CH.449 Duelist Genesis and Crossroads of Chaos

Name:Yugioh Card Summoner Author:
CH.449 Duelist Genesis and Crossroads of Chaos

We waited inside the dungeon for one more night to pass. It was to give the dungeon time to sort out its mana and miasma levels, and so that I could estimate if we needed to kill all the monsters here on the way out.

The final decision was that while the miasma and mana levels are slightly higher than they were before, they aren’t anything local adventurers can’t deal with, so we are good to go.

So with DM2, yes the two decided to swap a bit early since DM2 would have a powerful escort party, we made our way out of the dungeon.

After that there was a bunch of dumb stuff like paperwork to take care of. And spreading the loot from the dungeon. Most of the monster materials had been turned into dungeon points, but we still had two hydra corpses, and some other A-rank monsters that some of the adventurers wanted to keep. They were all in Storage, so I had already purified the miasma from them, so it was just handing it out and coming up with how to share the hydra materials.

For the five-headed hydra, each party got one head. So we got one, Wendy’s party got one, the local party got one, and the Narra Kingdom party got one. The last one was shared between Rudevik and the Bella Kingdom guardian.

For the octo-hydra, it was shared between the parties in a similar manner, but we didn’t take a claim for it. Each party got two heads worth of materials, while the solo adventurers got one head each.

Yes, it does mean that we really didn’t get much out of this, but you can’t always demand all the rewards, even if you are the one saving the world.

After taxing everyone back home, for which we actually split up because speed, we were finally able to return to HomeBase and I got to focus on what is important.

My new sets! Yes, that is the most important thing. Because and have Synchro monsters!

... But before I open any packs, I’ll have a quick show and tell about my unique skill with Cailie. She deserves to know how it works, and I think we can open some packs together.

It’ll be fun. Hopefully.

For maximum enjoyment, I made some nice lounge chairs for a beach in the Factory. I hope Cailie will enjoy the sea being near while we have our little chat.

So after I explained my skill to her, including how I unlock new sets and all of that, we got right into the part I was looking forward to the most.Geett the latest novels at novelhall.com

And that starts off with Duelist Genesis.

Spoiler

TDGS 1

Small Piece Golem, Geartown, Tricky Spell 4, Destructotron, Twin-Shield Defender, Jenis, Lightsworn Mender, Remote Revenge, Fish Depth Charge, Herald of Orange Light

[collapse]

Okay. Small Piece Golem is ... not really all that good.

Geartown is perfect and I’ll make a Geartown room in the Factory soon. Hopefully no Ancient Gear Catapult blows it up.

Tricky Spell 4 isn’t really all that good, because while it does summon some powerful tokens, it just really isn’t worth it.

Destructotron is the first Psychic-type monster I have, so that is nice. Just a shame it cannot survive without another Psychic on the field.

Twin-Shield Defender might be able to teach me some more Guardian techniques, so I guess he will be nice for that.

Jenis, Lightsworn Mender is a bit too situational and the effect isn’t amazing either. But like Lyla, her clothes would make an awesome saint outfit for Lua.

Remote Revenge is way too specific to actually be good.

Fish Depth Charge is okay. Would have preferred if it destroyed two cards like Icarus Attack, but I guess the draw 1 does somewhat make up for it. But I probably won’t use the card.

And Herald of Orange Light is perfectly fine. It does its job and it does it well enough.

“So this Geartown. It is a Field spell.” Cailie said.

“Yes, it is.” I confirmed.

“And you make these Factory rooms with the Field spells, right?”

“Yes.”

“Which one was used for this room?”

“Umiiruka. It is nice for making a beach like this, as the other Umi field spells focus mostly on the deep sea. But I do have Water monsters that prefer beaches like this.”

[collapse]

“Alright. ... But we didn’t get any of those Synchro monsters, right? They are white, right?”

“Yes they are. But they are quite rare, so we’ll probably only get one today. Maybe two or three if we are lucky.”

“... hopefully we find something I’ll like.”

“Yeah. I’m sure we will.”

TDGS 2

Doctor Cranium, Silent Strider, Book of Eclipse, Medium Piece Golem, Mecha Bunny, Synchro Deflector, Turbo Booster, Gonogo, Telekinetic Charging Cell

[collapse]

Okay. Why is Doctor Cranium not a tuner? Just asking. Because it probably should be. Well, whatever. It is decent, I suppose.

Silent Strider is just bad. No other way to put it.

Book of Eclipse is good. Kind of situational, but it is good. And it is a book, so I can add it to my libraries.

