381 Bring Crimes to Ligh

Ailwin stared at the smug expression on Mikaela's face and couldn't help to put pinch her nose before giving her forehead a little flick.

\"Ow! What you do that for!?\" Mika yelled, disgruntle by his actions.

\"Stop being so pleased with yourself…\" Ailwin felt he needed to take Mika confidence down a peg or two.

\"Why can't I be? Besides, dealing with your annoying shadow, I got the King off our backs for the time being.\"

\"Yes, but this will just make him plan more carefully for next time.\" He warned.

\"I know, that is why we should go out a gaining as much support as we can right now. Waiting and discussing the problem over and over won't solve the issue.\" She knew Ailwin is a good Commander, but all these discussions will not help them against the King.

\"We need to plan according, you can't just decide to go to war and hope everything works out. Winning takes preparation, and preparation takes time.\" How could I forget she is still a fledgling... He though at seeing Mikaela's eagerness.

\"Time that we do not have… I agree that we need to prepare properly, but our enemies will not give us this luxury. We need the level the playing field, now.\" Mika was stupid, she studied war and military tactics before.

Ailwin saw Mikaela was smiling and knew she has something else up her sleeve. \"You little minx...what else did you do?\"

\"Not what I did, it's what we will do.\" Ailwin glanced her cunning face and swore he could see a fluffly tail peeking out from behind her.

What is she up to?

\"Why do I get the feeling that I should be more afraid of you than I should be of my own father?\"

\"Yea...you probably should. Sometimes I scare myself with things I come up with.\"

Ailwin shook his head with laughter. \"Heh… Stop it, and tell me about this other plan you have to buy us more time.\"

Mika left her seat and walked to her trunk. Opening the lid she rummaged around for a bit before pulling out a vial of black liquid.

\"Do you know what this is?\" She held up the tiny vial of black liquid up for Ailwin to see.

\"No…\" Ailwin took it from Mikaela's hands, he shook it a bit before taking a closer look.

Unable to make out what it is, he planned to open it up and take a whiff.

\"I wouldn't do that if I were you, unless you want all your servants and guards turning into monsters…\"

Stilling his hands, Ailwin looked down at the small vial then at Mika.

\"Is this what I think it is, Mikaela?\"

\"If you think it's a sample of the virus that infected Braeden and all of Rowood City, then you would be correct.\"

\"Mikaela…!\" Ailwin wanted to throw the vial far away from them, but instead he placed it carefully down on the table.

\"Why do you have that thing!?\" He pointed at the tiny bottle as he moved both himself and Mika across the room, away from it.

\"I kept it just in case I find a use for it.\" She shrugged her shoulders as if the reasoning was obivous.

\"What could you possibly use that-oh no, Mikaela... No.\" Ailwin shook his head, realizing what Mika's plan is.

\"You didn't even hear my plan…!\"

\"Mika, it's a virus. What could you possibly use a virus for, but to infect people with it…!\"

\"Yes. Yes, that is true...but now we can infect certain people with it.\"

\"No, Mikaela. This is not something to mess around with.\"

\"I know it's not. However, if we were to let be known to the public it would give the King more problems to deal with...which! In return, would give us more time.\"

\"You want to infect the public?\"

\"No! Of course not... Well yea, maybe... Just a certain Prince...on his wedding day…\"

\"You want to give Thallan the virus on his wedding day…\"

\"Yeah.\"

\"….\"

\"What!? Don't look at me like that!... Your father tried to kill you twice... My sisters and step-mothers, have long try their hands at doing me harm. We both come from f**ked up families, I think it's safe to say that we would be a little fucked up ourselves! So don't judge me…!\" Mika stomped towards the table and picked up the tiny bottle of black liquid.

\"Since the King and his minions have been playing with this for a much longer time than we have, I'm sure they have come up with their own cure by now.\"

\"...and if they don't? We will be killing thousands!\"

\"No, we won't. The one we are going to release is going to be a modified version of their virus. It will look the same, act the same, but the end result won't lead to a totally mutation.\"

Ailwin was silent as he thought about it.

\"This is the only way we have right now to expose the King's crimes.\"

Ailwin knew this was true. If they didn't expose the King's evil acts, he'll just keep do them until he achieves his goal or kills everyone in process.

\"Fine, but you have to assure me that we won't have another Rowood City on our hands.\"

\"I can.\" Mika said with confidence.

With the plan set in motion, they told everyone else of the current situation at the academy before sending Celaena, Hycis, Nylian and Kaze away the next day.

As for Mika and Ailwin, they stay at his palace to mange a couple of affairs before heading to the Amara clan. One of which is the two warships and the royal guards onboard.

Waking up, bright and early on the fifth day since she came to Ailwin's territory, Mika alerted Ailwin and Braeden that she was ready to open the vessels' doors.

She had been watching Commander Wynfina and his men via their ships cams, and finally felt it was time to let them out.

Braeden could not be anymore happier to finally get his time on the warships. Already at the vessels, he waited impatiently for Mika and Ailwin to show up after their morning breakfast.

\"What took you guys so long?\"

Mika and Ailwin both looked at the sun still rising in the early morning skies.

\"I-ah I got the men into positions, ready when you are-cough…\" Realizing that he might have been a little too zealous, Braeden turned away embarrassed by his behavior.

\"I'm ready.\" She nodded as Ailwin led her to his rover.

Inside, Mika was able to disengaged the lock system in secret using his tablet.

With news of the warships being unlocked, the excited soldiers didn't care about Mika's presence at the site.

As the ramps extended and touched the ground, all the soldier held steady, waiting for the first signs of an attack.

Seconds went passed with the area being silent with anticipation.

Finally the soldiers outside heard banging coming from inside. Every person trained their weapon at the dark opening.
