Chapter 154 - Let's Go

Noah was livid, flies always swarmed around his lover. Whenever she was out of his sight there was always a problem, it's like these men didn't know the consequence of their actions. Well, he would happily remind them what would happen when they came close to his lover. 

He continued to listen to the call and he recognised not just Cole and Thomas's voice but he detected another males voice in the background. It wasn't Jamie or Pierce, he signalled to Aiden, "Find out what happened tonight and who Ivy was with immediately."

Aiden quickly got to work, he phoned Thomas and there was no answer. He didn't know why though as he couldn't hear Ivy's phone call, he thought Thomas should still be at the office overseeing the boss's company. He felt something was off so he phoned Teo but it was the same.. It rang out and went straight to voicemail in the end.

Aiden didn't know what had happened that evening and in the end, he just glanced over to his boss. Noah was clearly beyond livid, he hoped everything was okay back home because if it wasn't hell was about to break loose.

On Ivy's side, it was chaos. Cole had sat up and had once again tried to grab onto Ivy's leg. Kai was right beside her and blocked Cole's arms, he kicked him again. Cole fell to the pavement once again.

Ivy felt bad for his circumstances that he found himself in but Cole had been his own worst enemy for a while now. She didn't want anyone to get hurt because of her but if they insisted on trying to hurt her she knew Noah wouldn't stand by and let that happen. She may take people out via hacking and ruining their reputation but Noah was like a possessive lion and once he bared his teeth people would get hurt. Cole was once again treading that line.

She glanced down at her phone in her hand and realised Noah was still on the line, she was lifting the phone to her ear again when Kai stepped forward and held her pushing her away from the scene.

"Come Ivy let's go, don't stand around and listen to this nonsense any longer, he is just trying to pull on your heartstrings, don't fall for it. Whatever he did he did it to himself it has nothing to do with you so don't feel any guilt." Kai didn't want her to feel any responsibility for Cole, he probably would have done worse to the man who had hurt Ivy.

"I don't feel guilty, I do feel bad for what has happened though. He did too many things in the past and recently he took my home and tried to take my company. My lover would not let anyone hurt me, so he took care of it for me. I mean I didn't know what had happened to Cole but I was of course aware it wouldn't be good." Ivy was being pushed away from Cole and towards Noah's car where Teo was waiting. 

Thomas was by her side and although she wanted answers from Cole, she knew she couldn't stay here. Paparazzi were already in the area and Thomas had already gotten rid of those photos already so she couldn't start another problem or scandal by sticking around.

"Your lover? Who is your lover? I thought you were single." Kai asked.

His heart had sunk when he heard her say the word lover. His hopes had diminished and he felt vulnerable, he had wanted to share his emotions and express how he felt about her finally and now what? Would he have to wait for their relationship to end for his turn? No, he couldn't wait again, he couldn't just be her friend any longer.

Ivy was pushed into the back seat of the car and Kai jumped in beside her, she looked to the front of the car and Teo was in the driver's seat while Thomas sat in the front passenger seat. 

As Teo drove away from the club she saw Cole being dragged away by Kai's bodyguards. She watched them for as long as she could before they disappeared.

"Ivy, are you dating someone?" Kai asked again, his voice sounded harsh and he choked out the words.

Ivy snapped back to herself and she looked down at her hand. The phone was still connected, she lifted the phone to her ear.

Noah guessed that she was listening to him so he answered her silence, "Tell him who I am to you and if he's not afraid to keep staying by your side then let him stay in the car. Ivy I am coming home now, wait for me." Noah then hung up.

Ivy knew her lover was angry but she didn't know if it was at her or not.

Ivy looked at the screen till it turned back and looked up at Kai, "My lover is Noah Adler. He is extremely loving but possessive. As you can see with what happened to Cole, he will do what he has to to keep me safe. So I can ask him to help with your problem but we… we probably should have some distance between us for your own safety."

Ivy would never abandon her friends and Noah had never stopped her from seeing her friends but as Kai seemed to channel some sort of unease within her. If he wanted to be more than friends then she couldn't continue to see him.

Kai was beyond taken aback, he had worked hard to be the best and to get to the top. But he would never be on Noah Adler's level. He was drawn to Ivy and he realised after meeting her tonight what his life was missing. It was her smile, her charm, her care. He missed her.

"Your lover is Noah Adler," Kai asked Ivy but he knew the answer by now. It all made sense, Ivy deserved the best and Noah was the best in business but a part of him didn't want to believe it. She deserved to stay in the light and he was well aware of Noah's darkness having heard the rumblings in the underworld.
