29 Departure

Name:A Magical Destination Author:FlipC
Waiting outside the residence, there was a luxurious carriage lead by two beautiful horses with majestic golden hair and powerful, muscular frames. The carriage was a form of transportation reserved for only the top figures in the Nation. On it bared the flag of the Krashal Family.

The sun was rising on the horizon with dawn breaking, painting a canopy of gold amid the deep, dark blue. The darkness surrendered, giving way to the vibrancy of a colorful morning.

At the entrance, Elena and Bram were standing in wait for the arrival of their son.

Elena was staring into the sunrise with a happy smile on her face. The light of the Earth greeted her back in its luminescent warmth. Bram had a silly grin looking at Elena's figure, enchanted by this beautiful scene - she always seemed to have an indescribable affinity with nature.

Ready to set out again, Bram was dressed in the warrior clothing that had ventured with him for all his journeys. There were a few small scratches in the metal armor, but it shone gloriously in the bright sunny rays and made him look like a holy knight.

...

Austin was getting ready to leave Laura's room. He took one last look at her fair, lily-white face. Her honey sweet lips were sparsely parted as she lightly inhaled and exhaled. He extended his fingers to her silky, mid-night black hair spread messily on the pillow. He gently tidied it up, giving her one last affectionate smile before turning around and walking away. Upon the door closing, a quiet click resounded through the now silent room. A few delicate tears befell the pillow.

Outside the room, Austin was greeted by a smiling Elizabeth. She seemed to have been standing there for awhile, waiting for him to appear. The smile she wore contained an intrigue that was inquisitive - it was not dainty and innocent like normal. Austin looked at her all-too alluring face that held little to no semblance to Laura's. Underneath her sleek sleeping gown, Elizabeth's seductive body was vaguely displayed in a tease. Austin felt a foreboding sense of danger.

Behind her back, Elizabeth's hands moved in a mystical motion. The mana in the air was manipulated but it was too intrinsic for Austin to detect.

Time came to a standstill as Elizabeth continued to stare and probe into his soul, as if she was treating him an equal instead of innocent child.

Suddenly the pressure dropped and she said in a nonchalant manner, "make sure no one else finds out you used those spellbooks in the library. I've wiped the guards memories so there is nothing to worry about."

'Huh? Did Elena tell her about it? Eh, that makes sense after all. The two of them are close friends...'

'Wait. That's not right!'

"Your Majesty, I don't know what you're talking about." Austin replied with a vacant look saying he had no idea what she said. However, his slight moment of hesitance was not missed by Elizabeth's sharp eyes.

Elizabeth told Elena she would not bother with happened to Austin in the month he went missing. In honesty, there was a raging curiosity burning inside her. She had spent the last few weeks retracing her steps, searching for hints and trying to find out where he had been. In the end, there was only one possible conclusion - Austin had to have somehow entered a forbidden room in the Library, and the only room important enough to warrant secrecy was where the Rank 0 Spellbooks were located. Having tested him before, she knew the hidden capabilities of the boy in front of her.

Elizabeth's smile widened as if she has caught her prey. She did not respond to Austin but her graceful figure moved closer to him. Austin remained calm on the outside but he was sweating on the inside. Looking at her mocking eyes and taunting smile, he knew she had most likely caught on to his lie. 'Oh no...' Austin had no way out, he could only wait and see what Elizabeth would do to him. Whatever it was, it wasn't going to be pleasant...

He had his Godly Grade Skill - Magical Eyes, but it offered no help in this situation. Regardless if he knew the spells Elizabeth possessed, it's not like he had any combat power to resist. Plus, there were also restrictions and limits to using such an overpowered skill. Austin knew Elizabeth was not going to hurt him in any way. But with the cat and mouse game they have been playing with each other, there's no telling how she is going to use this advantage...

Elizabeth was now standing directly in front of Austin. A feminine, pleasant smell permeated through his nose. Austin was still playing the act of a child, hoping she was just behaving weirdly and did not realize his mistake. But seeing her looking down at him with the same, unperturbed expression - he knew the act was over.

Elizabeth crouched down and opened her arms in invitation.

"..."

Elizabeth instigated with a menacing smile. Something bad was definitely going to happen if he did not cooperate.

Austin stayed still for a few seconds before eventually ditching his performance and breathing out a sigh. Elizabeth saw the change in Austin's disposition for the first time but was not surprised, keeping her arms outstretched.

...

"Austin, you're finally here! We were ready to go and get you."

The sun had risen higher into the sky and the darkness of dawn had fully retreated.

"I saw him on the way out and talked to him for awhile. I had to say goodbye to my dear Austin!" Elizabeth followed out behind him with a glimmering smile. She was no longer dressed in her sleeping gowns.

"Elizabeth, you didn't have to get up so early for us," Elena said.

"Hehe, I know you won't be moving far away, but I had to take one last look at my friends leaving." Elizabeth explained, glancing meaningfully at Austin as she did so. She thought about revealing the truth and keep them here but decided against doing so. The Palace was not the safest place for them to be... Seeing their inside interaction, Elena had a questioning look in her gaze. She was about to say something when Bram's loud voice interjected. "Haha, we better get leaving then! Otherwise we'd be travelling through the night. Thanks for preparing this carriage for us Elizabeth, you're a big help!" He beckoned Austin and Elena to jump onto the carriage.

"Don't mention it. you guys go and spend some family time together. Come and visit when you can." Elizabeth said her parting words through the window.

"We will. Goodbye Elizabeth." Elena said back with a farewell smile. Austin stayed silent by her side, not saying a word to Elizabeth who did not seem to mind.

"Yup!" The carriage started leaving with Bram at the seat reigning the horses.