Medium Piece Golem is at least better than Small Piece Golem, but that doesn’t make it good.

Mecha Bunny is actually kind of okay. The burn and summon another copy effect is kind of nice. And I can use it as a blueprint if I ever want to make mechanical animals.

Synchro Deflector is okay. It's a bit too situational, but it isn’t bad. I do have to check if it works with Cailie. She is technically a synchro, right? And if it works for her, it will make a great set for her.

Turbo Booster is perfectly fine. A free summon from the hand, basically.

Gonogo is nothing special, and I’ll likely never use it.

And Telekinetic Charging Cell is fine, but not necessary for me. Health Conscious should already prevent me from having to pay the lifepoint costs, but I do need to confirm that first. If it doesn’t, then Telekinetic Charging Cell is actually nice.

TDGS 3

Noisy Gnat, Recycling Batteries, Equip Shot, Jenis, Lightsworn Mender, Fish Depth Charge, Mind Protector, Krebons, Red Dragon Archfiend, Shield Warrior

[collapse]

“That’s a Synchro monster, right?” Cailie asked.

“Yeah! One of the best ones in this set.” I answered, with excitement practically dripping off my words.

“Is it the one you wanted for me? ... no. You said Star-something, right?”

“Yeah. Stardust Dragon. Red Dragon Archfiend is great, but it can be a bit difficult, as it destroys your own monsters as well, if you don’t use it correctly. So I’ll be keeping it for my own use.”

“Ah. Okay. Hopefully we can find that Stardust Dragon.”

“I would say we will, but honestly, even getting the Red Dragon Archfiend is lucky. But I’ll get it eventually.”

Other than the dragon, which is a huge pull, well.

Noisy Gnat isn’t all that good.

Recycling Batteries is fine, but nothing special.

Equip Shot is just bad.

Mind Protector is actually kind of nice, stopping any weak monsters from attacking.

Krebons is also great.

And Shield Warrior is ... okay, I suppose.

Next pack.

TDGS 4

Jenis, Lightsworn Mender, Mind Protector, Psychic Snail, Equip Shot, Telekinetic Shocker, Fish Depth Charge, Ghost Gardna, Beast of the Pharaoh, Maiden of Macabre

[collapse]

Psychic Snail has good stats and an alright effect, so it is fine in my books.

Telekinetic Shocker is kind of the same, but honestly it is just a worse Krebons.

Ghost Gardna is not all that good.

Beast of the Pharaoh has an okay effect, for the TCG, but it is useless for me.

And Maiden of Macabre is fine. Nothing crazy, but just fine.

Spoiler[collapse]Spoiler[collapse]Spoiler[collapse]Spoiler[collapse]Spoiler[collapse]Spoiler[collapse]Spoiler[collapse]Spoiler[collapse]

Goblin Decoy Squad is going to be taken in by the Goblin bank, but I won’t be using them.

Plant Food Chain is usable, but not amazing.

Power Injector is the same.

Black Garden is a Field spell, so that is nice. But the effect isn’t really something I’ll need in this world, so I won’t be using it. Outside of making a Factory room.

And Tiger Dragon seems to be perfect for Einar and Eline. Just because it is a tiger dragon. I’ll get another few copies of it and hand one to both of them soon.

CSOC 3

Gozen Match, Doppelganger, Gigantic Cephalotus, Copy Plant, The White Stone of Legend, DNA Checkup, Everliving Underworld Cannon, Botanical Girl, Mad Archfiend

[collapse]

Gozen Match is of course amazing, but I’m not sure how it works in the real world, so I’ll have to test it.

Doppelganger is fine, but not amazing.

Gigantic Cephalotus is fine.

Copy Plant is usable, but I probably won’t be using it.

Everliving Underworld Cannon would be good if it didn’t have that ‘once per turn’ restriction.

Mad Archfiend is okay.

And then we have the EGG. The White Stone of Legend. The Blue-Eyes egg. And I love it. Sure it isn’t amazing, but it is a Blue-Eyes egg, so I have to love it!

Next pack.

Spoiler

CSOC 4

Morphtronic Cameran, Morphtronic Engine, Iron Chain Snake, Fragrance Storm, Wall of Ivy, Seed of Deception, Lineage of Destruction, Cursed Fig, Turbo Synchron

[collapse]

Morphtronic Cameran does kind of float into another Morphtronic, so I guess it isn’t the worst, but just ... why doesn’t it summon from the deck?

Morphtronic Engine is a good attack boost, but it is too limited.

