CH.531 Molly and Cina Limit Break

CH.531 Molly and Cina Limit Break

“We have some good news.” System Agent Coby told me when we met for an update on the entire Prototype skill situation.

“And some bad news.” Aulis added after him.

“... Well, I can guess the bad news. Fissure, right?”

“Correct.” Aulis confirmed.

“So the good news then.”

“Yes. The good news is, Magical Arms are ready to be implemented as an extra skill.” Cody informed me.

“Just that one? Not Manamorphic Body?”

“Manamorphic Body is extremely complex, especially since you want it to give access to other racial skills. Implementing all of that will take for a while longer.” Cody said. “In comparison, Magical Arms is quite straightforward. While it has some skill interactions, the reason it took this long, it doesn’t directly influence the gaining of skills, except Unarmed Combat and Multi-Armed.”

“But we had to collect data on the control of the arms, or it may have been too difficult for anyone without advanced mana circuits and Advanced Mana Control.” Aulis added.

“... Didn’t realize the skill is that difficult to control.” I admitted.

“For you, it isn’t. You got used to Telekinesis with low level Mana Control. Admittedly it is because of Laura, but it does show your own skill as well.” Aulis said. “Going from that to Magical Arms, especially since your mana circuits are now advanced and you have Advanced Mana Control, it is much easier for you.”

“... Yeah. I see your point.”

“Yes. But enough with that.” Cody said. “Do you have any good ideas for when we should announce the skill?”

“... you mean like you did with Designing?”

“Yes. An impactful timing will make it more meaningful, won’t it?”

“... maybe. But I don’t remember any big events coming up, so just release the skill when you are ready. Besides, how many people will actually get Magical Arms? Not nearly as many as who got Designing, I assume.”

“That is not information we can share, but I can confirm it is less than with Designing.” Aulis answered my not a question.

“Yeah. Designing is still a basic skill.” I said in understanding. “But just do it when you can. Now about the fissure.”

The fissure was nothing special, located in Bella Kingdom and not too close to any cities. There is a small town not too far away, but it isn’t like we are fighting on the back porch or something.

I informed the closest adventurer’s guild of it, saying that the Card Summoner clan would deal with everything.

For my fighting force, I took Cina and Molly. The two of them got to LV.99, so they are ready for their Limit Break skill. And now that they have Card Summoner, they should be able to deal with an S or SS-rank if they play their cards right. Literally.

I also took the Card Beasts to be back up, in case something unexpected happens. And they can mop up the weaker monsters, while Cina and Molly deal with the powerful ones.

When we reached the location, I let Cina and Molly prepare themselves and their cards. Both of them summoned their entire Synchro monster line-up of Thunder Unicorn, Voltic Bicorn and Lightning Tricorn, and set a few traps onto their duel disks, ready for activation.

Spoiler[collapse]

... I guess I never told you about their duel disks. Yes, I made both of them a custom one.

Molly’s duel disk is pretty basic. She actually wanted one shaped like a spear, but it just didn’t work out at all, so sadly for now, hers is just a standard GX duel disk. It does have a sharpened outer edge, so you can use it as a weapon, but other than that, it is nothing special. If I can make her some sort of spear duel disk, I will, but for now, can’t do it.

Cina’s is more special, but I spent less time on it, because I knew how to make what she wanted. Her duel disk is basically a kite shield, and it can also project a larger shield using the ‘hard light’ technology I’ve used in other duel disks.

It isn’t actually hard light. It is a mix of a few different magics.

I can, somewhat, make hard light. Mainly because my own duel disk has that Arc-V style blade made of hard light. But honestly speaking, hard light isn’t worth using for a shield. A mix of Space and Time Magic is a lot more effective, with some Light Magic added in for the visuals.

But back to the fissure. I just summoned Exodia, opened the fissure, and watched over everyone while they did the rest.

Cina and Molly both got their own S-ranks to deal with, and they both started off with a Life Equalizer.

Which isn’t guaranteed to work on S-ranks, they don’t always have enough HP, but luckily for the two Centaurs, both activated just fine. They did both have Gift Cards ready to go, in case it wouldn’t have worked, so they could give the monster more HP, so that they would be 8k above them, but that wasn’t required.

