Chapter 120:You Love Sheloah

Isobel looked at Veon. "Shannara cried last night." Her statement got his attention.

"She was?"

Veon knew why she cried. He knew the reason why yet he still dared to ask. He rejected Shannara yesterday. He couldn't help but feel annoyed because he was worried about Sheloah yet Shannara kept saying that he loved Sheloah.

Veon now wondered as to why he couldn't answer her question last night. He could've said no, but why couldn't he?

"Do you love Sheloah," Isobel asked and this made Veon irritated again.

"Why do you keep asking that? It's so damn annoying!"

"Why am I stupid?"

"Because you're in denial!"

"What in denial," Veon said and he sighed, exasperated. "I'm aware of what I feel," he added and Isobel rolled her eyes at him.

"You love Sheloah, stupid!"

"Will you stop!" Veon was now shouting at this point. "Can't you guys just shut up!? You guys aren't me!"

"You're so blind. You don't even realize it," Isobel said and Veon looked at her seriously.

'What does she mean?'

"You were my classmate since we were in the first year of high school," Isobel started and Veon listened to her. "It's my first time seeing you like this since you met Sheloah. I never expected a person who's so camera shy to have pictures with another girl—just the two of you even!"

It's true. Veon was camera shy but ever since he met Sheloah, he had the enthusiasm to take pictures with other people. Even with her alone. Sheloah was the first girl he was with when it came to pictures other than his family members.

"You hate people borrowing your jacket. Yet I was surprised when Sheloah was feeling cold and you lent her yours. You even let her bring it home! When I asked for your jacket, you outright rejected me," Isobel added and she huffed when she recalled of the event.

Veon really never wanted other people to borrow his clothes, especially his jackets or hoodies. He knew that girls liked borrowing boy's hoodies, having the hobby of not returning it, yet he had trusted Sheloah and had let her borrow it for a day or more.

"Another thing," Isobel said and she pointed at Veon, as if accusing him of something. "You always go home alone but ever since you became close with Sheloah, you walk home together. You're as fast a cheetah when you walk but when you're with her, you're as slow as a turtle!" Isobel laughed and Veon laughed with her, too.

She was right again. Every time he was with Sheloah, he always found himself having fun than the usual. He enjoyed her company. He realized that he was not just comfortable being himself around the boys… but with her as well.

Does that make her special and different then?