Iron Chain Snake really needs to be able to either special summon itself, or equip from the hand.

Fragrance Storm is a draw spell, but not a good one.

Wall of Ivy is another card where I just ask, why does it give your opponent a token? It doesn’t have the stats that would mediate that kind of effect.

Seed of Deception is great for the TCG, but useless for me.

Lineage of Destruction is usable, but I think I have easier ‘attack twice’ cards.

Cursed Fig is okay, but again, nothing crazy.

And Turbo Synchron is a tuner, but the effect is ... kind of bad. At least for me.

Next pack.

Spoiler

CSOC 5

Synchro Strike, Everliving Underworld Cannon, DNA Checkup, Giant Trap Hole, Lineage of Destruction, Omega Goggles, Morphtronic Cord, Goblin Decoy Squad, Storm Caller

[collapse]

Synchro Strike is okay, but I wish it was a bit better. Either bigger boost, or a permanent boost.

Giant Trap Hole is nice. I can drop an entire squad of people into a trap hole at the same time.

Omega Goggles look funny, but I won’t be needing them. Unless I can reverse engineer then into something actually good.

Morphtronic Cord is too slow, because destroying traps after the battle is kind of bad. You want them gone before the battle.

And Storm Caller is actually kind of nice when you don’t have to tribute summon it. You can kind of Yata-lock them, while actually not Yata-locking them. Just destroy a monster, it goes to the top of your opponents deck, they draw it, can’t do much with it, they have to just set it, destroy it again, and so on.

Storm Caller lock. Is it good? Nope. But you can technically do it.

CSOC 6

Morphtransition, Morphtronic Magnen, Plant Food Chain, Goblin Decoy Squad, Gadget Hauler, Card Rotator, Horseytail, Iron Chain Snake, Morphtronic Accelerator

[collapse]

Morphtransition is okay, I suppose. Stopping attacks is always nice.

Morphtronic Magnen is nice. Control two of them and your opponent cannot attack.

Horseytail, again, summons tokens for your opponent! How many of these cards are there! At least these tokens force your opponent to discard when they are destroyed. But only when destroyed by battle, and by a plant monster.

And Morphtronic Accelerator is fine. It destroys stuff.

Next pack.

Spoiler

CSOC 7

Morphtronic Engine, Morphtronic Magnen, Comrade Swordsman of Landstar, Gadget Hauler, Plant Food Chain, Doppelganger, Zombie Mammoth, Copy Plant, Search Striker

[collapse]

Zombie Mammoth is another card with an unnecessary downside. It’s only a 1900 attack monster. It doesn’t need a downside.

Search Striker is the same. Why does it change to defense position after using its effect?

Next pack.

Spoiler

CSOC 8

Cursed Fig, Everliving Underworld Cannon, Botanical Girl, Poison Chain, Card Rotator, Revival Gift, Morphtronic Clocken, Pollinosis, Rose, Warrior of Revenge

[collapse]

Poison Chain is alright. Milling your opponent can either be good or bad, so just be careful with it.

Pollinosis is a great interruption card.

And Rose, Warrior of Revenge looks cute, but her effect isn’t actually any good.

Next pack.

Spoiler

CSOC 9

Everliving Underworld Cannon, Morphtransition, The White Stone of Legend, Jade Knight, Psychic Jumper, Iron Chain Blaster, DNA Checkup, Morphtronic Datatron, The World Tree

[collapse]

Jade Knight is another space fighter, so that is nice. Always good to have more of them.

Psychic Jumper isn’t terrible. You can get some nice monsters with its effect.

Iron Chain Blaster doesn’t burn enough.

Morphtronic Datatron, which definitely is a usb stick and not a lighter, is the same. Just too little burn damage.

But the World Tree is nice. I’ll be sure to plant one in the Black Garden.

Last pack.

Spoiler

CSOC 10

Card Rotator, Botanical Girl, Copy Plant, Morphtronic Engine, Fragrance Storm, Cursed Fig, Morphtronic Magnen, Black Garden, Psychic Lifetrancer

[collapse]

Well, I got a super rare. Sure it is a repeat, but I’ll need a second Black Garden anyway. One for the Factory, one for the Collection.

Psychic Lifetrancer is also nice. She looks kind of cute, but a bit scary. And her effect is decent.

So yeah. No Stardust Dragon, but I did get Red Dragon Archfiend, so I’m happy. Just a shame I only got two Synchro monsters. Had I gotten one more, I would have a total of five and I could have gotten the first reward for the Synchro summoning challenge.

... and it would have been a nice one.