Also, the two Thunder Unicorns effect to lower the attack of the S-ranks came in handy, so with a bit of work, and Voltic Bicorns suiciding into the S-ranks for their effect to go off, Cina and Molly took down their S-ranks, and got the Limit Break skill.

And for dealing with this fissure, I didn’t just get one new set. I got two. and .

But since the Hidden Arsenal sets are kind of small, I think getting two of them counts as a full set, basically.

But before I open some packs, let’s check out the two centaurs’ stats. They did just get their Limit Breaks after all.

Also, remember way back in the day when I didn’t know why or how Card Summoner levels up to LV.2 that quickly? Yeah, I think I figured it out.

I think there are two ways of getting the skill to level up. The first is just ‘use a bunch of cards’. I don’t know the exact number, but it is probably around 100, if not more.

The second, and the hidden way is the more interesting one. For that, if I’m correct, you need to fulfill two conditions.

Fabled Miztoji; Shock Troops of the Ice Barrier; R-Genex Accelerator; Spellbreaker of the Ice Barrier; Gungnir, Dragon of the Ice Barrier

[collapse]

Fabled Miztoji is just ... I don’t even know. He is a Tuner and can discard himself to make a different Fabled a Tuner, so I guess that is okay. I just wish it was better.

Shock Troops of the Ice Barrier is a searcher, but it sucks, so I don’t really care for it. Besides, Ice Barriers have the Medallion. They don’t need terrible cards like this. The only time you’d actually want to use Shock Troops is if you are going against a Water deck.

Spellbreaker of the Ice Barrier is much better for me than it is in the TCG. Stopping all spells, even for just a bit of time, is extremely powerful.

And Gungnir is fine. Good stats, good effect. I like the dragon, but I feel like I won’t use him much, so I might give a copy to someone else.

Fabled Urustos; Spellbreaker of the Ice Barrier; R-Genex Oracle; Worm Tentacles; Gungnir, Dragon of the Ice Barrier

[collapse]

R-Genex Oracle special summons itself when added to the hand by a Genex effect. Which is fine for the TCG, but I don’t need that.

Dragunity Legionnaire; Worm Solid; Worm Yagan; R-Genex Turbo; Fabled Ragin

[collapse]

Worm Yagan is one of the better Worms, if I remember correctly. Special summons itself from the GY and target returns stuff to hand. That is nice.

R-Genex Turbo is another searcher. Sure only for level 1 Genex monsters, but that is enough.

And Fabled Ragin is great in the TCG, but for me, I’ll never be able to use his effect to make Pack Tokens, because I just have way too many.

Next pack.

Worm Tentacles; Jurrac Spinos; Worm Yagan; R-Genex Accelerator; Vindikite R-Genex

[collapse]

Jurrac Spinos ... why do you give my opponent tokens!? I don’t want that! You have good stats, but that effect is just ... WHY!?

Ally of Justice Quarantine; Caravan of the Ice Barrier; Jurrac Ptera; Naturia Fruitfly; Ally of Justice Decisive Armor

[collapse]

Ally of Justice Quarantine is nice. Preventing special summons, from what I learned with the Barrier Statues, should prevent magic. So Quarantine should prevent any and all casting of Light Magic.

Caravan of the Ice Barrier is okay. Making Pack tokens is always good, and returning stuff to the deck isn’t bad either.

Jurrac Ptera is a decent defensive wall, and it returns stuff to hand. Doesn’t make it good, but it isn’t bad.

And Naturia Fruitfly is a freaking pain to go up against. I love big attack monsters and this little shit just makes them tiny. It is kind of like Burden of the Mighty but in monster form.

Next pack.

Naturia Hydrangea; Fabled Urustos; Worm Tentacles; Naturia Horneedle; Vindikite R-Genex

[collapse]

Naturia Hydrangea is fine. It does special summon itself and the condition isn’t too difficult to meet. Sure I don’t need the special summon effect, and as far as attack points go, Naturia Hydrangea is only okay. But it is living flowers, so that already gives it a big advantage. Because no one expects living flowers.

... Also, I said I was going to open some Hidden Arsenal 4, but honestly, this has dragged on long enough, so I’ll do it next time. See you then.
