thought in mind, Alister followed Bell as the two of them walked to the front desk where a receptionist greeted them and asked them to state their purpose of visit as well as their identities.
In response to this, Bell took the lead while Alister stood beside him and watched on the sidelines.
"I am Bell Crane, a 9th-level transcendent who has recently returned from the battlefield. You can check my files in the database if you want to verify my identity."
"My buddy here has recently awakened his superpower and became a limit breaker, becoming a 9th-level transcendent at the start," Bell added as he pointed his thumb toward Alister beside him.
"Huh? I beg your pardon. Can you please repeat that? I feel like my ears have become faulty. Limit breaker? 9th-level transcendent?"
The receptionist asked Bell out of surprise and disbelief. His hands were quite fast so he had already checked the database as soon as Bell mentioned it so he knew that Bell wasn't lying and Bell was indeed a verified 9th-level transcendent.
The receptionist wasn't ignorant of the commotion that had occurred in the city so he knew that the purpose of Bell leaving the battlefield was none other than dealing with the monster invasion.
However, a 9th-level transcendent like Bell had verified that the young man beside him was not only a transcendent but also a limit breaker?
Limit breakers might be an uncommon existence among the transcendents, but most of them would only start at the 2nd-level or 3rd-level yet that was already considered rare.
Not to mention, 9th-level transcendent was considered the peak for most transcendents as not everyone had the talent to reach it, let alone go above it.
Yet from what Bell had told him, the young man beside him was a limit breaker who had started at the 9th-level.
In all history, there was only two person who had become a 9th-level limit breaker. And if the young man was really a 9th-level limit breaker, then wouldn't that mean he was the third person in history?
Such absurdity had made the receptionist rearrange his glasses and look at Alister in shock as he marveled at Alister's existence.
'A young man like him was absurdly talented to awaken at the 9th-level transcendent at the start? What the heck am I doing with my life then? Why is life so unfair?'
Alister could read the thoughts of the receptionist without having to use his mind power since the expression of the receptionist was too easy to read due to the receptionist not putting up a facade since he was too shocked to do so.
'Sigh, this is not my problem but Bell's. I didn't say I awakened at the 9th-level at the start since I had worked hard for a decade to reach this level in the zombie world.'
'However, I can't refute that the identity that Bell made up for me is quite useful. I don't know if it was intentional or if Bell had really thought I was a limit breaker who awakened at the 9th-level. Either way, it benefited me anyway so I might as well keep quiet.'
Noticing that Alister wasn't replying to confirm it, Bell assured the receptionist, "I am not lying. He is really a 9th-level limit breaker. You can test his power if you want and if you checked his records, he should still be at 18 years old, likely awakened in the second phase."
The receptionist shook his head after hearing Bell's words, "No, it's not that I don't believe you, but this is just too absurd. It was only a few days since we discovered someone who was not only a 9th-level limit breaker, but also someone who possessed a saint scepter."
"Yet now, there is also someone equally as terrifying as that one? Is this the start of a new era?"
After managing to somehow retain his composure, the receptionist asked Alister, "Young man, what's your talent grade?"
The receptionist didn't ask about Alister's power level anymore since not only did he receive an assurance from Bell, but he also felt that Alister was stronger than him.
The receptionist was a 6th-level transcendent and since Alister was stronger than him, then Alister must be at least 7th-level or above. And with Bell's assurance, he didn't have to ask about that anymore.
What he was curious about was discovering Alister's talent grade. After all, most limit breakers wouldn't have a weak talent grade and if Alister also possessed a saint scepter talent like that woman, then the receptionist would feel fortunate that he was one of the earliest who discovered the talent of this young man.
Not everyone could meet those powerhouses at the 9th-level and above. Even a 7th-level transcendent was already considered a powerhouse since they could deal with most threats that invaded the world.
Not to mention, the receptionist knew that above the Transcendent Emperor was the Transcendent Saint!
However, there has yet to be the appearance of the Transcendent Saint in the public but their existence was already confirmed. The boss behind the scenes of the Transcendent Association was none other than those Transcendent Saints.
If the young man in front of him possessed the saint scepter talent and had the qualification to become a Transcendent Saint, then the receptionist felt that he could brag to his colleagues that he had met a future Transcendent Saint!
Noticing the expectant looks from the receptionist, Alister sighed and responded, "I might have to disappoint you. I only have a 0-star talent."
When they heard Alister's words, they could feel that Alister wasn't lying, and that discovery made them doubt their lives.
After all, it was impossible for a limit breaker to have a 0-star talent!
Theoretically, it was possible for someone to have a high talent grade yet no superpower. But it was impossible for someone to have a 0-star talent yet have a superpower!
After all, the talent of a transcendent mostly defined their ability to absorb and refine mana from their surroundings. If they couldn't have the talent to do that, then that meant they had no mana.
And if they don't have mana, wouldn't that mean they won't have any superpowers?
Even if someone did have a superpower despite the lack of mana, they would still be unable to use their superpower. It was like a car having an engine, but it was impossible for it to drive without fuel.
Since Bell and the receptionist were quite knowledgeable in the field regarding transcendents, they knew the implication of Alister's 0-star talent yet the presence of superpower.
While Bell was still surprised, the receptionist solemnly asked, "Are you perhaps Alister Wright, the world's renowned trash who was the first to awaken a 0-star talent?"
