In the company Chen Yunsheng worked at, his superior’s office.
“… My great maestro, before I answer your question, can you first tell me what you played for her?”
Chen Yunsheng opened his laptop and replied with a frown, “Faraway Dream.”
His superior breathed a sigh of relief and said, “There's no problem then! Isn’t that kind of music supposed to be calming and sleep-inducing?”
“…” Chen Yunsheng didn’t answer right away. He stared at the semi-complete score sheet on his laptop and fell silent.
“W-what’s wrong?” His superior gulped worriedly. “Is there a problem with your progress on the project?”
Chen Yunsheng selected several files on his laptop while replying, “I got a sudden rush of inspiration. I’ll redo the score sheets.”
Then, he deleted those files without any hesitation.
His superior clutched his own forehead and screeched in horror, “Chen Yunsheng!!! The score sheets are due tomorrow!!!”
Chen Yunsheng looked at his superior. “I’ll make it in time.”
His superior’s expression slowly reverted to normal. “Are you certain? Well, you do look like you’re bursting with inspiration.”
Chen Yunsheng picked up his phone and laptop. He subconsciously touched the back of his phone and replied, “Mmhm.”
His superior: “… Did you just smile?”
“I have always been able to smile.”
Right after saying those words, he suddenly received a text. He glanced at his phone and saw that it was from Ji Fanyin. She said that she had slept well last night and asked if he could send those songs to her.
Chen Yunsheng immediately placed his laptop back onto his superior's table to type out a response on his phone: 【That’s not a problem. I have the copyrights to those songs. Shall I make a phonograph record for you?】
His mind had already started considering what kind of phonograph would suit Ji Fanyin.
When he finally put down his phone, he saw his superior staring at him in amazement. His eyes were practically screaming ‘gossip!!!’.
Several other colleagues outside who appeared busy or were in the midst of breakfast also subtly leaned in his direction with pricked ears.
Chen Yunsheng had the least impressive resume in this room, but that was only in this world. If he could include the long list of accomplishments he had accrued in his previous life, it was doubtful whether this company would have the resources to hire him.
Two short months into his internship, Chen Yunsheng had already become a core member of his team.
Noticing all of the nosey ears pointed in his direction, he picked up his laptop and harrumphed. “That’s right, I have someone I like. What about it?”
