Chapter 136：A Hound

Kreiss left the pictures on the ground and decided to keep one picture with his grandmother in it for the search of the gem. He only wanted to know what's with the gem for his uncle not to say a word about it. Even Kreiss' mother didn't say anything. The only thing he knew was that the gem was being fought over during family reunions.

Kreiss looked back when he heard quick steps behind him. Suddenly, he saw a dog running towards him. Kreiss stumbled on the ground when the dog pounced on him and that's when he noticed that it was already a hound—a zombie dog.

He got his katana and gripped it tightly. He did his best to kill the hound by stabbing its stomach and it made his target fall on top of him. The hound's saliva touched his face, making Kreiss cringe. He threw the zombie dog off him and he stood up quickly, wiping his face with his arm.

'Damn! I wish this isn't going to turn me into a zombie!'

The moment he turned around, he noticed that there were zombies walking towards him. He killed one zombie, but it just made things worse. It made the horde of zombies more furious and they started moving faster than usual. Kreiss tried backing off slowly but it was no use. They still noticed every move he made.

"Shit…"

'Is it Veon?'

The horde of zombies started walking towards Veon's side and panic arose Kreiss. He never thought of Veon doing such an act. Is he in trouble?

'Tsk… this is not part of the plan.'

Kreiss ran as he thought of Veon being in danger. Having him killed was not part of the plan so he decided to help him. He started killing zombies on the spot for his protection as he ran to where Veon was. He listened to the gunshots in order for him to locate Veon.

Kreiss noticed another path wherein zombies weren't present. He took that path and quickly rushed to Veon's side by listening to the gunshots. He was running as fast as he could so that he could reach Veon and help him. Having him dead was not part of his plan. This thought made him more agitated as seconds ticked by.

'I have to do something quick!'
