Chapter 119:I Hope We Find Her Soon

Veon had already called the kidnapper, whoever he was. Veon is now currently in the living room with Shannara, Isobel, and Tyler. Even Dannie.

They had already told her father not to come with them and he agreed suddenly, making the youngsters wonder why he decided to willingly. What made it more suspicious is that Dannie and her father knew where the apartment is since it was their apartment before. They were supposed to go there last night, but they were stopped by Dannie's father.

Veon wanted so bad to get Sheloah back but he could not do anything for now but to wait. He could not even sleep well last night, thinking about the girl's situation. He thought of escaping alone last night, but he did not want to break their trust. Another thing is that Dannie and her father were patrolling the house, looking at their other comrades' condition as well.

Even though Veon was sleepy and a bit restless now at the same time, he still could not get Sheloah out of his mind. He really wanted her to be safe while he was not around.

Veon sighed and Shannara held his back, trying to comfort him. "I know you're not okay but we will be finding her soon." The boy just ignored her.

"Since you, Isobel, Tyler, Shannara, and Dannie are the only ones going, base the appearance of the apartment with that old picture that we have," he started then he rested on the couch's rest. "Dannie knows the route going towards the apartment so please protect her while you're on your way," he added and everyone nodded at him.

"Thank you," Veon said and Dannie's father continued speaking.

"By the way, all of you should bring what you need like a first aid kit and your guns. Bring extra bullets," he reminded them and everyone looked at their guns to check if they were properly loaded.

"Sir," Tyler called his attention and everyone looked at him. "Will it be taking us a long time to go find the place," he asked and Dannie's father answered.

"Maybe it would take you an hour. If there are a lot of zombies on your way, then it would take up more time."

"Then we have to be careful since Isobel and Dannie do not even know how to fight. They might drag us down," Veon reacted and Dannie shook her head, disagreeing.

"You don't need to give me much attention. I may not look like it, but dad taught me simple self-defense. He also taught me how to use a gun." Isobel raised her brow at her.

"So you knew how to fight all along! Why aren't you helping us out, then," she asked, a little sharpness evident in her voice.

Veon elbowed her slightly. "Don't be too sharp! Her father's here," he whispered but everyone knew why Isobel had said that.

Josh died because of her. Dannie knew how to fight yet she still did not help when it came to their group attacks. They even thought that maybe Josh would've still be alive if she helped.

"I had my reasons. I have trauma when it comes to handling guns because when I was training with dad, I accidentally shot his arm," Dannie explained and now they somewhat understood her.

"Don't worry," Dannie's father interrupted. "The both of us talked about it. The incident was all in the past. I also trust Dannie."

"But I'm really sorry for not helping with the attacks, really," Dannie said and they looked at her and noticed her sincerity.

Dannie's father returned to talking about the plans.

"By evening maybe you would've already returned here. For now, prepare."

Dannie said goodbye as her father stood up to handle some other important business in the house. Everyone sighed the moment they realized that the meeting was adjourned.

"Argh! I really want to leave," Veon complained and everyone's eyes werere now on him.

"You wait. We have to prepare first," Isobel said and Veon now looked more exasperated than before.

"I'm so irritated! I'm so worried for her," Veon said and Isobel threw a pillow at him.

"You're not the only one who's worried about her now stop saying that every second," Isobel said sharply as she glared at the boy. Veon shut his mouth for a while as he thought of possible ways to save Sheloah.

Tyler stood up and stretched. "I'm going to train outside. Want to come, Shannara," he asked and the girl nodded, then stood up.

"See you, Veon," Shannara said but Veon just ignored her. "I hope we find her soon so that you're happy," she added and the two already left for their training.
