As he explained to Koyuki, Naoya's job was to take care of Kirihiko's personal needs, which included not only cleaning and laundry, but also cooking. He visited the house two or three times a week and usually made a lot of dishes so there will be leftovers for when I'm not here.
Once again, I put on my apron for the moment and got to work.
Kirihiko lives alone in this house, which is a renovated old house. The appearance is old-fashioned, but the kitchen has been completely remodeled and is equipped with a clean and modern kitchen appliances. There are even three cooking stoves.
After washing the dishes that have accumulated, I check the ingredients and seasonings. From there, I decide on a menu of several different dishes.
"Let's see... sauteed burdock root, boiled komatsuna, and kiriboshi-daikon..."
It was a rather reluctant decision, but that was also Kirihiko's wish. Despite her feminine appearance, Kirihiko is not much of a cook, so she requested that she eat as many vegetables as possible.
"Let's see, we're almost out of soy sauce... should I ask her to get some?"
While preparing the vegetables, I threw a message to Kirihiko on my phone.
It was marked as read in a second and the reply came immediately.
"I'm going to get it☆"
The fact that the icon is a picture of a pancake full of volume gives me the illusion that I am communicating with a high school girl.
I was just about to get down to business... when I got another message.
"By the way, I know I left with a bang, but please don't do naughty things in my house."
"I won't."
I immediately denied that part.
(I was trying not to be conscious of it...!)
Naoya and Koyuki are the only two people in the house right now.
Even though he has no intention of doing anything dirty, he can't avoid being conscious of it. Naoya is aware of his eccentricities and oddities, but he is still a normal high school boy.
Alone under the same roof with the girl you love.
...Isn't it safe to say that this is already marriage?
(I can't help it!)
He made a silly self-comment, then shook his head to shake off the ridiculous idea.
"Normalcy... normalcy..."
In times like these, simple things are more effective.
I picked up a handful of burdock root to chop it up.
"Amazing.....Sasahara-kun can cook."
"Whoa!?"
Suddenly, she spoke to me from behind, and I jolted my shoulders.
I looked over and saw Koyuki, who was supposed to be in the Japanese-style room next door, standing there, staring at the vegetables in a curious way.
"I, I was surprised... I thought you were still reading."
"I'm taking a break since I' m halfway through. Say, you can cook?"
"Well... A little..."
Naoya nodded in response to Koyuki's curious question.
My mother had taught me most of the household chores before she went abroad, and I had tried to expand my culinary skills through trial and error. Sometimes I buy ready-made food, but basically I cook for myself. I usually pack bentos with the leftovers.
When I explained this, Koyuki began to widen her eyes more and more.
"Wow, you even made your own.....bento!"
"No, but I can only make simple things. I'm going to make this burdock into a regular sauteed burdock."
"High standard indeed... I see... This is what the main character often does. "Did I do something wrong again?" he says."
❄️「十分高水準よ……そうか、これが主人公キャラがよくやるという『俺またなんかやっちゃいました?』ってやつなのね……」❄️
"Who put you up to this?"
"My sister?"
"Yeah, that's what I thought."
I am very curious to know what they talk about at home.
As Naoya sighed sullenly, Koyuki looked around and then opened her mouth with a...serious face.
"Hey, can I help you with anything?"
"Hmm? Oh, no, it's fine. I'm a part-timer, but Shirogane-san is a customer."
"Sasahara-kun can't be trusted by himself. You tend to be a bit absent-minded. I have to keep an eye on you to make sure you don't skip work."
""I am not good at cooking, but I will try my best... I need to show that I'm a proper girl at this kind of thing!" You mean?"
"Ugghhh.....knows that I'm not good at..."
Koyuki's shoulders slumped in disappointment.
There was a hint of dread in her eyes as she looked at the knife from earlier, and it was very easy to see that.
